  2. I'm looking forward to hearing peoples thoughts. Its cool unit which I'd probably be more excited about if it had more non-DG effects which I typically don't get on with. I'm particularly interested how people find the interface, some of the demos make it look a little faffy. I know I'd get annoyed with the controls being above the screen so you're constantly covering it when you're making amends. I'm gonna sit on the sidelines patiently and see if they expand their suite of drives and fx further. I'd also love to see them create a workflow that makes the capture process easier. I've made AIDA-X profiles of pedals and found the process extremely trial and error. I like ve how easy it is to capture on the QC. If you can use the FX loop and desktop software to capture and it can take care of accounting for any latency etc automatically itd be a big win.
  3. Yeah, I think their intention was to update the functionality while allowing it to be a drop-in replacement so it’s definitely not a vintage-styled copy. Same applies to the Ampmaster basses, they’re basically refined Musicmasters without the issues that can affect the originals (noisy pickup, intonation, neck dive etc) but all the individual parts fit Musicmasters perfectly.
  4. Designed by renowned luthier of over 50 years Gary E. Levinson, famed for his Blade series of guitars and now his Sceptre series is the Sceptre DeSoto Deluxe SD2 bass. Featuring a North American Alder body, Hard Rock Maple neck and Maple fingerboard, 38mm bone nut, heavy duty solid bridge. The two Levinson JB pickups are reverse wound / reverse coiled for noiseless operation together and utilise ALNICO 5 magnets. The DeSoto Custom has active electronics featuring a master volume, pan/balance, treble boost/cut at 7 kHz and bass boost/cut at 40 Hz with up to 13dB of gain. Link to Levinson website https://levinsonsceptre.com/product/sd2_strm The bass is in superb condition and plays excellent, no offers please as it is worth every penny, you are very welcome to come and try it. I can also post for an additional £15
  5. Nice rendition. It's only when you hear an enhanced bassline you realise the jazziness (is that a real word?) of the middle eight/bridge section. 👍
  6. Can someone post a link to the original build diary for the Psilos? It's a great build I'd like to read it again
  7. Yeah. I want to say 41mm

Mine has arrived. Studio should be ready by Saturday to start assembling. I got so much to hook up it's gonna be a hot minuet.
  10. I'm being lazy as I could look it up, but are the nut widths all the same, just the profile different?
  11. Shower of love - Huey Lewis
  12. That's is awesome buddy, congratulations!
  13. For silent practice on an instrument that feels close to an upright to play the Yamaha SLB-100 is hard to beat
  14. Today
  15. Yes. We always do or you end up with random stuff
  16. I would say that the old iGig is as good as the Mono Vertigo (I've got both). The thing about the iGig bag is that it has more storage, which is very useful. I don't think that you can get hold of them new these days, but someone is selling one in the classifieds on here. As I said before, a GruvGear GigBlade is up there as well.
  17. I have a NS NXT which is passive and to listen through headphones I use a Blackstar Headphone amp. I believe the later models are now active so may be ok to plug in the headphones direct.
  18. All going ahead though a 2 year wait, counting down the days already.
  19. So Fresh So Clean - OutKast
  20. So is the idea a modular combo, allowing you to choose amplifiers and different power sources for different options? If so I doff my cap to you sir, if not, I still doff my cap as it looks great. I'm impressed, Rob
  21. Just got home from rehearsal with my instrumental classic rock band. Used my Fender JMJ Mustang strung with Elixir nickel rounds into the rehearsal rooms Ampeg SVT350 & 810, sounded great. I was very pleased to be using the JMJ again, over the last couple of years I’ve developed arthritis in my left thumb and my playing style was always thumb hooked over the neck, true punk style, so I’ve been working on my playing technique to the classic thumb on the back of the neck, and am pleased that after a 4hr rehearsal no issues with my thumb. I had been using my Fender Japan Mustangs and although they’re great I prefer the sound of the JMJ, more Precisiony. Band wise we’ve now got about 90 mins of material and all sounded really good, overall a great rehearsal.
  22. Still for sale! postage is £10 DPD next day.
  23. Wabash Canonball - Carter Family
  24. I read that as “cow paint”. And accepted it. Think I need sleep!
  25. Until recently the site would remember my log in details but now every time I open up I have to enter my user name and password a fresh. What’s happened? How can I get back to be recognised?
