Cabs now sold. MiBass 2.0 now sold. (elsewhere) I'm selling my little Ashdown MiBass Rig. It's been a great wee setup, modular, lightweight and pretty loud for the size of it! In fantastic condition, bar some scuffing on the top of the head, almost entirely home use, bar a few rehearsals in local studios. The MiBass 2.0 Head is rated at 640W peak, 400W RMS at 4 Ohms, which I think is pretty fair. The EQ is a fairly basic tone stack, but it's pretty flexible. You can overdrive the input using the gain control to get a nice bit of dirt/edge and there's a line in and headphone out too. The DI on this amp, and most Ashdown amps in my experience is particularly nice. I also have the official MiBass Bag for this head, unused, which I will throw in too, along with the original packaging. The Mi10 Cabs, are both 8 Ohm models, so you can get full whack out of the amp when you use them both. They have a 10" concentric speaker, so there's a wee tweeter mounted in the middle of each of them too and they are very pokey units, and kick out a fair amount of low end too. The speakers only have jack inputs, but I will include two extremely high quality jack to jack speaker leads made by OBBM or Rockwire fame (why did you retire, I need more cables!?...) These are absolutely mint, no scuffing whatsoever on the faux carbon tolex, and I also have custom made Roqsolid bags for each of them, which cost nearly £50 per bag, which I will throw in too. See the links to Ashdown's site for all the specs, sizes, weight etcs. More info on the MiBass 2.0 Head >> https://ashdownmusic.com/products/mibass-2-0 More info on the Mi10 Cabs >> https://ashdownmusic.com/products/mi10 I've attached a few photos, but there's more here >> https://photos.app.goo.gl/U4m99QEGQGtKYQ2n9 £125 for the head. £150 per cab/£300 for 2. £400 for the whole rig. Prices above, do not include shipping, would prefer collection, but I can of course arrange a courier at buyer's expense/risk. Any questions, just shout! Thanks for looking. Cheers, Eude6 points

Hi there! I have for sale a brand new Sadowsky Limited Edition 2020 with 5 strings in MINT condition. The bass has a special wood on top (quilted maple) painted in a very beautiful blue, a roasted neck (this necks have very good stability and stay in tune), quartersawn neck, is number 16 from the total of 100 basses were ever made. Bass cost around 3700 euro in stores and is made in Germany by Warwick. Bass comes with new Sadowsky gigbag and certificate of authenticity. My selling price is 2650 euro + shipping. No trades!6 points

For me, I have the best of both worlds. A satin Forte 4, and a gloss Forte 4. Both loaded with EMGx pups, both beautiful, both irreplaceable and both absolutely stunning to play. Spector all the way ☺️ PS If interested, I’ve named them (from left to right) Thunder Child and Stormbringer.6 points

Bought new from BassDirect in January 2022, its a 2021 edition 4003S (meaning vintage style knobs and unvarnished fretboard) in almost flawless jetglo. Its still in exceptional condition: if I am being picky there are a couple of tiny, basically unphotographable (its a word) shallow indentations/blips in the finish, otherwise it looks brand new. Also, for full disclosure, the jack socket is quite tight so the bass lead needs to be pushed in quite hard to 'click' or remove (simple 2 minute fix to ease spring for those who are inclined, I couldn't be bothered as it works fine and actually made me feel more secure when playing.) Weighs 4.2kg/9.4 pounds Will be sold with original hard shell case plus a Rickysounds pickup surround bezel (£45) which I have never got around to fitting, for those who don't want the chrome pickup cover (seemingly the vast majority). My all-in cost was a fraction under £2150 including bezel surround. New prices now seem to be £2250-2499. So £1850 including bezel seems a decent price to me, excluding postage. Pickup from SW13 London preferred (south of Hammersmith Bridge) but will post within the UK using UPS at cost (probably around £30). No non-UK sales, sorry. No trades thanks. Reason for sale is, though its cool AF, I am more comfortable with an FSO (Fender-shaped object).5 points

