  1. Past hour
  2. Best. Filter. Ever. I’ve had LOTS of filters here at _5 Towers but the meatball is the one that stayed.
  3. More like farmer's fields on the back of a trailer, with a small PA 🤣
  4. Thumb 5 BO was my first 'good' quality bass. Tried it on a shop around '97 and fell in love with the sound, and the looks and feel..... Sitting down. I preserved with it for about 5 years in amongst other basses, and then decided I couldn't get on with 5 strings. What I realised later, after playing lots of other 5 strings, was it was the ergonomics of that particular bass. With such a small body but a fairly heavy neck, it was prone to neck dive. The worst part of the ergonomics though is that because of the body proportions, first fret feels a country mile away, stood with it on a strap! Feels like it's a 48" scale length! 🤣 That sound though.... I swapped mine for a 4 string corvette, which still sounded and looked great, but was much more ergonomic. There's no 'magic' about them tonally though, it's just down to the pickups, preamp, and location of the pickups. If you did the same thing in any bass shape it would sound essentially the same. 🤷
  5. From what I see the age requirements are only to avoid seeing age appropriate things in your 'feed' and checks to ensure no access to adult only content. Basschat has no algorithms to give you any 'feed' - that is obviously based on facebook / twitter style feeds, and we have never had adult only sections, apart from maybe the sections on P basses in sunburst and tort that you have to be at least 70 to have an interest in
  6. Playing arenas with no PA? 😄
  7. Thanks Charlie. It is a very musical filter indeed. It's on eBay ending tomorrow so last chance yall.
  8. These look like the standard size but will work with 4 or 5 string as they have a bar pole inside. Follow the Instruction link on EMG page for dimensions. I've used them on both. The longer 5 string size are a different code. I have some of those as well on another bass, but not at home at the mo to check. GLWTS, @ead
  9. I do have a silver briefcase type thing to which I added foam that would nestle the desk and power cable nicely that I could throw in if that helps?
  10. After tomorrow, I won’t be able to post this until next Wednesday so if you’re thinking about grabbing it, be aware of this.
  11. I had a Warwick Streamer LX shipped to me in just its gigbag, with an old t-shirt wrapped around the headstock. The shipping label was stuck to the gigbag itself, with no extra tape to keep it secure. That was quite the heart attack when it was delivered to my workplace. I didn't have the wits to ask the driver to hang around for a second while I inspected the bass, so he was gone in a heartbeat. Luckily it had survived intact, and it's one solid chunk of bass! Well, except for the neck pickup which turned out to be dead, but that was unrelated to the (lack of a) packaging job.
  12. We have a 5-8 acoustic gig tomorrow night at The Ziegler Winery. 1 hour commute. Classy place. Daryl
  13. The question would then be, who pays for it? And who carries the risk? I think it's a good idea though. Perhaps a good business idea! Rob
  14. I bought one of their bridges for a stingray style bitsa - I was very pleased. It did take a while to arrive. It is quite different looking, so if the aesthetic side is important (and why wouldn't it be?!) then I'd think twice. A lot to be said for the BBOT in these cases.
  15. Why don't email providers just do the checks and then provide a verify service to third parties? Then anything you log into with your email is already checked for you.
  16. I went through all the MEE Pro IEM's, from the 1 to the 4, as well as the 6, and found the 3 to be the best for my use. I liked the 4 driver version but it sounded a bit colder to my ears. The IE100 and IE400 are very close (I have both at home). The fit is slightly different, with the IE400 just a tiny bit bigger, or shaped slightly differently. Both are very comfortable though. Ive even got the BT adaptor for mine so I can use them as normal headphones. I can wear those for hours without fatigue. The IE400 has a bit more bass and open top end (again, according to what I think I hear), but with a very similar tone signature. I find them not far off from my AKG M-50's as far as low end goes. I could never get a KZ of any sort to fit in my ears securely, not matter what tips I used (inc Memory foam). They just seem too big and heavy.
  17. Could Have Used A Little Green Stuff - The Blues Band
  18. Wad Ever You Want - Status Quid
  19. There's a fine second-hand sixer Overwater on the Guitar Guitar website right now - and no, I don't work there. 😁

  22. Some sites might want to see proof of age on an official document. Basschat will want to see breath condense on a mirror.
