  2. Last experience I had on Reverb was trying to land a pair of Alembic pickups for an upcoming project and the guy was pretty unreasonable just because I was in China. I could arrange and pay for my own door to door shipping and he still wanted 30 bucks. He eventually sold them for $100 less than he wanted from me. Apart from that, I've had good experiences. I don't think Reverb can be judged on the people who sell on their platform. I'm also aware that some retailers deliberately exploit Reverb by posting items with unrealistic prices just so people will go to the retailers website directly.
  3. I've, technically, bought one bass off Reverb, but only because I spotted a bass I wanted that was being sold by a dealer dealing through it. I then went to the dealer's own website and the bass was £800 less than advertised on Reverb, I expect due to their selling fees...Deal done and, although not needed, I expect the aftercare would have been much better if I'd dealt with the dealer directly rather than through Reverb. I'm not deluded in thinking I'm the only person who's done this.
  4. It had ridiculous prices, I seem to remember, even for London but they had lots of media types and celebs ect as customers who had money to burn. It was the late '80's, and if you had it you were encouraged to flaunt it. I just had a quick rummage on the internet and I'm pleased to report that American Classics is still going and, yes, everything they sell is still ridiculously expensive and over-priced for what it is, just like it should be. I expect that nowadays middle aged men going through a fashion crisis are their customer base.

  6. Have you found any sixes in there, by any chance? I'm having project-type thoughts.
  7. I needed a battery box and output jack for my 2016 EMBB Sterling so emailed string and things It took a couple of months of very slow back and forth but eventually I received a box the size of a small suitcase ( I kid you not ) with the parts I needed. I can't remember exactly how much but it was roughly £22 delivered for both parts which seemed fairly reasonable 🤔
  8. @Muzz please check your PM's. Ta.
  9. I'm kinda intrigued by the empress phaser. But I can't seem to find any demos with bass. Do you know of any?

Sorry fellow low enders. I seem to have bought the last Anagram Sweetwater had. I suspect most here order from a more European based distributor. Don't know how their stock is doing. But I consider myself lucky. Yes, I have a tracking number.
  11. See you all there! Si
  12. Screwing rubber feet onto shiny new Markbass cabs might affect your warranty, and with a lot of lightweight thinner walled cabs, there often isn't a great deal of wood to hold a screw for a decent sized rubber foot. I recently road tested an LFSYS Goodwood cab and it had no feet, but did have hard plastic stackable corners. At under 9kg, there wasn't a lot of weight to 'plant' it on a hard wood floor. The simple solution was to use a 'mighty mat' non slip carpet mat, the type that can be bought cheap at most DIY or convenience stores. Protects the cab, stops it slipping around, also protects the flooring, and no need for rubber feet. Saying that, I will always fit decently large rubber feet on bigger and used cabs and amp heads, even if they have stackable plastic corners like Markbass kit has. For brand new stuff with a warranty, I'd prefer using a mighty mat.

  14. ...... Then spray it bright orange and put a dodgy wig on it.
  15. I bought one almost identical to this from A1 Music in Manchester in 1992. I won't tell you what I paid back then..... I loved mine to bits and played it for quite a few years. Good luck with it.

  17. I sold a pedal to Matt, and all was good.
  18. Final price drop to £1800 before potential withdrawal!
  19. Hi everyone! Selling my Trickfish Trilobite preamp! Absolutely awesome piece of kit and super versatile with its dual channel setup. Been experimenting with different preamps and have just decided to settle on a different one so this is no longer needed. Still in excellent condition so asking for £550 collected from NW London (Pinner). Happy to deliver for extra cost. DM me if you’re interested! James

  20. Hey, @chris_b! The weight according to Sire’s FAQs is 4.24kg. If I’ve done my measuring correctly then it’s around 18.5mm spacing string to string at the bridge. Happy to be corrected by anyone more in the know than me though! Hope that helps!
  21. The thing is, it's not "AI", at least not what the originators of that term envisioned back in the 1960s. That's why the actual name of this thing we're talking about is Generative AI. It just consumes huge amounts of existing data and basically rewords it. It's not sentient. It's not intelligent. It's the equivalent of a traditional search that instead of listing the actual source of the results just produces a single summary of the most common results. That's why it's so susceptible to poisoning - get it to ingest enough dodgy source material and you can make it spout any old b*llocks you want it to.
  22. Yep, thats good, but the same guy who impersonated you impersonated someone else this morning, so still out there.

    Darkglass Anagram

Well, I have 2 Quad Cortex. I recommend it for bass. Theres plenty in there. I use a few external pedals I prefer like a compressor, Chorus, envelope and the Pog III. The other QC runs all that and a Pog II. I have way too many boards now. If they all didn't sound so f'n great I'd stick with just one. But hey! Where's the fun in that?
  24. Ever wanted that mega Bi phase action like a musitronic! But smaller and cheaper. These are difficult to find, so my last bump.
  25. Nope. I remember going to Kensington Market quite a lot in I'd guess about 87/88 but mainly trailing after industrial goth girls so we would have been looking at different stuff. Well, I was looking at them but they were looking at things in purple and black! I know American Classics because a mate of my dad's who was well into his clothes went in there sometimes on the way to Stamford Bridge but I was that bit too young to have any money to be looking properly. I grew up in Sidcup so Kensington was a bit of a trip and you had to pay for the tube. Covent Garden or the Soho were just a jumped train to Charing Cross so we spent more time up there. You've got me all misty-eyed now.
  26. I started it, no apologies tbh 🤣
