  2. Selling my lovely Mikey Way Mustang in immaculate condition don’t think there is a mark on it, no neck pocket cracks, no dings, nowt! It’s fitted with an EMG 35HZ pickup, no modifications were necessary and now has a great pickup and new large pots and wiring, all of the original little pots, pickup and knobs will come with it so could easily be returned to stock (but why the heck would you!!) It now sounds great, the humbucker is now clear and punchy compared to the very wooly original. Even unplugged the bass is resonant and plays really nicely It is now a very usable and gigable bass and looks as cool as fcuk !! The large sparkle is drop dead gorgeous especially under lights £625 collected Oakham LE15 6NP

  3. Fender JMJ Mustang Bass I’m not sure it needs any introduction, these basses are legendary in bass playing circles I don’t think it’s taken on any additional relics, resonant and plays like a workhorse bass should £1,000 collected Oakham LE15 6NP
  4. Basically when a neck does this
  5. Goin' Down - The Monkees
  6. If you still consider Rammstein as a metal band, it can, if you consider it's now a pop band with a metal look, it can too. That said, isn't a black painted bass enough for metal? 🤪😉
  7. Not that I know of. I've always assumed its a variant of the Distortron/Box of Rock but 1) thats an assumption and 2) I don't think there's many clones of those either. There is a Pedalpcb board for it, so you could build your own. Musikding sell kits if you wanted. The enclosure is irritating, but I don't mind too much because I use so few effects on bass anyway - so putting a "board" together isn't an issue.
  8. I’ve got a third filter on the board as well.. they are all set for different purposes- The Prunes and Custard with some OC-2 and Fuzz is synth type sound etc…
  9. A revisit to this thread, how's things going @Count Bassy?
  10. I'm interested in knowing your thoughts/experience before I go ahead with installing a P-PUP in what looks to be close the Mark Hoppus Bass position, albeit with the coils in conventional arrangement with bass coil further from the bridge than the treble coil (the body has another PUP closer to the bridge and a currently unoccupied P-PUP rout hence this question). What might be the benefits, what might be the limitations? Thanks
  11. @Mudpup you saved me half a post 😀. I’d be asking them what their plan was after the event and for the future and how this gig is going to do the trick. In a business plan to save the venue this gig would (in my mind) be part of a greater plan. If it’s meant to re-establish the venue and make it a draw for audiences in the future, then how? What’s the plan for the next three months?
  12. Sorry to hear about your shoulder problems. It just seems that once they are damaged they never get back to how they were. I bought the bass new in 2018 and had the body chambered to help with the weight due to my back problems but since then I ruptured my shoulder in a fall and had to have a reverse shoulder replacement. It makes playing 34" scale basses very difficult and painful. However this bass is a beautiful instrument and deserves to be played. Succumb to temptation!
  13. If you mean the powered one10, dual duty bass / PA cab, it got mentioned with the BF demo youtube. Blimmin' expensive, sunk without trace?
  14. Is it like a rent party, where everybody pays an entrance fee to a party at a friend's house, which allows them to pay the rent for a month or two. As has been pointed out previously, a night where the bands are playing for free where they pack the place out for a night, may help the landlord pay a few bills and keep it open for a month or two but is unlikely to keep it afloat in the long run. It might be more helpful if it was a monthly thing though? It depends how valuable the place is as a venue and how much the bands, who play there, want to keep the place open in the long run.
  15. It's not. It's plain, albeit high quality leather, 4" wide and punched at a fixed length of 47", although it could obviously be shortened. I had it custom made to spread the load of a back-breaking Wal 5-string I owned a couple of years ago. I'll put up a couple of more detailed pictures shortly.
  16. Thanks Dan. It is the zenith of bass amps in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't do gigs big enough or frequently enough any more to justify keeping it, and have a Reidmar 502 and a couple of Proline 210s that do the job quite well when I do. It is lovely though!
  17. These are great cabs, crisp sounds with the tweeter and powers through the mix 🤘 glwts 👍
  18. Ascension - Fear Factory
  19. I’m not sure what you mean, but I’m currently cleaning the bathroom so have more pressing matters to attend to.
  20. I saw those extra holes. I've never seen that on any original vintage Fender before. It certainly could be the original neck to that body, but it was swapped onto another body at some time previously and then swapped back, or it's a parts bass. I don't think those extra holes would ever have appeared out of the factory. I bought my '73 Jazz (which looks very similar to this one) from Bass Bros, and they are great to deal with. They are reasonable people trying hard, and they will enter into discussion about aspects of the instruments they are selling if you have any queries. Rob
  21. Forgive my ignorance what do you mean by the ski jump please?
  22. Reality check....is it really going to save the venue? If it's genuinely due to increasing costs and declining numbers it's not going to save it. One single gig where they've saved a few hundred quid by getting a freebie is not going to turn a venue around. Morally it's nice to be able to pay something back if it's to help a genuine venue but it's unlikely to stave off the inevitable
  23. I actually think it’s quite a nice jazz
  24. This is true, but many are simply struggling. Live music is an ecosystem, bands depend on venues, venues depend on bands. The venue side of the equation is facing hell at present, costs are going up significantly, revenues are coming down significantly. Too many bands expect the same fees they were commanding in 2021, so it's easy for a venue to give the appearance of badly run when they're in a lose/lose situation much of the time (by that I mean they lose if the don't put bands on and lose if they do)
  25. I see what you’re saying, It’s a possibility as there are extra screw holes on the back of the neck , unless they were from the factory, hard to say really
