Flight Of The Rat - Deep Purple

I have the thumb rest, in fact I removed it when I got the bass a few weeks ago. I have the bridge and pick up covers as well. I think that one of the earlier posters is spot on about the colour, which has more of a yellow tone to the burst than one of the 60’s basses and therefore the black pickguard seems to match better. I have decided that I will leave the bass as is, it sounded excellent when I played it yesterday. I will just need to have the wiring checked as I think there might be a loose connection somewhere which is causing an earth buzz.

I have a brand new LHZ 03 preamp for sale. I bought two, but have changed my mind about one of the basses I was going to use them in. I paid £175 plus delivery from bass direct and ideally id like £150 incl mainland UK postage. The contents of the box are shown in the picture, this is the one I’m keeping. The one you’ll receive hasn’t even been opened. You are welcome to collect if you are in the Bristol area

Up for sale is my stingray 5 in natural with piezo pickup. Just not being used at the moment due to other basses taking priority so it needs to go to a more deserving home. Amazing stingray tones, but the piezo gives it a little more versatility. some small blemishes here and there which I will photograph in more detail. competitively priced st £1250, collection preferred but can arrange meet up within reason.

Warwick Rockbass Streamer LX5 ***PRICE DROP NOW £600***

Bought brand new back in December 2023, features all the bells and whistles you’d expect from the GK stable - 4 band EQ, contour switch (for scooped mids) and boost switch. I’ve used it a fair bit this year, but the only issue with it is something was dropped on it at some point, denting one of the rear corners. Doesn’t affect the sound or the structure of the casing, so otherwise it is in great condition. It has recessed side handles and casters attached which are easily removed, and comes with a custom made padded cover made by HotCovers. These retail for around £1100 new (without the cover), looking to shift it pretty rapidly as I have gigs pending, so the asking price is £700. I am open to sensible offers…. Selling because it’s too big for my needs. Located on the Isle of Wight, but can meet at any of our ferry ports (Portsmouth/Southampton/Lymington/Southsea) for collection. I can also personally deliver for an additional £50 to cover my ferry fare, within a sensible distance, London or an equivalent location distance wise would probably be my limit. Thanks for looking. 😊

Laney Digbeth 500 head and matching 410 Vertical cab. Great sounding versatile rig, but due to an ongoing back and knee issue/injury I'm looking to downsize, I know what I am looking for so if unless anyone wants to trade for a Fender Rumble 800 Stage Combo, it’ll be a cash only sale. Head is 500w and has 3 channels (FET/Tube/mix) with selectable EQ and tilt switch (which is really useful). Has some marks in the tolex which I can send pics of. The Digbeth DBV410-4 is designed for the bass player who demands a powerful and dynamic single compact cabinet set up. Loaded with 4x10” vintage-voiced HH Black Label series ceramic drivers, the DBV410-4 is designed to accentuate the impressive midrange punch and tone of the drivers working together in a tuned cabinet. It delivers superb top-end tone thanks to the 1” LaVoce Compression driver, and its warm vintage tone is at home on any stage or studio gig. Cab has been gigged and has some light marks on the tolex, which I can send over pics of. Both items function perfectly. I would ideally like the both to go together as I really do think they’re a perfect match, I’ll chuck in a D’addario/Planet Waves speakon cable. If you wanting one or the other I’d be looking at £250 for the head and £350 for the cab or the both together for £550. Based in Saltney, collection preferred but meet-up/delivery within reason can be agreed. Any trial welcome.

He's swapping the pickguard not routing for a J pickup, can just put the original parts back on. Looks like the bass is already missing the thumbrest and pickup/bridge covers so isn't 100% original.
-
I now have a lot of respect for Schecter gear based on a used guitar (not sure of the model) I purchased a few days ago on a whim. If the basses are as good, I'd have one. Maybe I'll actually see a bass in the flesh to try.

Given the weight of that set up I think felling trees is more the solution 🤣 -
If it was sold, market expectation is for it to be pulled apart for the pictures anyway? The OP has indicated he would keep all the original parts. Once back together, the prospective new buyer would know no difference.

Yeah oc2 is still on my board as well, it's it's own thing. The overload switch when the tone is lower is great with a filter or just to get the gnarly synth tone, I like the tone higher up without the overload switch, seems to sound more like the criminally underrated Aguilar octamizer with the octave tone up, but with the functionality advantages of the sub switch with the independent volume. So that coupled with the oc2 doing the solo -1 sound does everything for me. I had a FTelettronica Tetractave in its place before but it's more of an oc2/mutron only with the sub solo - amazing pedal tho, especially for the money.
-
I think that every amp has its own inherent voicing. I like the "clean" channel of my EBS Microbass 3 - it just adds more authority to the sound.

Thousands of years ago the rock for Stonehenge was moved from Wales to Salisbury by a system of rolling it along felled trees. If you buy a few mates a drink maybe they will help?
