  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah I saw them there too, back to back with Slayer, needed a lie down after that.
  3. Scone Temple Pilots Teen Geezer Tito Būsker Du
  4. I bought it on here from @hooky_lowdown about 3 years ago as I just wanted to try a shortie. I swapped the pickup to an Aguilar with a loom made by our own @KiOgon as the stock controls were really just on/off. It neck dived a bit so I swapped the tuners for Hipshot Ultralights. It’s a cheap bass but the basic quality and build is more than good enough to warrant spending on those swaps. I love it! I liked it so much I found another one for roundwounds. I thought the bridge string spacing would be a bit tight but I’ve discovered I much prefer it for everything other than slap, and I don’t do a lot of that.
  5. Welcome to the madhouse, Helios. Nowt wrong with a bit of SFG.
  6. Good stuff, really love your shortie, was not familiar with this little Jim Deacon prec!
  7. Last bump before payday on Friday..yay!
  8. Well, replaced the fuse and is running fine. I had it on half power through the 6x10 cranked up, maybe that's what blew it? I dunno.
  9. I'm going to put this here, just for the sake of information should any ever have a desire to do the same thing. I swapped the magnets out on the aforementioned pickup, replacing the ceramic magnets with Alnico 5 to see what the difference is. To summarise, the output drops noticeably, and the main voice of the pickup moves up somewhere around the 1k range (to my ear at least). It starts to sound a bit like a Precision Bass pickup, but with less bottom end. I think a lot of the output in this pickup comes from the strong ceramic magnets, rather than the copper wire. Anyway, he's some pictures of the process should anyone else be mad enough to want to do this. If you are, you'll have to look at bar magnets for 7 string humbucker pickups to find something close to fitting. The original magnets are 67x13x5mm, which seems to be quite non standard. I got hold of a pair of A5 68.5x13x5mm and ground them down.
  10. Two sets of chromes... must be getting on for 15 plus yrs. Sound glorious... nice and gnarly.
  11. Or maybe "Hi Kenny, doing much for the next few weeks?" "Sorry Pete, I'm a bit busy watching Strictly and Eastenders" Hmnn - maybe we'll give Zak a shout and see if he picks up.....
  12. yep agreed and roll the board edges too a job for next week i think
  13. Just bought guitar and Darkglass Adam from Ander. He’s a credit to the Basschat community - trustworthy, friendly, communicative and very helpful. Really pleased with my latest purchases and would happily recommend Ander as he looks after his gear. cheers - juice
  14. Favourably. It has that synthy quality, but benefits from volume boost. Tracking is great - I was sad to sell it
  15. Putting up my natural gloss Spector CST5 . I’ve got two of these wonderful basses and one of them isn’t getting enough playing time .Bought in October 2024 from Bassdirect it’s had minimal use and is in fantastic condition. It’s a stock bass so comes with EMGX pickups in a PJ configuration with Darkglass legacy preamp . Also a Spector gigbag is included. Would consider a trade . MTD or similar 5 strings. No fanned fret as I already have a Dimension 5
  16. A Very Happy Easter to all too. We finished with Phil Wickham's 'Living Hope' - a bit of an earworm of a chorus to send everyone out
  17. Yup. Looks like I'm too late 😢😁
  18. Thanks for the stairs warning - I've not played there before! I definitely prefer gigging the amp I'd like to use, no matter how impractical to transport, and plan to do so as long as my back and knees let me. I do have the 136 combo as a backup, although that's quite an awkward lump as well.
  19. Knights of Covonia - Muse
  20. Today
  21. Bit of Stevie Wonder, the arrangement from the film “Sing” Moises app to remove the original bass. Tone by Line 6 HX Stomp
  22. I love Thievery Corporation. I discovered them, of all things, on a 4AD compilation. It was atypical of the label but I loved it. Didn’t try to explore the genre really, but did listened to more slow electronic, synth based music, some trip hop like Red Snapper and Archive.
  23. Finger ramp is painted, so could be the pickups. Lovely work!
