  4. Played 2nd on the bill in a 4 band/artists gig in Alderbury (village close to Salisbury). It was a fundraiser for a Salisbury Live event in June called Picnic in the Park. It was a social club and a good mix of locals, band members, friends and family in there, pretty busy and a good atmosphere. Our drummer did his solo act before we went on, he sings and plays guitar in his own band. Our set went well, some of those that have seen us before said we get better every time they see us... I guess the songs are becoming more familiar 😂 I enjoyed the night, the last band played covers but threw in a few curve balls that I enjoyed (I am the resurrection, who covers that?! Brilliant!). For the shoe fetish crew - a pair of scruffy Lee Copper Converse fakes. Normally I wear my Airwalks but wanted a change. As an aside, my 87 yr old dad watched me lace up a shoe today and told me off. Apparently they taught him how to lace up his boots during National Service so that you could cut the laces with a knife easily and get your boots off quickly if you needed to...every day is a school day 😁
  5. I'm still shocked it's not Van the Man - anyway I'm confident it'll be a great book

  7. Late night wiring of my “Essentials” board. Saw a 3leaf Audio “Youre Doom” in Ebay. Couldn’t let it pass!

  9. Very cool! Si
  10. Just wondering if anyone on here knows where I can get a Pickguard made for my Lakland DJ-5. I've tried finding one on online, but I can't seem to find anything. Thanks.
  11. Oooh, Earthtone9, there's a blast from the past, I saw them supporting Misery Loves Co at Camden Underworld about a million years ago!
  12. Nope, definitely not graphite. Can someone pop to China and teach them how to correctly mount Monorail tuners, please?
  13. I'm on the last leg of my train journey from Hamburg to home after seeing Massive Wagons at Bahnhof Pauli this evening, well, yesterday now, to be pedantic 😉 Tiny venue, 400 max capacity but a really good gig, probably the best I've seen for a while. It was one of those punt gigs after hearing a couple of songs on the radio but totally worth it.
  14. Two things I learnt from that video - Rex doesn't like playing slowly or playing sitting down 😄 It's a shame it ends when it does, he's just starting to relax towards the end. Rex was a MASSIVE influence on me as a teenager, for me he is probably the king (forgive the pun) of metal bass. To this day, when I'm working on heavier music, I'm frequently in a "WWRD?" frame of mind. That Floods bassline... absolute chef's kiss. And also - The Great Southern Trendkill is the greatest metal album of the 90s.
  15. Hold on, the toggle switches, into a pcb are one of the least likely things to be a bug to find.
  16. Isn’t the left knob of the BOD their take on a oc2 type octaver and the right knob a EBS style octaver?
  17. Literally collected this last Tuesday from Bass Bros. I chose it over 2 other honeyburst SR5’s as it sounded and played better than the others - it also has that slightly mellower honeyburst rather than the starts red/yellow that the later versions seemed to have. I bought it for a band which I’m apparently no longer in because I called some shitty behaviour out. I don’t need a 5 string. It’s ace but I don’t need it. It’s got some marks/dings (it’s 27 years old…), the worst of which is down by the strap button on the butt of the bass - it’s had some refinish applied o it and once the strap is on; you’d never know. it’s 9.8lbs. So “light” for an SR5. it has a beautiful Birdseye neck. Very sad it’s not staying but I have no use and really don’t want a reminder of the band it was bought for. I don’t really want trades - but I’m easily swayed; I’d like money my way if possible. comes with a hardcase and a brand new set of d’addario 5’s (it has brand new strings on). can ship in UK for £20 collection preferred. some pics are from BB site - more will follow when im not heading to bed - including the obligatory name/paper shot.
  18. I have a Skyline hollowbody but with Bartolinis. It's a 2005 Korean build
  19. I want to do Charlie Haden but his wife is fiercely protective of all things CH so I don't think its likely. I also thought of Steve Swallow and made contact with him but he said someone else was doing it (but that was years ago and it never appeared so maybe one day..). This time it isn't a bass player. Please don't try guessing as it isn't fair to say anything until it is ready for publication and I don't want to look like I am being small-minded about it. Anyway, shouldn't you all be practicing your reading?
  20. I use songbook pro, you can search in the app or copy things across from a computer
  21. Stunning Boss 100 Combo (guitar) MK2 release Unfortunately this fabulous amp is not getting used and is in perfect condition with dust cover and all original documentation. Bought on a whim and only powered up twice as my six string playing was also fleeting, guess it’s just bass for me. happy to courier but prefer pickup due to weight and gung-ho couriers. Courier costs at your expense, but would be around £20. UK sale only. Full specs available via Boss website: www.boss.info/global/products/katana-100/ Any question ask away. Cheers, Steve.
  22. There was some really great metal coming from the south of the US at that time. Plus we also had Sepultura, Life of Agony and Fear Factory plus British bands like Therapy? and The Almighty and the whole grunge scene as well. It was a great time to be in to noisy music. It all ended when Limp Bizkit and Blink 182 came along. They were just terrible.
