Separate preamp/power amp question. I want more volume...
Jack replied to Yorkshire Bottom End's topic in Amps and Cabs
Ok, that's pretty much as I understood it then, they are linked but there's a limit. -
Well, that's official - if you had any pending orders with Bax, you ain't getting it. You'll be added to the bottom of a very long list of creditors. "According to the administration of the bankrupt companies, you have placed an order. Unfortunately, due to the bankruptcy, this order can no longer be delivered. We regret that we are unable to convey more favourable news in this regard. Consequently, you have a claim in the bankruptcy of Bax-Shop.nl B.V. amounting to <amount>. If this amount is correct, no further action is required from you, and this amount will be recorded on the list of provisionally recognized concurrent bankruptcy claims."

Not had them side by side to compare and my memory is a bit impaired currently.

Was wondering if the GS might be having similar issues as it potentially uses the same HPF circuit.

Last but one time I tried to buy a keyboard from PMT was when they went through their 'lets not put prices on things so people can't compare us with the internet'. There were no staff around, I looked, they had a DX which is what I was after, but no price. So I didn't bother, I just assumed it was because it was way overpriced. I found out later they were equal to the best price, so I would have bought it then. Then next time I tried to buy a keyboard from PMT, again, there were no staff around. The Argon i was looking at was there, it took a while to wrok out how to get sound through their mixer, and I quite liked it, but I had a limited time, and it was loud with other people playing so I didn't get it. I got it some time later. I don't remember who, may have even been them. Wasn't good either way. Soon after that they moved (the bristol branch) to a place where I would have to go out of my way to get to, so I simply don't get there any more - bought my ME90B from there as I was going to bristol, I knew I wanted it and it was worth stopping to pick it up so I could use it that day.

SWR Silverado Special Extension Cab Question
BassBod replied to triggerthehorizon's topic in Amps and Cabs
I wouldn’t want to run lower than 4ohms, which is probably the internal load of the combo’s own speakers. For expansion options I would find another SWR head (Bass 350, or any of the Workingmans series) and drive that from the preamp of the combo (patched into effects return). -
No, it was the Finally v3.

Two awesome pedals for sale... Please note that I can generally only post things on Fridays but will endeavour to do better than that. ThorpyFX Camoflange V1. Boxed and in good condition. See velcro on the bottom. This is an absolutely immense analogue flanger. £160 posted Pics here: https://imgur.com/a/camoflange-MY0wYJf Gojira FX Mr Sparkle Drive (TS808 with bass boost switch and symetrical/asymetrical clipping switch). Nice graphics and awesome Mr Sparkle knobs. Comes with a nice big Mr Sparkle tin to keep it in as well. £70 posted Pics here: https://imgur.com/a/mr-sparkle-xBxjq4S Would consider trades for a decent bass preamp, something I can use direct-to-desk

NHM started following NAD Fender Bassman 800

I'll be interested to read your report back on this. I have the 500 which is the same other than slightly lower output power. It is a great amp, underrated. My only criticism is that you don't really need both the vintage and overdrive channels as you can replicate the vintage with the overdrive if you only need a single sound (which suits me) - but it is useful if your core sound is vintage, to be able to used overdrive as a boost on the footswitch or for a contrasting tone.

I see this image on the website which gives a bit of a better view of the decal, and this looks more convincing to me. You can see the decal edges better and the grain in the gold of the "Fender". Also, no offence to the photographer, but the blacklight photo isn't the best. I think if they did it face on and in a much darker room then you'd see something closer to the strat photo you posted. I'd bet money on it having been refinished from sunburst.

Just read quite an interesting article about pharmaceuticals. in short prices are capped in the us and eu so the rest of the world will have to eat the cost increases. in the us they will most likely have to reduce the r&d (which not only makes the cash but saves lives).

How did you rate the Haz Mutron to the Micro?

Short scale ?

Oh, that’s interesting. I need to get back in touch with him. Are you talking about the Grand Slampegg still? (Asking as I think you were talking about the Finally.)

Good suggestion. Will ask, thanks!

NewApril started following Moon 5 string *with new photos* and vids!

I really liked the natural finish on this one—reminds me a bit of my old 5-string. That demo video was great too, made it easy to get a sense of its tone. If you're showing it off elsewhere or documenting the refin journey, something like Nixplay could be handy to cycle through those clean shots and clips without clogging up folders or needing to scroll endlessly.

Just to come back to this. It turns out it wasn't the tube, apparently there was an issue with a couple of the pedals where the HPF became microphonic. Nathan was great to deal with, and I have a replacement which hopefully doesn't go the same way! Love the sound of the pedal though, adds so much richness.
