I've always intended to sell a bass when my (stupendous) Zoot 32" Funkmeister P arrived. It was to be my 2008 MiM Jazz but I realise that I have bonded with it to the extent that something else would be offered for sale first. That's not to say that the BBPH isn't superb, it is and it's mint. The BBPH is a proper limited edition, not just a cosmetic marketing exercise. I believe that 150 were made. It has a reverse P pickup and an effective 3EQ pre-amp voiced with Peter Hook's tone in mind. It has a passive mode by switch and the treble control doubles as a passive tone. Passive really works well on this bass. The body is a 3 piece sandwich and with the efficient neck joint sustain is remarkable. It is, as hopefully the photos show, mint. Strung with new Newtone nickels. It comes with the original gig bag and all the bits. Weight wise it's certainly not a shocker. I'm in Kendal, UK. Viewing and trying is welcome. I have a lot of good feedback over many years. I can ship but I don't have a hard case to use for that purpose. I'm travelling down to the Bristol/Chepstow way next Thursday and back on Saturday.8 points

Plasterboard and power sockets all done. Being plastered tomorrow. Originally I was going to dry line and paint it but I just thought if I got it plastered the finish would look nicer, it'd be less hassle for me as I've never done taping and jointing before and it's pretty time consuming. Managed to get a reasonable price for the plastering too so happy days!8 points

'Weak'. LOLz I think it's a great song (It's Let it Be, FFS) and I like the remix. If you like it, listen to it. If you don't, the old mix is still available.4 points

I never have a problem with our singer. She's my wife so I just tell her to shut up. Then she hits me until I do as I'm told and turn the monitor up.4 points

IEMs sound like a solution, but short term get someone to video one of your gigs and then get him to watch it. Then explain that everyone in the audience saw the same and was thinking what a Pratt.4 points

So one of the really great features of a pre 1996 Wick is the removable trussrod. That means I can - very carefully - graft on what will be the headless “head” without taking the fretboard off.4 points

Ladies and gents its time to have a listen to these lovely tunes to decide on your favourite 3 Dont be shy , ask questions if you want to, but have a listen and place your 'x' in the appropriate boxes the picture was chosen by me and is in fact the toilet door of a pub/restaurant in the border town of Knighton The entries are as follows 1 Lurksalot I had a great idea about the door and what it could represent which is the initial point of the opening lyric , but as I based the rest of the tune around that I got a bit stuck , the main lyric will give you the gist of that! 2 @Leonard Smalls My "piece" (I hesitate to call it a song!!!) is an impression of who is in the mirror, and what happens when he's summoned. 3 @Nail Soup At first I thought the door was in a mirrored wall... so I based the lyrics around seeing a mirror Vs door as a metaphor similar to glass half empty or full. Also went for a more reflective feel in the music. 4 @Dad3353 There is a school of Science claiming the existence of an infinite number of Universes, in which, not only are all things possible, but all things must exist, somewhere or other. This is an illustration of this, whereby, in this Universe, The Monolith is, in fact, The Doordis, an invention of the wise Doctor Hugh, travelling through multi-dimensions in this strange craft. One might be fooled by its apparently slim profile, but, once ajar, one may see the inside, which resembles very much Windsor Great Park (yes, along with deer...). The apparition of this 'vehicle' in this humble bar is likely to provoke a reaction from the autochtones; they will throw bones in the air and emit whooping noises (just like every football night, really...). 5 @Doctor J I saw this as a doorway to the darker side of restaurant eating, where items not fit for any printed menu wait within for the more adventurous gastronaut. You takes your unlabelled grey meat and go where it takes you, with more than just the taste of regret in your mouth. 6 @Nicko This song is about those people that you meet that show you a false front - and you never know what is behind the facade. I wanted to get a grungy feel - not sure if I quite got there. 7 @upside downer All this talk of mirrors and toilet doors is a mile away from where my befuddled brain has led me. My take on the picture is that the door is a portal to a fantasy dining experience with a famous face from the afterlife. I join @Nicko in eschewing all that autotune malarkey so you'll just have to deal with my somewhat odd attempt at an Ian Dury style vocal which veers into Danny Dyer territory at some points. There we have it , great fun in these, quality inspiration from a toilet door! the voting will close midnight on 31st August good luck all3 points

Every couple of days someone post a topic about 'what lightweight cabs should I get'. So I decided to help people and put up a (almost) complete list of what's about. The link below covers the brand, the most popular cab sizes (1x10, 2x10, 1x12, 2x12, 1x15 and 4x10) and NOW EVERY RANGE! I've also put Watts and ohm rating in there, as well as tweeter/horn inclusion, just to be extra nice. If there's anything missing or incorrect let me know and I'll update it. Enjoy! *Every current range has been added. Please let me know of any mistakes **info needed on tweeters functionality, fixed, on/off, multilevel https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GFuEsRKhs0CZcp3GrN_lzr8Ey1uB1YOi32_lS7RoHEQ/edit?usp=drivesdk3 points

I thought I'd just do an update with a bit of a review. I've had a couple of months with the M18 and I'm really happy with it so far. The first thing to say is that the sound is superb, the mic pre's work really well. We are using decent mics Sennheiser 935's and Shure Beta 58's plus a £200ish EV and the quality shouts out at this level. The learning curve is really short, we had a mix up inside an hour and a day later I had set up a mix for my second band based on what I'd learned from the first and at rehearsal it worked first time, I barely had to touch levels and didn't need to touch anything else. The phone app for mixing your own monitor mix is faultless and it's all just so easy. Some nice bass sounds using the supplied emulators too but I'll stick to using my Zoom for the time being. No dropouts at all with the built in router and I can still mix two rooms away way, better connectivity than anything else in this 400 year old house. I've yet to report any niggles so far. I haven't had a chance to use it at a gig, we've either had hired PA or been cancelled at the last minute but I'll report back when I have.3 points

