This is the last of the Trace heads before they went under around the turn of the century. It's the rack mounted AH300-12 head. It comes in a Roadready 3U flight case . I put a ventilation panel in the spare 1U space. The amp is in full working order and was gigged regularly until the time of the pandemic. I've gone and bought a load of lightweight gear (I'm no spring chicken!) and so this has been sat in the cupboard doing nowt. A fantastic amp with the superb Trace dual compressor circuit. The switchable valve drive circuit is very usable too. Switchable parallel or series effects loop and switchable 12 band graphic and preshape. There are a few holes drilled in the top panel to improve airflow for cooling. On the back there is a speakon socket in parallel with the 1/4" jack speaker outputs. Also a 7 pin xld socket which parallels the foot switch socket. The front panel illumination is in full working order and stays on all night. I fitted the Trace modification to the front panel illumination board which stops the lights going out if there's a power fluctuation. Comes with a kettle lead and a couple of Speakon cables. I'm asking £250 for it. It's heavy so postage would be expensive and impractical. A meet up or collection would be preferable.10 points

A number of you will have seen this at various Bassbashes or from the original build thread. The creeping hand arthritis is meaning I am selling a number of my own basses and guitars that are getting less and less playing time and too much cupboard time. This one is the 'No Treble' BOTW-winning Camphor Singlecut: https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2016/06/20/bass-of-the-week-ajr-guitars-singlecut-bass Built originally for a basschat member who loved it but hit hard times with the closure of the Ford plant in Wales, I bought it back off him rather than for him to have to sell it for a song on the open market. I've been using it for occasional playing but mainly to be able to show folks the kind of things I build. Unfortunately, it is now spending too much of its time in the cupboard - and it was built to be played. Since I built it, and since most folks have seen it, I have modded it to make it less custom and better for general players. This has included fitting a powerful Seymour Duncan Spb-2 Hot P for the neck, which has allowed me to lower both pickups and give a bit more clearance under the strings by lowering the pickup covers. It sounds and plays great! The SD 2-band powered EQ kicks out some very nice tones to suit pretty much any player's style. Here are the essential specs: - 34" scale - Camphor top; wenge demarcation; chambered alder back - Mahogany/walnut 3-piece through neck - Ebony fretboard - Luminlay side dots - SD 2-band EQ - SD Hot P neck pickup - DiMarzio J bridge pickup - Hipshot tuners including drop D - Warwick brass adjustable just-a-nut - it's light at 7lbs 13oz. Sits on the strap beautifully. More photos on my website here : http://www.ajrguitarmods.co.uk/camphor single cut bass.htm ...but here are some recent shots: That last photo shows the custom fretless that is also on the For Sale site at £950. I only want to sell one bass - whichever doesn't sell, I will be keeping for occasional home playing and posterity. I don't mind which - they both play great ! Open to reasonable offers. I won't courier but happy to travel at least 100 miles radius from Derby to deliver or meet half-way.10 points

Bit late on these but it's an amusing juxtaposition... Friday 6th Jan, Great British Folk Festival. Our guitarist donned his Crass T-Shirt but other than that we played a very civilised acoustic/folk set to a massive sitting audience. Polite applause at the end of each song is all we got, but no-one left the room which was near capacity. Apparently it was a great reaction from this crowd, just a lot more subdued than we're used to. Wednesday 11th at the 100 Club supporting Subhumans couldn't have been more different. The venue is about 1/4 of the size for a start. It was absolutely rammed and they went crazy for us, even though most people were there for Subhumans. I love the 100 Club but it's very difficult because of the shape of the room. The PA fires everything straight at the back wall which immediately bounces back on stage. I was absolutely hammering the drums just to make myself heard on stage. I've never had so many compliments after a gig so we obviously did something right.10 points

Just arrived home from Skegness where we was playing with the Verity/Bromham band. I kept things simple, Squier Jazz into a Zoom b1fourx (just compression) then into the house SVT Classic and 8x10. Best tone evaaaaaaah! We went down a storm and I won the prize for the lariest trousers. Even had a guy come up on stage and propose to his Girlfriend! Happy Daze!6 points

I sold my Cirrus since I have a hard time playing 35" after a stroke 2 years ago. I really miss it! I figured this would be almost like it, but 34". I really like the playabllty and looks of the bass. Construction wise it like it more than my old Cirrus, but i liked the cirrus electronics more. It somehow felt more solid. Great sound though. My main bass right now. I thought about installing a more modern preamp and keep the pickups, but I changed my mind. I'll keep it as is!5 points