Love playing, nearly all of my best mates are in bands or associated jobs, love the ‘we’re all in it together’ vibe in most bands. Love perving on the latest gear, and occasionally making enough from gigging to actually buy something. Love this forum. Wages have been more or less stagnant around here since the millennium. Landlords seem to think that, if we’re enjoying what we’re doing, we should do it for free for some reason. After all, it’s not proper work, is it? Hate British attitudes to musicians, so much better almost anywhere else. Fed up with sharing a dressing toilet. Audiences as well as promoters/landlords can be utter c*nts, and if you tell me there are no bad audiences, only poor performers, I have some venues in Littlehampton and Portsmouth to show you. Mind you, the older I get, the better I was.5 points

Modern Drummer - 1989 "A good drummer that I like who plays simply is Phil Gould, who used to be with Level 42. He plays very simple, R&B-influenced drumming, but when he pulls a fill out it'll be a beautiful fill. And his feel is great. If you try to tap along with their downbeat-on-the-3 type of songs, you'll just about break your hand trying to come down behind the beat as much as he does. He has that feel down so well. It's very satisfying for me to listen to from a drummer's point of view or from a music fan's point of view. It feels great, has tremendous authority, and has the spice of a great little fill leaping out of it."5 points

… and a new Pearl pickguard for the Cruz teal boy… Personally I think this is a much better fit than regular white:5 points

Phil Gould, their drummer shared this earlier on Twitter. Whist I’m not a fan of their later more pop orientated material, I do like their early stuff. It reminds me a lot of Return to forever, not just the music either, the playing is amazing, especially if you consider how young they were.4 points

I thought I'd try a small tour and festival board, mainly to make setup as quick and painless as possible if I wanted to go amp-less. It's built on a pedaltrain nano, with a Cioks DC7 supplying power, enabling me to run the Cali76 at 18V.4 points

I tried that when I had sore fingertips. I drank a couple of pints of the stuff. I didn't notice any change in my fingers but I had blurred vision for a week.4 points

Now sold! This is a Tacoma Thunderchief CB10C in the standard spec for the model, which is spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck, and rosewood fingerboard. It has no built-in pick-up or electronics - acoustic only, but there are obviously various options for mics and pickups if you wanted to go down that route. These basses have become a modern classic, often described as 'the best acoustic bass guitar ever made'. Whether that's true or not, it's certainly in a different league to any other acoustic bass guitar I've ever played - a big, rich, resonant sound that can hold its own when playing with acoustic guitars, fiddles etc. This particular instrument is in almost new condition, as you can see from the pics - there are a few tiny marks here and there but it's exceptionally good for its age. The only really visible blemish is a patch of scuffing about where the right thumb would sit on the body. The build quality is extremely high - beautiful timber and really fine detailing everywhere. It's lightly built but very stable - taking it out of the case after six months without playing it, the bass was still more or less perfectly in tune. I'm only selling this because it doesn't get played enough (I play double bass as well, which has slightly taken over...) and I don't believe in good instruments being left lonely and unplayed! It comes in the original hard case, which is also very good quality.3 points

I had one of these in 1983 and it was the only bass that was ever stolen from me. For that reason alone, I'd always wanted another. Not sure how many they ever made, but I now gather they were a 1983 only bass. This isn't mint, but it's in very nice condition. This is my '80s corner.3 points

I'm well impressed at the people suggesting that the OP use an £850 head as a "backup amp". I'd prolly be inclined to buy something rather cheaper. For £219 you can buy a brand-new Trace Elf, which will not only do everything you are likely to need in an emergency, but is also easily small enough to fit in the front pocket of your gigbag. Job done.3 points

This was taken a while ago when I was trying to have a board that did basically everything, including acting as a headphone amp. Currently, everything is off my board as I’m planning to A/B the different type of pedals to find my preferred iteration. I’ll likely end up with a few boards. I’ll provide updates when they’re ready.3 points

