@Andras Szalay just posted the following on TB: Hi all, We would like to ask for your help! Last week on 16th of November we sent a package of 20 Future Impact V3 to a distribution company in the USA by a major international carrier. When the delivery arrived there were only 4 units in the box. Of course we do not know if it was stolen still in Hungary, anywhere on the way in Europe, or in the US. We ask all of you, if you see anywhere on the net suspicious ad for selling FI V3 units please let us know about it, send a report at pandamidi.com/contact The serial numbers of the stolen units are: 3303, 3304, 3305, 3306, 3308, 3309, 3311, 3312, 3315, 3316, 3317, 3403, 3404, 3405, 3406, 3407 Any ad on ebay, craiglist, reverb.com, etc. posted after Nov. 16 can be suspicious (unless it's by Tech 21). Thank you very much for your efforts Andras Szalay4 points

WITHDRAWN - see last post Made in Mexico. Originally active bass with gold pickguard. Previous owner changed it to passive with tort guard. Also shielded throughout with copper and upgraded bridge pickup to Nordstrand. I put a Kent Armstrong P Bass pick up and strung with flats but can't recall what make they are. I can find the original gold plate complete with its wiring and include it if anyone wants to return it to active duty. Tough to know how to price a bass in this climate with no one gigging, but maybe starting again soon. This has a few marks and scratches, is definitely in used condition but not tatty. Tried to photograph the worst of the marks. The neck is jazz width at the nut. I never quite gelled with this one, no idea why but there it is. If you know about these things and I'm way too low or high with the price please pm me. We'll meet halfway on the postage, so about 15 - 20 quid for you depending on the insurance cost. Or I'm always happy to meet up in a layby.4 points

Well I had seen your post at Talkbass, and got the paper book. I took a photo with my bass next to it and was going to post last week just to say hi, thanks, and that I was having a great time reading your book, and was quite surprised as I couldn't find the article ... I saw only some google cache index links which were all not working... And I thought something like this would have happened. As they've already said, it's really weird that there's not an easy way we can talk about the book in Talkbass! Quite unbelievable. Anyway here's the stupid photo and thanks a lot for the book, it's a fine fun good read!4 points

A dog with somewhere to go. Perhaps he's a country dog who moved to the city? Who can tell? Anyway, Pearl Export kit, Bacchus Jazzray bass, Bacchus Duke P90 for the guitar, Reason for the synth, all into the finest gear the Behringer corporation can make at the lowest price.4 points

Thanks for the purchase @Obieito, and I’m glad you like it. Thanks for trying @Dad3353 and others, but hey ho - at least we tried. It’s a funny old world at times, innit??!!! 😎3 points

My company was involved in the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the liquid medical oxygen systems at the Nightingale hospitals. A typical installation at a hospital would normally take around 6 months to 2 years. These were installed in a week! Just shows what can be achieved when bureaucracy is removed and people are allowed to get on with it!3 points

I am overjoyed at the Oxford vaccine news -- I've been participating in the trial and it's brilliant to see results coming from all their hard work. The technical blurb they showed us is quite mind-boggling, I am in awe of these boffins' capabilities. I had an initial dose (couldn't tell you if it was full or half) followed by a second one later. No side effects to report yet, I still feel absoluhweojfdo fisdfnn jj*73kl;l=++k.3 points

I've heard fantastic tone with a bass straight into an amp and great tone through a bunch of effects. I've also heard awful tone in the same situations. There's no right and wrong in this debate, just people who can get a good sound and people who can't.3 points

Just discovered these on Youtube, I apologise if they have been previously posted, and I know that isolated tracks are nothing new, but these are a little bit different with just voices and bass, and they make for interesting listening. There's quite a variety on there, and as well as the stellar bass playing, they also highlight just how effortlessly soulful and musical some of the singers are/were. Love these two (15) (BASS+VOICE) James Jamerson with Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell - Ain't No Mountain High Enough - YouTube (15) (BASS+VOICE) BEST DUET EVER - JAMES JAMERSON & MARVIN GAYE - WHAT'S GOING ON - YouTube3 points

Here we have a bass that I picked up only 2 weeks ago! Unfortunately the misses losing her job and a house move imminant means this has to go as it was the last one in! Trust me, I don't want to but it has to go! Sorry Duncan! It's a KILLER bass!!!! Mint condition 32" scale Upgraded DeArmond USA pickups Output jack moved to the side so you can put it on a stand professionally. groundwound/halfwound strings Comes with a hard case which is functionable as well. I'd rather not ship it as it's a hollow body and we're using all the boxes and packaging for the move! Collection or meeting only!2 points

The cull continues....... Trace Elliot 1x10" cab. These extension cabs were made to suit the BLX combo dimensions, but can obviously be used with anything. 150 watts 8 ohms Original Celestion speaker approx. 470 wide, 330 deep, 360 high Weighs just under 16kgs It's in great condition and comes with a vinyl dust cover. Classic Trace sound and solid build but in a small and perfectly formed package. Collection or meet up preferred as being around waiting for a courier could be a bit tricky at the moment, but I don’t mind driving a fair way to meet up (strictly observing Covid distancing of course). Will now ship at buyers expense to GB2 points

