I won't use Reverb any more. A few years ago I bought a guitar and left a 4* review for the seller - one star knocked off because it arrived with a ding that wasn't disclosed (I asked the seller about condition and was told no scratches or dings) and the setup was so bad it was virtually unplayable. The seller left me 1* feedback as a buyer, with the comment being the text of the email I sent explaining the issue... so I had 1* feedback and they made it look like I was the one at fault. I complained to Reverb and they sided with the seller. They supported the seller when he said they would remove the 1* feedback if I changed mine to 5*. At that point I lost all confidence in the platform. Ratings are clearly fake. As a business I used to sell through Reverb, but stopped immediately - as a small business owner, integrity is central to everything I do and I refuse to support or be associated with a platform that endorses and supports bullying. It's great for searching for things. But I only buy them if they're from a dealer whose website I can visit - and usually pick it up a few hundred quid cheaper direct!

There's a chap whose work features on here occasionally who could do that for you...

Mackie 802 VLZ3 mixer Cracking little desk, I've used it for home recording and gigs - sounds great for both. Tons of features, great mic preamps, full working order, complete with PSU (euro plug with adaptor). Selling as I'm just not using it any more. Manual here http://kunstencentrumbelgie.com/overbelgie/802VLZ3_OM.pdf £90 posted, knock a fiver off if you collect from Bewdley DY12 I'm in Manchester, Liverpool (ish) and Leeds over the next couple of weeks - happy to meet at a services or even drop off if you're near the right motorway. Trades - I'm interested in a Cioks Sol, Jamerson's original P Bass or *possibly* a compressor pedal - feel free to offer anything else.

I'm not a luddite - I'm on board with the likes of Toneprints - I've plugged my phone/computer into my TC pedals to edit Toneprints and tailored them to my requirements - tamed the make-up gain on the Spectracomp as I felt it was giving too much of a volume jump when engaged vs. disengaged, and got stuck into the Brainwaves to set the custom interval to be a single semitone - not available in the stock configuration. But these are one time adjustments, now it's done I just crack on with using the effect - by going straight to the pedal I want to adjust settings on and just doing so.

Be careful with paulownia - I found that it it drinks paint and is very soft as stated above

TBH for a used Fender this is not a bad idea. There are so many fakes out there buying online is becoming a gamble even for people who know what to look out for.

yeah I get that, I feel the same way about some things, and especially touch screens and needing to plug into my laptop to edit... But if you get something where the UI is good and simple enough it becomes a tool to let you do things that are either really hard or expensive to do with analogue pedals then who cares what tool is used, if it sounds good enough, it is good enough.... What I find more strange is that this will be the flavour of the month for a while and feature on 50% of the "post your pedalboard" threads on here and talk bass but in a years time be replaced by something new... it's the unsettling changing that somewhere I don't understand

Couple of years back i got a Custom P Body made... Enjoyed the whole Bitsa Experience, so got a custom J Body made... Both are Paulowina for cost, it is a soft wood for dinks. Now defunct or rebranded Luthiers Warehouse / Luthiers Crafts, via the Bay. Got a Jazz Neck from Twin--Cam on the bay. There is a company Wild Rainbow Music on the bay, might be worth dropping them a line.

Looks/sounds great. Nice to hear octaves/filters from a multi fx that sound good. May try this in place of the stomp

To be fair... it was a 4 day bank holiday.

I've decided to base my build on the Fender Bassman 100, with a circuit more or less like the one below. In the past I've reduced such circuits to one channel with a single input but I like the idea of being able to use this as a guitar head too. Rather than jumper the inputs (which would work, as the channels are in phase), I'm thinking of having a single socket that connects to Input 1 (high gain) of both channels. Then I'd have a 3-way switch to select channels (Bass-Mix-Guitar) and use the channel volumes to mix their relative levels.

remember that (not sure if real) story where some guy got an actual octopus delivered by Tesco, as they did not have the specific brand of bread the customer asked for? 😁

Hmmm interesting. I can guarantee you will see "Certified Pre-Owned Fenders" for sale very soon. Bascially a second hand guitar with a warranty that costs less than new, but more than a private seller would charge. I've seen Mike Lull do it as well as Rolex. Basically a market control exercise.

For sale is my Darkglass Exponent E500 Bass Amp head. This is an innovative 500W bass head from the amazing Darkglass company. It is used once in my home studio and comes as new with original box and papers. I also have a 'Gator Cases' soft gig bag which fits it nicely, which I will include. It's updated to the latest firmware. I already have too many amps, so some have to go. It comes with a two prong EU style IEC power cable, since it was purchased from Thomann (for £840), but if you need it I can include a UK cable as well. Price includes shipping to UK addresses.

I have not been following this lately... Did Janek or Ian manage to sort out something instead? I have sent Ian a short message over IG, not sure if he will get to it but worth the try 😄

Yes, my 1980s Squier JV Jazz, which is a similar vintage to the OP's Fender, and a copy of a 60s bass, is wired the same. I reckon Leo figured it wouldn't matter with the giant ashtray over the top hiding it. EDIT - mine is the same size and look as Clarky's original example, not as wide and shiny as the OPs.
