  1. Past hour
  2. Legends are out of my wheelhouse (as corporate types say) but someone who knows will be along soon enough. W is the Korean factory that has always made them. I know that. I would then guess it's 2017 and the 329th of that year. But that is just a guess. Wait for someone who knows.
  3. My regular barber wants to start a band playing Status Quo songs in the style of Motorhead. It could be a winning idea. The songs are OK, they just sound boring because of the way they're played
  4. Traveller 151p cab. 8Ohm, 400w, good condition, hardly used. Collection from Milton Keynes or reasonable meet up only.
  5. Thanks! It’s the only way I play it! I can’t imagine any other way to play it. All of my basses are wired to play in stereo.
  6. Thanks Bill, I appreciate your help.
  7. Hi the bass weighs 4kg /8.8lds
  8. In the words of Col Bill Kilgore, "Get your boys back, it's going to be a big one..."
  9. Not enough to make it worthwhile. And it's not underpowering the cab per se. It just lacks sufficient power to overcome the cab's poor sensitivity in the lows. You're fighting against Hoffman's Iron Law. It's a futile effort.

  11. @krispn they're pretty punchy, certainly bigger than most jazz basses I’ve played. I think I might just set it up for BEAD for an upcoming project, pop a stellartone pot in and it'd be perfect.
  12. An Ash bodied model came up for sale in a UK shop (that shall remain nameless) and, I had such a hard time getting any information about the bass and was told the action was an issue that I left it well alone. It was almost as if they didn’t want to sell anything! The PB70US-ASH is “the daddy”, I have room in my heart for one of those ☺️
  13. Watching with interest... I had similar thoughts. Synth Phone App, with a Mini K'bd type thing as controller (Akai Mini thingy with a Moog App would be smashing!)
  14. I want to drop Paranoid (I have problems playing it due to a damaged right hand which means rapid alternate picking is problematic). However, the drummer is a Sabbath fan so for now it stays in.
  15. Lovely Sire bass off to a new home! Thank you Neil! What a pleasant hang out
  16. Very nice indeed, I nearly bought one of those a while back but a AVRI 62 stack knob that @walshy had caught my eye so I went for that, congrats wot
  17. I can confirm that yea the bass has now been collected, money has changed hands! Thank you for all the interest, just had an enjoyable hang out with a fellow chatter! Thank You Neil!
  18. Hi everyone. I wondered, do any of you have experience with using a downloadable synth app for tablet / PC or phone or, even a stand-alone micro synth / drum machine? Yes, I am a bassist but I'm looking to add some occasional synth melodies and electronic drum snare samples to compliment / fill out my bands sound - just to give it a slight and occasional pop vibe. I'm not interested in a synth pedal for my bass, that's definitely not something I want to add into the bass rhythm. I've got it into my head that I could download an app onto one of my devices, then, using some kind of adaptor, link it into our mixer - is this possible? If so, could somebody give me advice on how I can achieve this. What kind of equipment do I need? If using a tablet or PC, what kinda gear do I need to connect to a mixer? Can I hook it up through a looper? Like I said, its just for occasional usage and so I be wanting to do this on a budget - if possible. Do any of you have any recommendations for any type of equipment or, even ideas for alternative ways of doing this? I'd be thrilled if someone has the answer to this. Thanks everyone in advance!
  19. Oh wow I’d never heard of that guy, but not someone I’ll be checking out based on Danny’s video. jonny

  23. I shall probably regret selling this but I'm operating on a "one in, one out" basis. It's an extremely good Jazz bass, full stop. The neck is slim and fast. Nicely finished and an absolute pleasure to play. I had flats on it for a while and it punches so far above its price point. It's got new (Sun 6th Apr) Legacy (Rotosound) Nickel 45-105 strings. It's been set up to Fender J specs (Sun 6th Apr). It's had the fingerboard done with Montypresso. It's got a high mass bridge (original BBOT bridge included). The cavities have been copper lined. 4.2kg I've got all the proper packaging so can ship at cost. If you want to try it, it's in Gloucester.
