  2. These are my latest 2 pedals - wet week here so giving them a work out the FTT is a very powerful unit. I turned all the EQ flat on my old Ashdown Klystron and crikey there’s more than a few options the Brown Boss LM-2B is an excellent pedal. Simple but the shit
  3. Imelda May - Sneaky Freak
  4. II posted an advert in the miscellaneous section yesterday. It's still awaiting approval. How long does this process usually take, and is it visible during this time?
  5. Funnily enough, I'm just half way through writing a 'join my band' advert to form a Reggae backing band. I figured other than Pama International, Upper Cut Band, Friendly Fire Band I'm not aware of other active UK ones - and none on the South coast. I suppose it is because there isn't the market for it but I like the idea of a Roots Radics style band that supports different vocalists. It probably is ambitious for the limited Portsmouth/Chichester/Brighton reggae scene though!

  7. I hit this problem when the first lockdown happened - suddenly I had loads more time (no commuting) but found I lacked the motivation to do the things I’d always wished I had time for. What helped me was starting a Bullet Journal, and I still do it now. I use it just for the fun stuff (bass, guitar, keyboard, singing, electronics) but many people use it for all aspects of life. I note down (in ‘spreads’ - see video) things I want to try, improve on, buy, sell, build, repair, whatever. At the end of each day I give myself 2 or 3 things to do the next day - I don’t always get them done, but every day I have a record of the small steps I’ve made to reach my goals. It’s a way to: - Track your past - Organise your present - Plan your future Here’s a good place to start:
  8. Maybe a bit of superglue and see if it does the job
  9. As did I, but I returned them. I could never get a signal; I didn't have this problem with my previous Sony Ericsson, with Orange as provider. The SIM kept falling out, too. ...
  10. https://www.hartke.com/products/amplifiers/tx-series-amplifiers/tx7500/ Stumbled across this last night. Looks to be Hartkes new take on the HA range but completely solid state and missing the filters. Visually the design reminds of Acoustic amps and I do like it in a very retro early 90s sort of way. Will be interested to see how it sounds. I have the LH1000 at the moment, which is a very reliable, loud and good sounding amp so unlikely to change but would be interested to check it out.
  11. Hey Sean, looking at that ebony/maple pair, do you have an opinion on how those different fretboard woods influence the tone, and perhaps with a conparison to the usual Pau Ferro? I'm curious.
  12. Think this must be the culprit!
  13. Funny you should say this... PXL_20250418_085145073.mp4
  14. Hole In My Shoe - Traffic
  15. John said he's planning to potentially re-release the circuit in a standard enclosure at some point in the future. Its very impractical 🤣
  16. Here we have my Trondheim Audio Skarbass One pedal for sale. Recently purchased from Basschat user @bassadder this is in as new condition save for the addition of Velcro on the bottom. Great little pedal, interesting eq options - very musical, nice ‘one knob’ compressor, and a drive that goes from subtle to gnarly. There are loads of great video reviews online by better players than me. Why am I selling? Well as good as it is, the drive isn’t going to kick the SansAmp off my small board, and I have all the tone shaping I need between the SansAmp and the EVS Stanley Clarke. Pedal comes in original box and price includes UK delivery.

  17. Standing in the shadows of Motown. The book you can listen and read. The stories are of interest, and variety of songs from simple to complicated.
  18. Ditto.... I just keep looking at this and remembering what I was like drooling over this exact model 25yrs ago. It's simply stunning (and it's practically being given away at that price).
  19. A bit too far for me to collect, but my first bass came from J G Windows, happy memories!
  20. You want compression that sounds like you want it to sound. You can either disappear down the compression rabbit hole or learn to do it with your fingers. At low volume your slap sounds are less bassy to the ear (Fletcher Munson). The extra HF in the slap is welcomed. Everything is coming out uncompressed. Life is good. The slapped bass overdriving the preamp is your problem? You turn down the input gain and turn up the loud knob. What happens then? Turn down some of the bass EQ!
  21. First run through last night for a side project that supports the Hulla band at their festival every year. It's a subset of the main band and we only play the one gig each year. The rehearsals are usually few and far between as everyone has other things they are doing, but its worked out well in the end each time we've done the gig. Last night was meant to be just a chance to go through some of the songs, see what's working and what isn't, settle in our newest member on sax and set the scene for the rehearsals to come. We warmed up with some songs from last year's set and then, completely unplanned, decided to give 'Baker Street' a go. It was on the 'possibles' list but we were going to leave it for a separate session as none of us have played it before. The sax player was quite nervous about doing it but it's a fun, relaxed atmosphere so we went ahead. And after one dodgy start we played a pretty good version all the way through until we realised we didn't know how to end it. 😀 The drummer has a purpose built soundproofed rehearsal space in his garden as he's quite busy with several big bands and depping work. It's just big enough for 5 people to squeeze in. I used my BAM200 into his 1x15 cab and my Ibanez EHB1000s to save hitting people with my headstock.

  23. I was going through the backing bands on Roots Archives looking at the Roots Radics , check out how many they backed, it’s amazing, also came across this
  24. A bit late to the party reading the comments , but it looks like everything is in order. mine is coming along , but I’ve got a ghost in the drum kit 😳 for some bizzare reason, half way in the intro, a random bar of drums bursts in , there is no midi in the track , and the only way I can do anything with it, is to kill the volume at the place it kicks in . I haven’t the faintest idea where why it is being triggered
  25. Is the MTD andrew chouche still for sale?
