  2. This is a killer rig. I had the exact same setup and I have also dealt with Matt many times.
  3. This is a beautiful bass and Matt is an absolute gem.
  4. Agree with Beedster. The thing is if he wants to do a huge guitar w@nkathon he can do it at home and stick it on YouTube. That is not what you are paid to be performing at Weddings and the like for. We all have to compromise on our ideal to get paying gigs, so the sound should be balanced and clean so that it's enjoyable for the audience who have booked and paid for a function band. As others have said, I have no idea why a lot of bands can't have this grown up conversation.
  5. Without wishing to open the can, I particularly enjoyed the marketing copy in this at Andertons: https://www.andertons.co.uk/bacci-guitars-amrita-woodworm-michael-league-signature-maple/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADujoUqVDRQwkN1bWBZcEzip5ciCn&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzrzABhD8ARIsANlSWNOy6ZK_8WuK66VSG5h7Z3UTqmDDDEChjBNvC49jOeUAn4kUKGS7GKkaApxEEALw_wcB
  6. This is very nice. As a G&L aficionado in training I approve πŸ˜€ Entirely unselfishly I ask, will this be coming along to the NW + Scotland bass bash?

  8. They have fixed the bridge and machine heads issue, that @BassApprentice refers to, in the latest Sonic version. I’m not saying you won’t want to replace them with higher quality items but it will be a lot easier to do the swap with a 5 hole Fender style bridge mount, etc. The pickup is still a Strat 6 string thing under the plastic cover. Most people want to replace it eventually and there are various options ranging from purpose made (expensive) replacements and cheaper Strat rail pickups. I had one of the previous models with the two saddle bridge and toy machine heads. After wrestling with the bridge and tuner replacements, I fitted a Tone Rider split P bass pickup with a custom scratch plate (off eBay). After these mods it was a very nice little bass. I imagine the Sonic versions will be just as much fun, with less hassle involved in the upgrades.

  11. Yamaha Motion MB-II Medium Scale Bass Finish/Color: Cream White Weight: 3.5 Kilogramms Nut Width: 1.5β€³ Scale Length: 32β€³ Fretboard: Rosewood Frets: 24 General Neck Shape: C-Shape Pickup Configuration: 2 Double Coil / Passive Vol, Vol, Tone Strings: Thomastik Jazz Flatwound Medium Scale Up for sale is this Yamaha medium scale bass from the late 80s. This little bass punches well above its weight class. I have used it on cruise gigs in a variety of musical situations (Pop, Jazz, Soul from smaller to bigger stages) and it always delivered. It has a full and punchy sound with quite pickups. Neck and fretwork are in great shape and it allows for a very low action. The truss rod works flawlessly but the neck never moves. It does have some battle scars, nothing too extreme and nothing that would take away from its functionality. The bass fits in a guitar gigbag which makes it great for traveling. Its stringed up with Thomastik Jazz Flatwounds which imho are a great match for this bass. If you are looking for a sweet lightweight medium scale bass that spares your shoulders and doesn’t break the bank, this vintage Yamaha could end that search. Price is 420 Euros, its located in Germany and shipping throughout Europe is no problem.
  12. Wheels.
  13. My neice got one of the new ones recently. It's really nice. Plays really well with a slim jazz neck profile. The out of the box setup was really good. Normal bridge, small tuners that seem to hold well and don't feel too cheap in use. The coral colour is very bright and no images that I've seen do it justice - almost fluorescent in person!

  15. Cracking resuscitation Sir!
  16. Just to be clear the price I am asking is Β£3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.
  17. Ah thanks. That makes sense. I've never had an expensive enough bass to need one. πŸ˜†
  18. Yeah. I will take them off before shipping. They come off safely
  19. I've been playing in bands for over 40 years and I'm still amazed at how many people - myself included - find it hard to have a grown up conversation about the core currency of the band, the sound, and that when it does finally come up, it tends to do so contaminated by emotions such as anger, resentment, and bitterness. If I was the OP I'd simply say, calmly and relatively unemotionally to the whole band, that despite the fact you clearly enjoy being in the band, the sound doesn't work for you, and that you'd like to discuss options. If you enjoy being in the band do not say anything like '....or I'll walk', because the guitarist might see that as an opportunity to retain his status. Also do not make it about the guitarist, make it about the sound, while one person might be at the desk, the whole band retain at least some if not most responsibility unless this is a fully pro-act. Don't do it when you and the band are tired at the end of a rehearsal, or stressed ahead of a gig, don't do it via WhatsApp, just choose your moments and have a calm and respectful in-person chat with them all πŸ‘
