  2. I remember American Classics on the Kings Road very well. Just up from The Garage,an indoor market that always had a classic American car parked in the forecourt.
  3. Purchased brand new in 2019 from Laurence Dixon Bass Place. These basses are crafted in a master workshop in Hungary and completed in Laurence's workshop by Andras Lovaszi. More info here: https://www.laurencedixonbassplace.com/the-lovaszi-bass This particular bass is fitted with the more premium endpin as can be found on the more expensive Stella model. A brand new Luna model currently costs £8000. I have performed with it a lot over the past 6 years and it has picked up a few scars over that time - most notably a small crack in the front which was properly repaired by Laurence (the top taken off and the crack properly reinforced). It also has a couple of very small cracks on the side which have been glued, again by Laurence. The fingerboard is in excellent condition and has a lovely flame to the finish. The neck is really smooth, no chips or dents. It its currently strung with Evah Pirrazi strings. Case included in sale. Located in Penge - South East London.

  4. You will not be disappointed, sir.
  5. I used to buy 10 sets of (guitar) string from Musicians Friend, sell 4 on eBay & I had 6 free sets. Not worth it now, even if you can get them to post here.
  6. My Melancholy Blues - Queen
  7. Here's the blurb - they sure ain't low tension, but surprisingly (for me, at least) it seems to work in this context. I can get the strings fairly low with zero buzz, so they're easy to fret. I won't be doing much in the way of string bends, but then I don't really need that in this context anyway, so... p.s. they are easy to slide over from the get-go. My first ever flats were Fenders and itook a good long while before they stopped being "sticky", which almost put me off flats for life. Soundwise, I would describe them as well punchy and very solid. Very even across the neck. Set of Strings for Electric Bass High quality stainless steel flatwound strings for bass Complete set .045 - .100 Long scale Hexagonal core made of American steel for solid bass, optimal tension and constant volume Individually coloured ball ends for easy mounting String gauges: .045fw - .065fw - .080fw - .100fw
  8. I think I might have overpriced this a bit - bump with price drop. £3200 with vintage TCT / East £3100 with reissue TCT £3000 if somebody wants it without a preamp installed.
  9. Bump for price drop £2100
  10. No mad rush.... Look after yourself first... Hope you get well soon.
  11. I guess I need to be finishing that power supply! Sorry, been very distracted (and now I'm Tom Dick 🤢)
  12. I have a fretted and a fretless...great basses..so, so playable...lovely necks , huge choice of sounds... I think you have this underpriced but that should make for a quick sale. GLWTS
  13. Don't worry, your processed meat in tubular form encased in pastry is safe on my watch.
  14. I used to go to America and buy vintage clothes back in the 1980's and bring them back to flog. It was a lot of fun, and a nice way to subsidise my holidays. There was a shop in the Kings Road called American Classics that was very trendy (and very expensive). I could get most of the same gear half the price. However, even in those days in the States no one was giving the stuff away. All the shops selling secondhand clothes knew the value of the American market for classic and vintage gear.
  15. If this was a product a few years back I would've chosen it over the Quad. Now? I don't think it would be worth the effort or make sense to sell the QC to buy this. I also feel obliged to stay loyal to Dougs new company and products since he has helped me out a good few times over the last few years. Just please port the Darkglass plugin into the QC!
  16. Don't you dare chlorinate my sausage rolls!
  17. Regardless of current turbulence, the pound is unlikely to recover historical strengths against the dollar. It might be a bit better than piss-poor, to use a technical term, but no one will be filling their boots with cheap American luxury goods in any foreseeable future. Trade deal or not, American goods such as musical equipment will remain priced at a bit more than they are actually worth. Just an aside, when you see the state of some of the people dining in Greggs nowadays , I think accepting American chlorinated chicken as part of a trade deal is the least of our worries. We've already accepted far worse in terms of diet and food habits.
  18. This keeps coming up and I have to keep remindig myself, I'm here to SELL a bass, not to buy a new one... 😅
  19. Today
  20. That. That right there is clickbait! Heeheehee. On the contrary. Now we all want to hear it.
  21. Thanks, there's more to it, but I don't want to get to long winded.
  22. That's a pretty cool story it has attached to it. Really nice!
  23. Welcome Doc
  24. Serial #E05729 ManufacturedNovember 19th, 1998 ModelBASS 5-STR RED TRN MAPLE Weight is 10lbs, obviously a respray as it's very much not translucent red! The clear lacquer has peeled a bit off the back, due to some possibly vigorous polishing 🙄 anyway, doesn't diminish from the fact that it is a great bass, really punchy and versatile. Has the very useful 3 way switch which gives you series/single coil/parallel pickup options. Has the Music Man hard case. Would prefer collection, can meet up in Dorset/Devon/Somerset. Otherwise can be boxed if you arrange a courier. For Sale only, no trades-thank you. Cheers, Simon
