We struggle with consistency. We can be really good at one gig and lay an egg at the next . Daryl

Oil City do an 'Overkill' jazz bridge pickup that sounds like a Rickenbacker - That was the one I was thinking of (11k), as I'm not really into passive jazz pickups. Could probably make a set if you drop him a PM. He also wounds standard jazz pickups with more output called a 'Hardman'.

Mini overdrive pedals that don't lose low end

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated -
Sounds like a nightmare @BigRedX. I meant contact you afterwards. Luckily we’re used to playing in a more acoustic style too so we had a serviceable plan B. That’s a really top tip on the EQ though. I did think the soundman looked a bit young and new to it all.

The best bit about the video is showing that 15 inch cones do not have "a sound" and that they can be very very different. As much as I am a Mark Bass fan, their 15 inch cabs have always been a bit flubby. I did the common 151HF with the CSM 102p combo for quite a while and I never could et the EQ to work well with the 10 inch cones and the 15. Sounded much better with one or the other. Eventually I got a pair of MB 121 Club cabs instead and used them for a while. Two identical cabs = dead easy to EQ without a problem.

Marvin started following Life Guitars Company (Exeter) closed down

They seemed to start out as a second hand/recycling guitar shop. A few years ago they moved into Mansons old shop in Exeter. However, it seems that the shop has been cleared and remains closed of now. There seems to be mixed opinions about the shop and its owners and business practices from comments on social media. Anyway, that's another guitar shop gone.

Out of interest. . . . what's the weight?
-
I’d say probably not worth having both, if you find your QC is under utilised (you hardly use the 8 footswitches, or you constantly wish it was smaller, or it’s just doing a little bit of processing on an already busy board) then it could be a good option to downsize the footprint. Else you’ve got two wildly different Capture ecosystems and workflows, personally I’d find that quite annoying but YMMV.

Between the 70's and the mid 80's I used Fender, Ampeg and Peavey 15" cabs. Then 20 years of EV15's in Dynacord and Mesa Boogie cabs (IMO the best of the lot). But with the advent of "properly" designed 12" cabs I don't see the need for anything larger.

Darkglass Element, then you’ve got 2 headphones out, the aux in which I use as a live IEM feed and bluetooth for home practice.

If you want a smaller footprint, you're a fan of Darkglass pedals, and you don't mind having a single FX loop and fewer switches, it has the potential to be a pretty compelling alternative. If Darkglass can broaden the range of amps and effects, get Bluetooth working and maybe provide a user-friendly capture method, it would be an easy sell for bassists. I'm glad it's here as it might get Neural to up their game a little. It's a cool-looking unit with a bunch of potential but I'd suggest hanging around and seeing what it looks like after the next patch or two.
