I'm a collector of vintage clothing and I went crazy during this period ordering stuff from the states via Ebay. Good times 😁

Are you just a simple tailor by any chance? [/DS9]

Just imagine that lining on the headboard of your bed. It would be a joy to wake up to. In fact, I'd wallpaper at least one wall of a bedroom with it.

My Bitsa (or Frankenjazz as I prefer to call it) has been a bit more bitsa’d… new scratch plate to accommodate a Catswhisker neck humbucker and a Catswhisker 2+2 Jazz humbucker in the bridge… luvverly!!! Sounds fabulous!

Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to respond. It’s great to see the expertise demonstrated by members of this forum. Quite remarkable really. 🙏

That's awesome. I bet that neck feels amazing after nearly 60 years of playing. Was it originally black with the tort?

Brightened my day that did. 👍 Thanks Mick.

This was my attempt at seeing if I could get on with a 7 string. Alas despite giving it a try over a couple of years my brain just cannot cope and I often seem to be playing one string wrong! A previous owner swapped the pickups for the rather excellent Seymour Duncan Mick Thompson active set. One of the mounting feet on the neck pickup was apparently damaged at that time so that's been repaired in a very janky sort of way. They function just fine - absolutely massive output levels with great clarity. The bridge pickup is the complete opposite of subtle! It seems that the pickups had an RRP of nearly £400!!! I am unconvinced that the tone control is actually connected as it doesn't seem to do anything. At some point in the past the tuning heads have been swapped to gold ones too. I've set it up so it plays very nicely in BEADGBE tuning. There are quite a few scratches and bits of paint knocked off but it's quite difficult to photograph, but this is reflected in the bargain price. £250 ono collected from Northants as I do not have a box.

Tube power stage vs Class-D (effective power)
Tech21NYC replied to Paddy Morris's topic in Amps and Cabs
With these tariffs we all have bigger problems than tube vs SS vs Class AB vs Class D etc. I used to deal with BK when he had Tubeworks. The MosValve was cool. I did a gig a few months ago and my co-guitarist had a little Qulter combo and it sounded good. Pat is a legend in the industry and I've used QSC products for years. The Tonemaster is unique in that it is a modeler dedicated to one amp sound married to an ICE power module but they use the same cabinets that their tube counterparts use. Interesting to note that the specs that Fender gives are somewhat relevant to this discussion. From the Fender product page: Twin Reverb amplifier uses massive digital processing power to achieve a single remarkable sonic feat: faithfully modeling the circuitry and 85-watt power output of an original Twin tube amp. Using a high-performance 200-watt digital power amp to achieve the headroom and dynamic range of a real vintage Twin tube amp, paired with the pronounced sparkle and clarity of two Jensen® N-12K neodymium speakers I'm not familiar with that name. -

I didn't think the duty attracted Vat? Ah well - makes the comparison with Andertons even worse then.

I’m sure we’d all like to hear some audio, if it’s at all possible. When I say we, I really mean me, but I’m guessing there might be others too.

Not if my idea comes to pass. Told the lad in the local takeaway to send a letter home suggesting they convert their held treasuries, 760bn USD, into brick and mortar then build a wall around Trumpland. The orange BAM may talk but let's face it China perfected wall building centuries ago.

The UI looks nice. But is it smart and fast working? It seems impossible to see the whole signal chain on one screen. If you are a 'heavy' user that means plenty of (extra) scrolling if you want to first fine tune the first pedal on the upper path and then the last pedal on the lower path. The pictures of the pedals on the screen look nice, but they seem to not showing the actual values of the pedal? Edit: looking at the manual there seems to be plenty of customization for the rotaries. I will read it before more complaining : )

I shall try, If it works disregard the grounding strip it's only there because I was trying to clean out the ground wire hole that's been problematic since it was repainted in 1972 lol. It has since been removed.

Pedant alert. VAT is the final charge and goes on the cost after Duty is charged.

Bit pricey but I am interested in this, either getting a Brand new mini amp rig Ashdown Studio type or might go for this. See how the price drops more real life reviews

Yes - thank-you. Split and merge blocks in the signal chain... cool. Not sure I can afford £900 though...