Dragonfly Fat J5 Jazz up for grabs. This bass is absolutely awesome in terms of build quality, looks and sound. To get the full lowdown and hear this actual bass in the hands of a master, check out the video below. The Bass is 5 string custom Jazz Bass, Alder Body, 5 piece maple neck with walnut stringers, the headstock is capped in Maple and the fingerboard is flamed maple. The Bass is handmade and the finish and build quality is second to none, up there with Atelier, Xotic etc. The hardware is all high end GOTOH, the pick ups are hand wound Dragonfly customs, flush finished in walnut casings. The pre-amp is the Harrys Engineering DFBP-3, LOW/MID/TREBLE boost/cut, with mid notch. There is a mid cut/boost switch, active/passive select, master tone, master volume and balance. It's and absolute beast. It's in very good condition but does have a few small knocks as shown in the photos. Collection from Margate or buyer to arrange courier etc.2 points

I'm selling this parts P bass that I bought a couple of years ago when I was just getting back into playing. There's a couple of marks on the body and some dings on the headstock but nothing unsightly. It consists of a Fender Mexican body, A USA Fender neck, A Nordstrand pickup (think it's the NP4), Fender USA hardwear and electronics. Ideally looking to sell as a whole and looking for £450 plus P&P or delivery or collection in the North West.2 points

Yes, it was mine. I'll send you a PM will all the info I've got. It is a special bass. I hope you will enjoy playing it 👍2 points

Gotta agree mate, just stunning, but Thunder Child has a real understated beauty. So uber happy with both. A total convert. How’s you mate? Doing well I hope. I may be back on FB again soon, so watch out 😂 The break has been so good, so we’ll see how long it lasts.2 points

My GAS impatience led to me taking a chunk of paint off of a Triungulo Barbanera when removing velcro this morning. Slightly frustrating given it has such a lovely paint job! It's a fantastic pedal for anyone GASing and considering GisserD's. My GAS is currently sated for the first time in a while, or at least a way from being as rampant as it was. That said, it may only take an unexpected drop from one of a handful of builders to see it come roaring back again. For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind trying the Fart Pedal. Or a Gojira Ants In My Eyes Johnson.2 points

'Best' is so subjective but this would get my vote, too. I tried most of what was on the market and settled on this, before I chucked it all and went down the FRFR route. Stupidly small and lightweight, too.2 points

I'm relatively GAS free since buying the Zoom B6, honestly there's nothing it can't do and it will stand a lot of experimentation (play). However if I had another room and an unlimited budget: Catalinbread Coriolis Effect, GFI System Rossie Multi Filter, Catalinbread Zero Point Flanger, Boss SY-2, The Fart Pedal. I believe the world is divided into people who can't see the point in the Fart Pedal, and people who's immediate response to hearing about it, is that life is not worth living without one.2 points

I am offering my Alleva Coppolo Precision clone. This is the Classic series with Nitro finish and nice Rosewood board. It is from his first years and therefore still with the comfortable body shaping. Same neck dimensions like my 61 PB. Some player wear but nothing serious. Everything works perfect. Plays wonderful with only 3730 g weight. Comes with a fresh setup and new strings and an original Alleva gigbag. Asking 3.700 Euro for it plus shipping from Duesseldorf/Germany. Only trade options: Alleva Coppolo LM5 MTD 534-21 F Bass with a nice top Ken Smith Neckthrough2 points

You want the bridge to line up with the neck. Presumably the spacing of the holes is entirely appropriate for the width of the neck. Then you want a pickup that more or less matches the string spacing where it is going to go, not biased to one side as it was. It looks like yours will be ok once centered. Forget about wrangling the strings at the bridge to match the pickup.2 points

I've never used a pedal, never needed or wanted one. I had a raft of them when I played guitar, but with bass all the effects I needed were my hands.2 points

Sorry, very little signal out there. Went well, only triggered the meter once at the start of the second half- another reason not to play Let Me Entertain You in my book but the singers do insist and I’m married to one of them…. We worked really hard on this gig, rebuilt our in-ears rig, had training on how to use them effectively (no amount of internet expertise could help us luddites) and rehearsed with a db meter to make sure. Venue was really happy, most importantly the bride was happy and it was worth the effort.2 points
