  2. What an excellent deal! If I didn't already have two of these I'd be biting your arm off! This won't last long.
  3. hey the greenish colour stingray is nice TE cabs ? 15/10 at top photo? I vaguely remember a 15 + 2x8 in the early 90's but might have been Laney
  4. King. It works for Prince AND Queen.
  5. I've got back into 15s and 18s this last year following about ten years of only playing 10s. Indeed I'm beginning to like the combination of 10s and 15s/18s in some of the following cabs. Yes I get that there can be cancellation when you do that however move slightly and it's not a problem! The combination just seems to give an interesting dimension to the sound for me. Current rig of favour: Two other fun options:
  6. I preferred the 1x15 more than the 1x18 + 2x10
  7. Pop Has Eaten Itself.
  8. Thanks for the reply.... but as I say, they have been leveled and crowned to a high level (not literally of course). And as far as I can measure they are dead flat if neck set dead flat.... So confused Ta though!

  13. Q - What separates your band from the other bands in the areas you work in? A - a mix of playing originals (we do covers too), playing darker / gothic songs and our instrumentation. Q - What do you have that others don't? A - There’s some real talent around here but I think it’s our overall package. Q - If you were pitching your band to a prospect, what would be your bast selling point. A- We’re good at what we do, we’re easy to work with and we manage to take our music seriously without taking ourselves too seriously as people. Q - You can also add in areas where you think your band struggles. A - Just being too left field for what is a rural county. We’re flexible but fairly uncompromising.
  14. I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - Hall & Oates
  15. Look I am pretty far away from being a luthier, but sounds like those frets might need a bit of grinding, they're possibly fractions of millimeters higher than they should be. I had buzzy frets around the 16th-17th where you can't really set the neck, AND I had high action. A luthier grinding them a bit fixed them completely.
  16. I think the HB is a rebadged Vitoos who also make Fender's various power supplies I think I want another pedal board so have been doing some reading,
  17. The Roxy Music tribute I play in has used projections for a couple of years now. We've made it as simple as it can be - I put together a three hour mp4 (edited on an excellent free programme called Shotcut) with appropriate, royalty free images and short video clips. We check with the venue well in advance to see if they have the facility to run it and about 70% of them do. We play 200-300 seater places - some have a projector and some ask for us to bring a laptop with the mp4 pre-loaded. I've always got a couple of memory sticks in my gig bag with the file on, too. It's not synchronised to what we're playing, but it adds another visual element to our performance and we often get people saying how much they enjoyed the "film." Occasionally some of the "screens" that the images get projected on are basically white bedsheets (with stains and creases) but from a distance, they look fine. My advice would be to get one done - it's quite a fun project - let the venues know you can provide one and always keep a copy handy, along with an HDMI lead or two. Ours is also available to download from our website.
  18. i still use an Ashdown ABM 1510HX from 1998 I am unsure why I like tis cabinet so much
  19. Anyone tried the MS-200D+? Over 150 distortion models, you’d hope some of them might be good for bass.
  20. I used the Black Widow 15" from Peavey cabinet for many years - hundreds of gigs
  21. Hey RhythmJunky, Totally get where you’re coming from — but honestly, you’re never too ‘vintage’ to rock.
  22. Does anyone here have quality time with both an USA Stingray Sub 5 and the "normal" Stingray USA 5? A Stingray 5 has become available and I'm pondering...
  23. Have some unused valves knocking around that aren't going to get used. They were purchased a while back as spares for the Fender Tweed Deluxe kit I built. I have tested them this morning in my amp and all are working fine with no noises of any kind. The EHX preamp valves are 1 x 12AX7 and 1 x 12AY7 - one has the original box the other one doesn't for some reason, but both are unused and have been sat in my drawer. The 12AX7 is now sold Looking for £12 posted for the 12AY7 please. The rectifier valves are 2 x NOS Brimar 5Y3GT and 1 x NOS Pinnacle 5Z4GT - The Pinnacle can be used as drop in replacements for a 5Y3GT. I bought all of these as New Old Stock and they come with the original boxes but do have signs of wear on the cardboard. The Brimar valves have a corrugated cardboard and tissue paper protective cover that come with age appropriate smell 😂 Looking for £15 each posted please. Happy to arrange local meet-up with price adjustment if needed.

  25. Tascam MA-8 This has 8 fantastic sounding pre-amps. I've not had a need to use it for a while, so did a quick test with my AKG c214 condenser mic to ensure all channels were fully working, clear and with working phantom power. All channel sounded lovely (audio available on request, but it's just me say "testing channel 5" etc.) There are 2 red knob caps missing (channel 7 and 8) as per the photos, but other than that it's a good as new. Each channel gain has the feel of quality for something made in Japan 20 years ago. A fantastic piece of kit which will keep working for another 20+ years easily. Comes with 'unscrew-able' feet which can be removed if you have a tight rack unit, but very useful for desktop use. Any questions, let me know £85 if picked up from South Lincolnshire area or if you want it posting within the UK I can look up postage charges

  26. So, this is sitting in the corner looking at me, saying "come hither". If I were to buy a 4-string P body, what would be the good reasons not to widen the neck pocket? I am aware that there would be an overhang on the G side. This would not concern me in the slightest. I never go up there. Are there any other good reasons not to do this?