On sale this beauty, quite rare to find. I could be interested in a trade with other Rickenbackers (4003 / 4003s / 4001 V63 ) just to try some other rickenbackers. bass is in really near mint conditions. just an added screw hole on the E tuners, suited to add an Hipshot detuner.. (who is included, but not installed in this moment) the bass is really light and comfortable to play... high gain pickups sounds huge! stock case bass available in Italy € 3500 shipping to quote video from the web www.youtube.com/watch?v=eds2J9P6jdQ5 points

Yep. The BC community came to my rescue and I was soon grooving again ... and, undaunted, I have the materials to build another better version of Twiggy (To be called Phoenix). S'manth x4 points

If it sounds like a flanger then the frequency is shifting which suggests it's probably not the charge pump, and the boost should take the charge pump noise well out of audible range. Probably worth looking at other culrprits. All mouser stock is held in the US - they do a good job on intl. Shipping but it is still expensive. I edited my response above, farnell have the LTC1144. Delivery is free but there's a £10 handling charge under £24, and a £6 handling charge between £24 and £48. Over £48 is free, so if you wanted to stock up it could be worthwhile. Full disclosure I do work for farnell, please buy components so I can continue to spend my wages on components.4 points

The first time someone asked for my set list I was completely freaked out. I had no idea why they might want it but they took it and asked me to sign it, which freaked me out even more. That was probably 7 years ago or so. Now it's every single gig, signing CDs, Vinyl, and always set lists. People have collections of our setlists and they compare them. We don't get played on the radio or anything so it's still weird, but I got used to it.4 points

This will disappear without a trace. Keeps on happening, anything that deviates from the "norm" - take your pick - Dimension, Cabronita P, Starcaster, Coronado, I could go on. The Meteora will be next, followed by this, most likely. I personally applaud them for trying new stuff, but they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. The majority of Fender's customers just want the classics. People who want something a bit different don't tend to give Fender a second glance. This is the world we live in.4 points

Once. I was chatting to the person next to me on a plane about photography as it's a bit of a hobby of mine (not sure if they were interested but I was bored, so they were unlucky!). When we landed the guy seated behind me asked me if I was this famous photographer who was a hero of his. I said no and that I wish I was him as it would be a dream job. He said, no, I'm lying to get out of signing an autograph and that I was definitely him, and proceeded follow me through the airport getting more irate as we went along. He got so upset it was actually amusing rather than irritating!4 points

Had a look for mine and didn't find them. Here's my 2, 2007 Euro4 LX in Ultra Amber Gloss with a beautiful Tiger maple. Such a fantastic sound! it's a non trimpot so hotter than the sun 🤣 My second is a 2011 Euro5 LX TW in a natural Matt with a lovely subtle Quilted top. Very different sound to the 4, smoother and warmer with a lot more low end. It has the splittable Humbuckers which can be ran as single coil, however splitting creates a volume drop, which still can be used for different Tones. This has the trimpot so it's set a bit lower. Been a Spector fan for as long as ive been playing, and use both these for my rock/Soul band, my Fender and yamaha handle the jazz rock fusion 😁4 points

It happens quite a lot on tour around the merch tables. Posing for selfies too. I don't think it happened until my mid 30s but i would say I get asked dozens of times every year for the last 12yrs or so. I'm realistic in that it doesn't mean anything. I have no delusions. The funniest thing I remember was a few years ago at a festival gig, I was with my old singer and a girl came up and asked him to sign one of our LPs. He did and without thinking he then handed it to me. I'd played on it too and was one of the main band members. I signed it and handed it back to her. She looked at it and said, "Oh, you've signed it too!" She was okay about it (I think she just came across badly) but it was pretty funny and teaches you to stay humble. Thankfully everyone else who's asked for an autograph has always chased me around venues and festivals with sharpies. People are funny about musicians. We're just people with the same boring lives as everybody else.4 points

Complete! Very happy with the results. Not perfect, but certainly better than my last build.4 points

Gig over. The verdict is that these cabinets are indeed perfect for double bass, and are plenty powerful and clear. I played some small band stuff, but also some big band which I wasn't expecting. These cabinets filled the room with the GSS bullet amplifier you can see on top of it. Got some nice compliments about my sound, and a distinct lack of compliments about the woodworking and varnishing efforts on display. Venue was a nightmare scenario of a gym with hard floor and high(ish) ceilings. Almost certain my Acoustic Image wouldn't have coped but this setup worked fine. It is significantly heavier mind you, and while there was a little left on the dials to give more welly, the GSS was warm to the touch by the end of the gig and I wouldn't want to chance it. It's soo portable and cute though how could anyone not love it? I will have to get L brackets for the grille as the duct tape holding them in place is starting to peel. I think I will also make a scrap ply wedge to angle the upper cabinet towards my beautiful face next time (if there is a next time: I was quite rusty.) Here is all my equipment fitting into my car, double bass, cabinets, and child seat because I was too lazy to take it out.4 points

