When a band plays over their allotted time, sometimes the sound person will shut them off - but sometimes they won't, and every band after them has to cut their sets short. Either way, there's no excuse for it. I can't control other bands, but I can make damn sure that my band are not being arseholes. I use mine as a timer - it resets to 00:00 whenever it's switched on, so it always shows how many minutes have elapsed since then.
  3. Yeah the daisy is just taking up space in my case, I got an isolated supply. Also selling the 5 port isolated power supply soon 🙂
  4. The H4 has a greater headroom too, which would be good for noisy bands.
  5. All done. That's 40DCs out (and up for sale already so you can buy them without nasty fees) and a 40P and 40J popped in. This is the third LHZ-03 I've fitted and it was a bit different as the new EMGs come with the clever DuPont connectors meaning I saved a fortune on electric as I only needed to solder 3 joints at the jack socket. If anyone wants an LHZ-03 or other preamp fitting, I'm available. I won't charge extra for the luminous green cable ties, battery blanket or fancy printed labels, they're all part of the service. This one is off to rehearsal for the first time tomorrow. That lot never react well when they see something new, so hopefully she behaves herself and makes some new friends.
  6. I use the H4e now. Love the fact that it doesn’t need setting up compared previous recorders I’ve used.
  7. For sale is my Nordstrand Audio Starlifter Preamp/DI. This is an absolutely fantastic preamp - Bass is 70hz, Parametric mids and Treble is at 6khz but it’s by no means your standard 3B EQ - it is incredibly musical, and it’s virtually impossible to get a bad sound from it. The best feature are the 2 preset contours, “Modern” and “Vintage” - I’ll post some videos below, but this is Andy Irvine’s preamp of choice for live work which says a lot about how good it is - honestly if you plug a passive bass into it (or active bass flat) and then select the Modern contour, the sound is absolutely perfect. I suggest having a look through YouTube at all the different vids on it, you’ll hear how good it is These are £285 new at BassDirect and worth every penny and more, I’d like to keep it but I’m having to have a bit of a clear out unfortunately. I bought it on here a couple of months back and so I’ll let it go for the same price I paid. I bought it without a power supply as it’s a 12v AC power supply, so I have bought one and include it in the sale £130 + £5 postage
  8. I've also just shot a full deep dive video review for Bass Gear magazine about this incredible product too:- https://asiaudio.com
  9. I recorded this video ages ago but have since upgraded my solution. When I get a moment to finish it, I'll get a video up online as it's really rather good! My system and the 3DME below offers huge advantages over having microphones on either side of the stage and I love using them both.
  10. I always get Anxiety when i courier. Which is why i pack extremely well and pay for Am delivery next day. Id need to sell my stingray though, ive a 4HH with a rosewood board (i want a maple) ive a potential local buyer, but not worth doing if you wont post. An extra £130 isnt doable, nor a 10+ hour round trip.
  11. Here we have my Trondheim Audio Skarbass One pedal for sale. Recently purchased from Basschat user @bassadder this is in as new condition save for the addition of Velcro on the bottom. Great little pedal, interesting eq options - very musical, nice ‘one knob’ compressor, and a drive that goes from subtle to gnarly. There are loads of great video reviews online by better players than me. Why am I selling? Well as good as it is, the drive isn’t going to kick the SansAmp off my small board, and I have all the tone shaping I need between the SansAmp and the EVS Stanley Clarke. Pedal comes in original box and price includes UK delivery.

  12. Ditto.... I just keep looking at this and remembering what I was like drooling over this exact model 25yrs ago. It's simply stunning (and it's practically being given away at that price).
  13. That's what backstabbing is about. 😁
  14. The sun is shining, those wonderful summer days are just around the corner, and what better than a little alfresco bass playing and this is the perfect bass for those days.
  15. TC Electronic Mojomojo overdrive pedal/preamp. Fantastic pedal that punches way above its weight - does Motown/B15 through to heavy OD (or at least what I would consider heavy OD!) Runs on normal 9v pedal board power, dual lock underneath which can be removed if you prefer £30 (inc postage) Good video on it here:
  16. Sorry, I forgot to reply here. It's still for sale. See you Monday :))
  17. So jealous, I search daily for 1983 Stingrays. Stupidly took my time on one that Bass Bros had a while back and missed out.
  18. Stunning, loving the colour. What a the weight on that one?
  19. I used to use a small digital recorder strapped to the lead singers mic stand, or placed roughly in the centre of the stage. This feeds back to the XR18 and goes out to the IEM mixes (mine in stereo). This also gives you the ability to record the gig as well (although not much use if it's a silent stage).
  20. That one's come round again after 19 hours! 😆😆😆🤘
  21. Yes, very much this! When I used to work in the centre of Truro there was a "busker" who "played" sort of flamenco-y guitar, and he'd more or less set up right outside our office (we were on the first floor). I say "played" because it was blantantly obvious that he wasn't playing live but was miming over a pre-recorded version, and his PA was so obnoxiously loud that we knew that within certain times of day whenever we'd get phone calls we'd have to tell callers - including important clients - that we'd have to call them back later because holding a conversation would be impossible without yelling over the noise. We complained to the council several times, and on his Facebook page, but all to nought.
  22. Thanks! im gutted to let it go, but life is lifeing!
  23. Many people would shirk at these duties, you manfully stood up and were counted, about five bottles by my recollection....
  24. In answer to the questions: 1 Kind of. I think the pickups are now wired in parallel but were originally series, so this gives a slightly different flavour. Also both pickups are slightly further back than a regular jazz spacing (perhaps the rear is closer to 70s) so not quite the jazz sound but close overall. 2 I don't know, but I think it might be New Jazz Hybrid. I've got a feeling I tried a white one of these in the gallery and Martin may have mentioned it then.... Or I could just be imagining that.... It would make sense as most of the bass is a kind of evolution of a regular jazz Hope that's helpful
