  2. I have messaged Mike from Weldang and he seems like a top guy. Gave a very honest and helpful explanation of his pickups, knows his stuff. I don’t think they are what I’m looking for for this build, but I would defo look at them for a future build. Plus very reasonable pricing.
  3. The Harley Motor gig was fantastic. I was extremely happy with my playing and performance. We were clicking on all 6 cylinders Daryl
  4. Hi Dave, Bass pre-amp straight into the PA. Works well for acoustic gigs. Daryl
  5. Thanks for the info on the graphite neck guys. @Wolverinebass nice bass like the tone, you happy with the Herricks?
  6. Today
  7. It’s a really great & high end preamp isn’t it?! Amp sim’s sound massive and completely realistic & give you a great sound flat, but then the EQ options and contour switches can really add some flavour - I expect to see more love for the Plex, it’s great! (Altho the £519 price tag at Bass Direct is a bit wild 😕 but looking at other stuff out there for £300+ it’s worth the money!)
  8. Which one's the muppet?
  9. Got absolutely obsessed with Midnite Vultures. I’d list it as one of my all time favourite LPs. I remember it getting slated in the music press which always left me bemused. Such a remarkable talent.
  10. Gave Chelsea Monday a listen and worked out the opening riff (on guitar). Has the feel of a great finger exercise. Thanks for sharing paul_5.
  11. Barely used, in nearly mint condition. Very early serial number. No box. Can ship or can be picked up in London NW2. I just don't use it that much anymore so i'd rather it goes to a good home. Not really interested in trades. I can send more pictures upon request. Its a great pedal very pedalboard friendly and sounds awesome. The metering is helpful too.
  12. Very late to the party but yesterday an MJ5 arrived from Thomann, in vintage champagne- basically their version of shoreline gold. Some slight marks on the scratchplate and neck pickup but no issues with much else. It has the roasted maple fretboard- is the protector that comes it with strictly necessary? Gigged it twice already. Last night we had a tricky room to play in and I couldn’t really get a handle on the tone I’d set up, especially coming from a G&L ASAT which has been my mainstay for years, but tonight was much better. Sounds great, completely different flavour but enjoyed it. Also, much lighter and very well set up straight out the box. Got to get used to the pickup pan working the wrong way round and my fx patches are going to need a tweak, but it’ll be fun.

  14. Besides the IP theft each query takes a tonne of energy to process. Like a Cummins diesel rolling coal compared to a lean euro6 for a regular search engine query.
  15. Independence Day - Martina McBride
  16. I was just listening to Fugazi today too, what an awesome band and Joe is an underrated bass player, love his lines. Add Break to your list, top tune.
  17. Well that's mildly discouraging! But I've had good resuts with an Ampeg PF-50T 50W 2x6L6 head in a live band setting, plus people on here have had great experience gigging the Handbox WB-100, so I live in hope...
  18. Oh my lordy, whay have you started! I'm sure I dont look that old...
  19. TUNE Violence Domestica - Mr Bungle
  20. This stuff is all good fun but we’re ripping off the intellectual property of huge numbers of people doing this. ChatGPT aren’t paying to license this. Neither did they pay Studio Ghib for the manga stuff and a near limitless number of other things they’ve stolen. It’s fun and a I enjoy seeing the results, but ultimately, it’s theft, however the AI guys want to dress it up.
  21. Home Nucleonics - Strapping Young Lad
  22. You can now upload a photo to Chat GPT and pompt it to generate an image based on that image including adding musical instruments and specifying the person in the image to be shown as a puppet. eg I uploaded a headshot and entered the prompt: So let's see your you as a muppet. Here's mine
  23. So many questions… Is the E rattling only on an open note or when you finger a note? What does the rattle sound like? A metallic rattle will be very different to a woody “buzz”. Everyone says the same thing that you need to work though the bass from top to bottom. Start with the tuners, nut, string action, bridge, any pickup(s), end pin and then the structure of the bass (seams, etc). Then pick it up and shake it to make sure nothing is rattling around inside. If you’re still experiencing a buzz, who knows!
  24. paladino on bass ..rob allen.