Reluctantly selling my 2015 AVRI 58 Precision in White Blonde over a lightweight Ash body. This is the bass that turned me from a lifelong Jazz Bass fan and user to Precisions, hence the sadness in letting it go. At only 8lbs or 3.65kgs, it is a joy to pick up, especially for an oldie like me! The bass is in very nice condition with just a few minor chips, which of course happens with Nitro finishes. There are some nice checking lines, predominantly on the back and the Ash grain is visible through the finish. The neck is very smooth and clean, whilst the frets have plenty of life left in them - they are hardly marked. As expected, it sounds just as you would want from a Precision! It has a brand new set of Fender Nickels 45 / 105 and has a lovely low action. The Classic Fender Tweed case is in good condition too. Collection in person is most welcomed and postage can be arranged if required.3 points

Hi everyone, due to recently purchasing my dream bass, I'm selling off most of my collection. This is a 2008 corvette double buck. German made, plays and sounds great. A few small marks and light scratches most of which are in the pictures. The A string tuner washer is coming away however works fine. This bass has a monster tone and with the parallel/single/series switches is very flexible. Comes with a rockbag and the user kit. Nice weight at approx 9.1 lbs. No trades please. Collection/meet up preferred, can post at buyers cost/risk. Anymore pictures or info just ask. Thanks3 points

Hi Folks, I'm looking to move on my Squier Classic Vibe p bass, in black with maple neck. These are cracking basses for the money, but I have to admit, I'm just not a p bass guy. It's in good condition, with the usual marks on the back. I've changed the bridge and added the surplus bridge from my Jazz bass (I upgraded that one). I'd be keen to trade this for a Barefaced One Ten if someone was interested, if not I'm after £285 ono. It will come with a hard case and I can post this at buyer's expense. Based in Leeds and could deliver within reason. AB x3 points

I've had this Lion branded hollow body short scale bass for many years. It has a lovely woody full tone which works well for the jazz gigs I do and a really fast narrow neck. It's also very light indeed. I've never been able to find out much about it so wondered if anyone else has one or knows anything about them?3 points

Up for sale is my Scott Whitley SWB-1, made in Ash, passive electronics, short scale 30.5", weighing in at just 7.4lbs (super light). It is number 46 of the signature range. Comes complete with the original lightweight hard case including the key. GHS strings. 24 frets, rosewood board, twin jazz style pickups, heavy duty bridge, three way selector, one volume, one tone. I recently purchased this short scale from Shantijoe but unfortunately the scale length isn't working for me which is a real shame because it's a great bass. The weight is brilliant, it's so light and the neck has a fast low action, double octave. The slanted jazz pickups in conjunction with pots that actually work offer a great range of tones too. I'm really glad I got a chance to try the bass, very impressed. There is a Youtube video by Scott talking about this range which is worth checking out for the tones etc, link below. Condition wise, very good, some light play marks on the back when you hold it up to the light. Some light marks on the case top too. I'm based in Baldock, North Herts and collection or local-ish meet up would be preferable. When Joe sent the bass down, he covered the case in cardboard which I still have so can do the same if you would like to arrange your own courier. Many thanks3 points

This was the 2nd gig of 2023 for us and it was a cracker. Pretty much a full house at one of the best venues on our circuit and the atmosphere was a bit special. I fell off the gear abstinence wagon already and used my new to me Orange 4 Stroke amp - I'm really pleased with it so far. It weighs half as much as my normal Mesa BB750 and sounds really similar. It's a lovely meaty big rock amp.3 points

These days only occasionally, as well as the odd request for a selfie. Back in the 80s - many, many times! It occasionally amuses me to think that somewhere there is a woman in her mid 50s going through a shoebox of souvenirs when she's moving house, wondering why on earth she asked for my autograph and trying to remember who the hell I am...!2 points

Just because, here's the other 2 colours Peavey issued for that model I think the dark one is called T-Black, though it was really some kind of nice burgundy/brown. Cant remember what they called the light red model. It'll be on the web somewhere.2 points
