Lord Sausage replied to lurksalot's topic in Recording
I think the mistake i've made is there is just too much going on and too much of it. What I'll do is take some inspiration from the next picture and put it into this and enter it next month.😆 -

I shimmed my P bass with half a quality business card under the first two screws (bit nearest the neck). Worked perfectly and my P bass has never sounded so good, setup was super easy after that. All I did was loosen the strings off a lot, find the correct sized screwdriver and undid all the screws, slipped the business card in then put the screws back in. Only had to screw through a bit of cardboard which was very easy. It added a little bit of angle which was all that was needed. Found that tip on a website somewhere, and it was free! I took it out again to see if it was a fluke and no it wasn't....

A thought to clear down to a simpler setup has been accelerated and yet at the same time somehow completely upended due to the unexpected arrival of a certain new darkglass multi effect unit! However, I promised the missus I will sell before I buy, thus I present a smorgasbord of pedals for sale that are to various degrees surplus to requirements now. Although upfront disclaimer; I may withdraw whatever's left once I hit the breakeven point so best be quick! So without further ado, i have the following, in no particular order of excitement: Sansamp BDDI programmable - no box, great little unit served me well for many a gig! Three separate presets for different tones, I used to run it svt/svt but louder/full distortion. £160 inc P&P MXR bass compressor - best one ive used for one pedal transparent comp, meter is good touch too, used to let me know when my bass' dodgy wiring was playing up again - £110 inc P&P C4 Source Audio synth - tons of tones to amaze and delight unsuspecting bass mates/punters, boxed. £160 inc P&P Ampeg SGT DI - mint cond. great pedal and swiss army knife, bought it brand new from Andertons about 9 months ago and very versatile for ampless gigs or recording or just a glorified dirt pedal like i use it. Actually i hope this one doesn't go... Got the OG box and PSU with it. - £270 inc P&P Boss OC-5 - mint condition. look its not an OC-2 but again it's less than 12 month old and boxed. £100 inc P&P Zvex Mastotron - Mint condition. brutal fuzz pedal as you'd want/expect. Boxed £90 inc P&P Darkglass Microtubes X - Mint condition, my favorite disto, makes me enjoy playing brightside again, boxed. £160 inc P&P TC Electronics micro chorus - great little unit. Cant really fault it for size/price. £50 inc P&P. Empress MK2 ParaEQ - rolls royce of a pedal, endless tweakability and hi/lo pass/shelf etc. Mint cond - £260 inc P&P Pedaltrain 2 inc hardcase - brand new unused board plus pretty good nick case (less than 12 months use). Basically I bought for the hardcase only to replace my battered softcase and it made sense to pay slightly more for the version with a new board hence its lack of use. £140 inc P&P. Zvex Wooly Mammoth - proper hand painted by Myrold first edition, none of that printed on crap you get nowadays.Difficult to price up since they are rarer than actual mammoths but...£190 inc P&P? I dunno, again hope this doesnt go... Boss ODB-3 - classic OD pedal, sounds great by itself! £45 inc P&P Dropper / wireless in pics not for sale I just couldnt be bothered to crop them out. Payment via paypal or Cash on collection from Yateley Hants. Cheers all!

That's fair, I can see how that'd work from an engineering standpoint. I guess 'inferior' is a poor choice of word without a good deal more qualification, isn't it. Better to simply say I personally don't like them for a number of reasons, both practical and aesthetic, and much prefer my cabs to have metal corners and rubber feet. Is your preference for the plastic all-in-ones such that you'd actively avoid metal/rubber?

Very nice Andy. Hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow. Looks like excellent quality dark rosewood on the fingerboard too. It's a pity Andertons didn't bring in any of the trans white or trans red finishes. According to the manufacturer's website, the reds are all sold out, but the trans whites are still available at £295.21. (Not sure whether they'd still come through Andertons, but anyway, you could get two like my Lake Placid Blue one for that!)
