Tube power stage vs Class-D (effective power)
Bill Fitzmaurice replied to Paddy Morris's topic in Amps and Cabs
A compressor that tames the initial transient peaks but doesn't have any other effect should fix the problem. I'd say whatever limiter you're using either can't do that or it's not set up correctly to do that. I used to be able to get my Hartke 3500 to go into protect mode. It certainly wasn't caused by a lack of power or headroom. But I didn't have a compressor, and it only happened when I slammed a chord at the end of a song. It didn't bother things all that much, as my feed to the PA was unaffected. -
Seems a lot of money but it does look very nice. I actually like the colour the body has faded to rather than the blue on the headstock. I don't seem to have won the Planet Rock pay out this week so I'll just have to wait until next week. Rpb

Clay dots and LPB is a combination you don’t see very often. The neck pocket with the original unfaded colour shows how vivid the original finishes were. Very lovely. Seems all the money, will be interesting to see how quickly it sells.

That was the general approach. I am not willing or able to go fully down the PA route so have a solution that works for me.

These days, the howl in "Won't Get Fooled Again" is probably because he just put out his back lifting a bottle of mineral water.

@agedhorse @Tech21NYC this is absolutely fascinating stuff. Thank you for sharing your memories and experiences. I wonder whether either of you came across Greg Burman? -

Don't suppose this is still available?? I have a pal who would love this, I could collect in a couple weeks time??

Yes, quite. Very tempted by one of those myself, but I have other Darkglass stuff that kind of negates me me buying one. I wouldn’t be as foolish to suggest that I don’t ’need’ one 😂 - it’s just a little harder to justify 😎. I would think Darkglass would be quite keen to resolve the issue as well.

There does seem to be more to it than his drumming, just wonder why they didn't use "the musical differences", or "Zak's moving on to other projects" excuse, of course back in the day a young Roger Daltrey would have just thumped him

This is very sad news. She seemed really lovely, RIP Sam.

Saw Roger Daltrey with his band (Not the Who) at the Birminham Symphony Hall last year sometime. Still an excellent voice and excellent show, IMHO.
