Basses you sometimes regret selling!
andruca replied to Yorkshire Bottom End's topic in Gear Gallery
I've just bought back the only bass I've ever regretted selling, 2001 MIK Ibanez ATK-405. Sound samples from back in the day. Will definitely do some review/samples video soon. -
How much backing track is too much?
Leonard Smalls replied to SteveXFR's topic in General Discussion
I feel that "musically boring" is something that's highly debatable... It's like saying that a discussion of surface tension is chemically boring (*), or set theory is mathematically boring! For those that relish complexity in their music, playing modal progressions in 13:8 time is musically very interesting indeed. Those same people, when hearing a simple 3 chord ditty in straight-ahead 4:4 might say it's "boring" - but that's only to them. Others may find that simplicity is what they like, and complexity is, to them, boring. But at the end of the day it's all subjective; I personally find Oi bands to be deeply dull and like a bit of crazed widdling though an Oi fan would be the opposite to that. Same goes for "decent tune". I mean, which is better, Donna Lee or The Birdy Song? As for backing "tapes", we shall continue to use 'em - though in our case it's a laptop playing Logic; our guitarman fiddles with fx and stuff on the fly. * to be fair it's a bit dull, after all, the Langmuir Trough experiment was what Thatcher worked on! -

In these tumultuous and divisive times, we must acknowledge that love, empathy, and inclusivity are not just noble ideals, but are vital components of our collective resilience and progress as a species.. While there are forces that seek to keep us in a state of conflict and mere survival, I believe that by embracing love and all its facets, we unlock boundless potential and possibilities for a beautiful, unified global future." She goes on playfully, "So yes, it’s this tiny concept that inspired the album."

Paid gigs for amateur musicians......?
EssexBuccaneer replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
This has been an interesting read. My covers (pub) band won’t play for free except for a couple of regular charities we play annually. We want to arrange a gig in Reading sharing the bill with a guy from work’s band, but we’re in Essex and Reading is obviously quite a trot for us. The first venue we spoke to said ‘we don’t pay bands, but can give you beer and sandwiches all night’ 🤐 -
Yes, always handy, but remember this doesn't help with a man in the middle attack as you are not talking to the person with the feedback

Crazy idea, why not get the v7 5 string ? you know the tones and you won’t need to change anything about your setup
-
If I had 500 I'd probably look to get a 2nd hand nanyo bass collection 5 string. Great neck and the come in various models so I'd just wait till I found the right pup variation I wanted. Saying that I've just recently got a cort 5 string.. single cut. A but iut your price range but I would 100% recommend it if you can push the budget up. I would also suspect the cort ones in your range are also fantastic!

Hi Lewis, i have one of these (in FS at the moment too), i'm interested, where did you find a bridge with the holes that line up because i couldn't find one, it seemed that the the holes line up differently from the original 'hi-mass' bridge, did you have to 're-drill' as id probably keep mine if i can get a direct like-for-like replacement like this one, thanks in advance Rog

You are absolutely correct in checking feedback. A problem however is that not everyone leaves feedback even when they have benefitted from feedback in a particular transaction. I would urge everyone to take a moment to leave feedback when it has been merited.
