  2. Great pedal which is not really getting used. Think I have the box somewhere. It's in great condition bar one missing screw (no idea why but the base is solid as you like). Good quality velcro. About £215 new so good price to take into account lost screw. Heading away on holiday on Monday but can send before then if anyone wants a quick sale.
  3. Someone in the Netherlands is selling two (!) Peavey TB Raxx preamps: https://link.marktplaats.nl/m2254244925 Ad says they're already on hold, but not sure if that's about both. Same seller also has a H&K Fortress preamp with poweramp and floorboard for sale.
  4. Exactly. It wouldn't happen nowadays because of the smoking ban, but there are other issues. I always tell people no drinks on top of the amp. Some give me a funny look, but if that drink goes over, the fan will suck the spillage into the amp and bang. New amp time.
  5. I use the Rumble 100 with my Shen. I have an LR Baggs between them. I struggle with settings that make the string volumes similar without sounding artificial. Best so far: I notch between D and G and keep the preamp gain low. I use the Rumble's master to increase volume -- using the Baggs volume knob above nominal causes really crazy bad sound.
  6. I was going to make this point too. I used to have an old Park valve head which was designed for bass but was bought off me by a guitarist who reckoned it was the beat amp he'd ever played though. I assume this is why the original Fender Bassman amps are so popular with guitarists too. GLWTS
  7. If a small plastic spatula is a system, then yes… I’ve started cutting it in half lengthways to have thin strips on either side of a pedal. It seems to work. For the most part I’ve been able to peel off Dual Lock without too many issues (apart from blisters) but there seems to be a point where once it’s been on a while it becomes trickier to remove.

  9. Immaculate EBS Fafner 2 in Gator 3u rack bag/case with EBS RM4 footswitch. In good working order and I had a new tube put into it in January. This amp is solid state in all its glory. It can do everything and will not break a sweat in any scenario. It has a tube drive section that can go from subtle grit to full blown fuzz and it even has the option to apply the tube to the clean channel for that extra warmth. It also has a great onboard compressor along with a multitude of EQ, character, DI and FX loop options. The Character, Filter, Drive and Mute functions can all be switched on and off with the RM4 footswitch which is also in good working order. The amp will deliver 310W into an 8 ohm load, 610W into a 4 ohm load and 750W into a 2 ohm load. This is a big solid state amp and it has outstripped every class D amp I have ever owned in terms of weight of notes and volume. The rack bag/case has a large external pocket (big enough to accommodate the RM4 footswitch along with power cable, instrument cable, speaker cables etc), front and rear zip panels and padded shoulder strap which makes carrying the amp easier. I absolutely love this amp, I really do think it’s the best amp I’ve ever owned. Both of my bands have moved to IEMs now so I only need a small amp with a small cab for stage monitoring, I just don’t need something as big and powerful as this any more, as much as it pains me to say it. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. Collection is also possible, I live just outside Milton Keynes approximately 15 minutes from junctions 14 and 15 of the M1. I did the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.
  10. On the subject of Dual lock, has anyone got a method of unlocking it from itself? Currently I've been using a butter knife to pry them apart but it's squashing the little mushroom things.
  11. A CS jazz always feels like getting home and putting on your sweatpants. So comfortable.. Enjoy!
  12. Very nice indeed, congrats
  13. S'what I said, a bird scarer. ...
  14. Well that’s an absolute Bobby Dazzler. That guard! Nice one.
  15. NBD: Refin '65 Jazz. It's an awesome playing and sounding instrument. It has the most beautiful tort pickguard. It still has a brazilian rosewood fretboard, but pearl dots. The pots date to week 12 of 1965. It appears to be all original, except for a refinish and the screws that hold down the pickup covers (not pictured). Added nerd pictures that show how thoroughly the finish is stripped. There is no single sign to find of the previous (sunburst probably) finish that it started with. Or it started out as a blonde finish, which seems unlikely. In one of the pictures you see the round routermark on the back, which is also present near the back strapbutton. The square marking in the neckpocket is also a sign of authenticity. It's a pretty light bass too, that was an important feature on the checklist.
  16. Will Gregory (of Goldfrapp fame) is doing a vintage synth gig at St George’s Bristol. I am going.
  17. Hi folks I just saw this post https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/instruments_de_musique/2966166271 I still keep an eye out for Vigier things and I thought these pickups looked interesting. The single coil Benedetti pickups are indeed fantastic but can be noisy in some applications and before they introduced the hum reducing circuit. Cheers ped
  18. The Obvious Child - Paul Simon
  19. At a jam a few years back, before the smoking ban, a friend was up using my back line. I usually go to the stage, between bass players, to help with the lead, EQ, tuning pedal etc. So I walked up to the amp to find a lighted cigarette on the side of the cab! It hadn't burned down far enough to cause any damage, but that’s what you can get when other people, even friends, use your gear!!!
  20. Born To Be Alive - Patrick Hernandez
  21. Pro Co Turbo Rat. Good condition and fully working. Adapter included to get around a pesky centre positive mini jack socket power supply. (Adapter allows standard 9v centre negative barrel socket power input). £80 posted (ONO)