NOW SOLD! Fender Mustang black limited edition from Bax music. Bought this earlier this year but not been able to use this, you all know the story..... Usual Mexican Mustang spec but with black hardware and ebony board and rather sexy black headstock with Fender logo only. The neck has a bit of flame on it. Weight is 3.6 kg or 7.9 lb`s. Great condition apart from a small dink on the front face of the headstock near the end, not through to the wood. I had a badass bridge on it but it didn`t make much difference so I took it off, sold it and replaced it with a different hi mass bridge which does the job fine for a lot less cash. There is a couple of small marks where the baddass was but none are through the paint and you can only see them close up. See photos. There is some dust on the bass even though I dusted it before hand and black is a bugger for showing up the slightest things. I`m looking for £400 for this collected, postage will be an extra £20, UK mainland only, bank transfer please. It will come in a rather nice full size gig bag as I don`t have a short scale version. No trades please2 points

Bought from a BC'er about 3 years ago but not used much so I am moving it on. A beautiful funk machine refinished in Aztec Gold. I haven't got the original listing details but I remember it is a 90's Japan body refinished by Dave Wilson. I have replaced the PU's with Ironstone but will include the PU's that came with it (which sounded pretty good) although I don't know the brand: The Ironstone Jazz Bass pickups are Ironstone’s first Bass pickup design. They feature classic 7.3K bridge and 7.1K Ohm neck resistances for rich, but crisp vintage tones. The classic construction also includes: Alnico V vintage tone magnets Fibre flat work bobbins Waxed cloth connecting cable The Jazz Bass pickups are available as individual bridge, or neck, as well as a set. The set only, is also available in a rugged foam-lined presentation case (see photos). A comprehensive mounting kit accompanies all purchases. I also had the bridge reset slightly and cleaned up the neck which is silky smooth. The neck itself is an Allparts licensed model with Rosewood board and Walnut facing on the headstock. (Apparently cost about £400 itself) I am including a Spider hard case in the sale which has served me well and still does the job. Strung with Bass Center Stadium Elites 40-100. Something a little different and sounds as good as it looks. Bad bits: Some belt rash on the back, a paint chip to the body near the truss rod adjuster and another chip by the jack input. Some slight smudges to the varnish on the headstock and some wear marks on back of headstock. All these can be seen in the pictures and the Bass is priced accordingly, just trying to be honest. Pickup and try out welcome in Poole once lockdown is over. Can courier at cost in a box or meet up somewhere. Thanks2 points

Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years. So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale. These are great. Low action, big tone. It's in great condition and comes with the OHSC. Had a few questions about the weight. Its 3.55kg or 7.82lbs. It's at the lighter end of this particular range of basses for sure.2 points

I've often used my £85 Harley Benton Precision copy in preference to my Stingray or other expensive basses. It plays a damn site better than some of the 70s American Fenders I've played too - and it did so straight out of the box too. King's new clothes and all that.2 points

It looks great, whatever it may turn out to be! I'd be interested to know if there's anything in the neck pocket (more out of curiosity, I'm certainly no expert). Absolutely love that burst with the red tortoiseshell!2 points

I think with this lot it's the scale and the sheer brazenness of it. I cannot believe that it's not being shouted from the rooftops. Still, we'll be ok, I imagine there will be an inquiry headed by the UK's Anti-Corruption Champion, who is *checks notes* Dido Harding's husband.2 points

As ever the devil is in the detail - the efficacy of 70.4 percent as based on a review of results across the board - across the 20,000 participants different dosing regimes were used. One of the regime's seemed to be 90% effective, the other about 62%, but they actually had more than 2 dosing regimes across the trial with different trial groups. The dosing regimes did not all start at the same time, so later groups may take time for their results to come in. Also they did seem to report a good effect in an older population. The next thing to report will be longevity-if the 70% (as we’ll call it for now) gives long standing immunity, but the 90% only gives a short immunity, which is the better product? Both moderna and Pfizer had double the amount Of participants with a stable vaccination programme of 2 doses, in a novel vaccine. Oxford/Jenner/Astra Zeneca used an existing vaccine, easier to store and distribute, but were changing the vaccine schedule based on immune responses seen after doses were given. If you stuck with the 90% effective regime (if that is the correct one) then if you accrued the same number of participants as the other 2 you may well get results of a similar nature. What i did find strange was Pfizer said 90%, moderna a few days later said 95%, all of a sudden a couple days after that Pfizer said 95%................ More testing still to be done, let’s see how it goes2 points

I beg to differ. I have 5hit gear and I'm the last person you want in your band. 😆2 points

From past experience any available drummer or guitarist advertising themselves as having 'pro gear' is generally the last person you want to be in a band with.2 points

I have owned a Torino Bass for a while. Really cool, but heavy and the positioning of the strap buttons combined with the arched back made it want to topple forward at all times when playing it standing up. I did gig it on several occasions and loved the HUGE tone I got out of it.2 points

I’ve never understood the “woolly Ashdown” thing, except maybe with their lower end gear. When I had my Epifani and ABM heads, a/b’d through the same cab the Ashdown was far more alive.2 points

After months of mucking about on guitar because it was more interesting, I picked up one of my basses this evening and played. It was so much more satisfying. I'll always be a bass player.2 points

I know, you've got to laugh though, I auditioned for a band who said exactly that. Talk about 'All the gear no idea'. There must have been £20k worth of amps, guitars and drums in the studio, they looked rather disparagingly as I wheeled in my rather old and beaten up Mesa Road Ready cab and 400+ head, and looked positively ill when I pulled out a very ordinary looking Precision. We started with Come Together and it became immediately obvious that to them 'Pro' was short for "Demonstrating commitment to the band by spending lots of cash' as opposed to some perhaps more relevant things such as, I don't know, practicing, understanding EQ and volume (oh, and reverb), learning lyrics etc. I didn't stay long2 points

With the advent of CNC machines, pro and non-pro basses is not a definition that means very much. The gulf between a bass that a pro player and a non-pro player might choose has all but disappeared.2 points
