..and lots more progress this morning thanks to the black spray paint drying really quickly. Also managed to get the first coat of a fluorescent lime green paint on ready for the black light which I have just ordered, and fitted the runners...

It’s a Hipshot BT7 on the Ida bass Sandberg told me to install a D tuner it requires drilling extra holes. The BT7 resembles our design the closest Bass Direct said Sandberg tuners are a specific size and Hipshot don't offer a direct replacement. The Ida Nielsen bass from Sandberg uses an extender and its a BT7

floFC started following Squier CV p bass Antigua question
-
I have bought one of these (70’s Squier Precision Antigua finish), new - it has a 2025 serial number. I can confirm it is a painted single ply pickguard, but I wanted to raise something else (minor) I encountered. The bass is very nice and well made but I wanted to lower the strings a bit - using the Allen key provided, it fitted perfectly in the higher strings saddles, but the “holes” in the grub screws for the E string are a larger size - the provided tool just spins round and round (I don’t think they are sheared). Why would that be? Anyone else found that?

I don't know, I asked the Q on here a couple of years ago when I bought my Lionel s/h, and no one knew, you seem to need to interact with sandberg on facebook or twitter, they do come on here but not routinely, some of the members on here are tight with them, some maybe endorsees or sponsored by them. Maybe ask BassDirect they are a dealer/agent

Killer red finish. Stunning! Loving my BB as well. Such an easy to play
-
Rejoined the BB club yesterday - £799 in Guitar Guitar in the new ‘Crimson Red’, I’d have preferred the Sunburst but it’s preferable to Matt Black and I can live with it. I bought it about 4:30pm as the only one in stock was the Newcastle store which I’m near, so I picked it up and gigged it that night. It sounded excellent, more than happy with it - although I almost bought a BBP35, but I do prefer the option of an active bass

Amazing Lego Minimoog project - please support

It was a great holiday though. 52 danish krona for a one scoop ice cream in legoland. Ah joy. I picked up a few key rings as souvenirs, couldn’t afford anything else! The shop was worth a walk around. They had pretty much the whole catalogue to pick from. Lego house was the surprise, we loved it more than legoland. Just loads to do and plenty of nostalgia for the stuff I bought when I was growing up.- 25 replies

Is that an actual Sandberg one or another make?

Vintage basses can be quirky. While some have brilliant elements they also have their own characteristics, whether to their age, their life up to this point or the material/build quality of that particular era. So I would say; think closely about what you do like about this bass and what you don’t like. Decide whether those things could be better met by another bass before modding this one to try to achieve that. As others have said, a 78 P does a very good job of being a 78 P. If that’s not the sound/look etc you’re after, then there are other alternatives. FWIW I’ve owned a 1970 sunburst P for the last 30 years. I don’t love everything about how it plays or looks but it does what it does. Personally I wouldn’t dream of swapping stuff on it unless it desperately needed fixing. I have other basses that cover other sonic and aesthetic ground and I leave the old P as it is. But that’s just my two cents worth.

A hint of tempo might give a better view to what's coming up. The bass part itself doesn't look that bad but after listening to the song I really understand the issues mentioned.

There was nothing like a 90's mosh pit.

Whats the heaviest gauge you can use on a 1024x without adjusting the nut? I believe it has 45-105 on now, was considering some 50-110 for CGCF tuning.

Ali Express, that's definitely not graphite, mate!

Got inspired with your last nano board post here. Been using the pedal riser board for quick gigs but thought of bringing back the old nano I kept in the closet. Thanks!!

And I just happen to have a brand new LHZ 03 preamp that I’m about to list in the classifieds. I bought two, but have had a change of mind about what I’m doing with one of the basses in question. 😊

SimBass started following Tascam MA-8 - 8 Channel Preamp with Phantom Power 1 rack unit £85
-
Tascam MA-8 This has 8 fantastic sounding pre-amps. I've not had a need to use it for a while, so did a quick test with my AKG c214 condenser mic to ensure all channels were fully working, clear and with working phantom power. All channel sounded lovely (audio available on request, but it's just me say "testing channel 5" etc.) There are 2 red knob caps missing (channel 7 and 8) as per the photos, but other than that it's a good as new. Each channel gain has the feel of quality for something made in Japan 20 years ago. A fantastic piece of kit which will keep working for another 20+ years easily. Comes with 'unscrew-able' feet which can be removed if you have a tight rack unit, but very useful for desktop use. Any questions, let me know £85 if picked up from South Lincolnshire area or if you want it posting within the UK I can look up postage charges