I sing with foam ear plugs in. That way I sound louder in my own head. Not a lot needed in the monitors then.3 points

According to another article referenced in the above, he recreated the photograph 5 years ago and allegedly suggested to the photographer that he, Elden, should be naked. "I said to the photographer, 'Let's do it naked.' But he thought that would be weird, so I wore my swim shorts," Spencer told the New York Post. Money-grabbing twot3 points

Refinished in Sherwood Green with a maple board, this bass just does the business. Bought from Shepster on this forum some months ago, only a horrendous vet bill is making me sell. Rehearsed with it over the weekend, and it sounded monstrous. In really very good condition, a few light scratches when string changing is all. Medium weight, wearing a new set of rounds (can't remember which brand). I think we all know what these can do, so I'll shut up. £300 inc postage, sent in bomb proof packaging. Cheers for reading. An amp I had a few years ago has come up and I fancy go out another go. to facilitate this, I’d have to let the Reidmar go. now…not to say I don’t like the Reidmar. I do like it, a lot. But, I only sold the other amp as something went wrong with the boiler and had 2 similar heads at the time, £375 collected in manc £20 to ship using UPS in UK. Mains lead included - I got this from @Dood who’d had it from new did a demo or two and then shipped to me.2 points

Fantastic little combo amp in very good condition. Used for practice and band rehearsals for a while but now tend to use a Barefaced One10 and Warwick Gnome, so moving this on. Owned from new. Tiny amount of wear in the carpet covering around the handle from being carried (see photo). The full spec is here on the Markbass website: http://www.markbass.it/product-detail/micromark-801/. In summary 60 watts @ 4 ohms, 50 watts @ 8 ohms into an 8” driver rated at 200 watts 8 ohms. Lots of connectivity including balanced DI out and external speaker. Very simple controls : volume and VPF. Very transparent so works well with acoustic and active basses. For passive you may want to use a preamp pedal to get more EQ control. I have found the Behringer V Amp brilliant for about £25! I have heard that some people have gigged with this amp. I haven’t personally but I can see it could be good for an acoustic coffee shop gig or small pub (with an external cabinet). It’s certainly extremely portable: just over 10.5” cube and 6.6 kg. Try it/pick up from Fakenham, Norfolk. Will deliver, or meet up within reasonable distance of Fakenham. I have the original box and would post at buyers cost and risk, on receipt of full payment. Looking for £200 ono. I paid around £330 for it but I now see the street price is about £300. Save yourself a third!2 points

I've done it! I qualified although it's been many years since I earned my living from music. I still have a 25 year old pair of custom ER15 earplugs, but they might just be past their best. Just need to book the he appointment now. Thanks for this. Appreciate it.2 points

They're acoustic plasterboards that are up there now (that was no fun lugging 40kg plasterboards through the house into the garden on my own!) and there's acoustic Rockwool behind them. Then there's the cavity wall behind that so I'm hoping that will block most of the sound. The ceiling has a double skin of plasterboard and is sealed with acoustic sealant. I plan on putting bass traps in as well as some acoustic panels along the walls and ceilings. I'm also toying with the idea of doing a vocal booth if the results on vocals aren't satisfactory.2 points

Here's a test I did a couple years ago. I owned a pair I'd Aguilar 1x12s for a short time and a tested these against a pair of a mate's Barefaced 1x12s and my Big One. Hands down the both Barefaced set-ups won that shootout on all counts; they had more if the tonal characteristics I was chasing and were just more exciting compared to the Aguilar units. That said, there was little between the two Barefaced 1x12s and the Big One and not enough to for me to consider shelling out for a pair, so I sold the Aguilars and stuck with the Big One until last December. The Darkglass (IMO) suits me better than Big One, but there's not much in it.2 points

Easy solution now you have a digital desk - compressor insert on his channel set for fast attack and a high ratio with the threshold set so it isn’t quite activating on his soundcheck loudest level. He can turn up as much as he likes after that and it won’t get any louder.2 points

Worth giving a set of IEMs a go - there are some fabulous units out there I'm sure, but our singer/keytar player and I both use fairly basic LD Systems ones with KZ ZS10 earbuds (and decent foam earpieces) and they certainly work well enough to be useful and do the job well in the 'pub rock' environment. I also sometimes do the frowned upon 'one in one out' (keeping the 'one in' on the drummers side helps!) Or just pop one in and out every now and then to get a bit of a reality check. We always mic all the drums btw which is obviously important. The guitarist and drummer still prefer a small monitor, but both really like being able to mix this just for them via the digital app. They are all more techy than me but even I can get my own mix ok. One of the biggest benefits is that you are definitely less battered at the end of a night.2 points

Well my vote goes with 2x112's. More convenient to only have to carry one for small gigs, and still easier to transport than a single 2x12 should you need a second one for larger gigs. Plus the vertical stacking thing gives you a much better sound in your ears than a 2x12 firing at your ankles. That was my reasoning anyway. Which is why I just bought two 112's. 😁2 points

Yay! I made the list with my Ashdown Evo 112's. I'm officially lightweight. There's a first time for everything. 😆2 points

I'm already loving this Sandberg VS4. Satin black, rosewood fb with abalone. Superb balance either sat or standing. Nice wide fingerboard, but not full PBass width, 22 frets with really good access, flattish radius and (for me) the perfect string spacing High output passive pickups (anyone know what they are?). 30in scale (it's the strangely named "Lionel" edition). I'm a very happy chappy.2 points

DeoxIT D5 for me too. Tried once upon recommendation a long time ago and only use it since then.2 points
