This is a 2015 Rickenbacker Laredo Bass 4004 model in jetglo. It’s in amazing condition and virtually mint. The bass weighs around 4.1kgs and has absolutely no issues, it comes with original Ric case and includes all certificates and manuals. The bass has had the pots upgraded to two volumes and tone rather than the usual volume, tone and pickup selector switch. The volume controls also feature a coil tap push pull switch making it a very flexible bass. Should you wish to change it back to the original configuration the original wiring loom is included. I’d definitely prefer pickup I’m afraid. The bass has the signature Ric sound but is far more comfortable to play thanks to the contoured body. The Schaller bridge makes it very easy to intonate too. I was told Rickenbacker have stopped production of this model. UK only. Price reduced for a quick sale. Postage £30 UK only I’d consider part trades - plus cash. I need to release at least £950 funds on this so I’d consider US Fenders or Musicman basses. Thanks12 points

2015 Aerodyne Jazz PJ - non-export, cream. Japanese domestic model with pickguard and jack on control plate. Aesthetically this floats my boat but spend most of my time playing sitting down and can't deal with the arm rub on the slab style body. I find the neck on this particularly nice with the profile and satin finish. Excellent condition with some mild tarnishing of hardware. Comes with one of those awful Fender gigbags with no padding. Weight is 8.4lbs. If I was keeping I would look to shield pickup cavity and potentially change pickups. I find the P pickup quite muddy which seems to be a common complaint in reviews. Looking for collection from Orpington BR6 or meet up within an hour away. Have box and packaging material so can post at buyer's risk/cost.8 points

BASS NOW SOLD *Further items will be posted later* Due to severe illness it's regretable that I have to part with my basses. First up is this 1966 Fender Jazz Bass in Candy Apple Red with matching headstock. This was valued at £9,000 with a resale value of £7,500 Two issues with this: 1. There is a quarter turn left in the truss rod and minor curvature in the neck. I have been quoted (by Gerald at 'No Tom') a maximum figure of £500 to rectify this although the problem is not perceived as being so major and would likely cost much, much less than that. The curvature isn't bad and has remained static for the last twenty-two years. The bass in eminently playable. 2. The pickguard is not original: the original had been engraved and had (had) the top bout removed. The current pickguard was made by request to the Fender workshop when they had the warehouse and workshop in Hendon in the late 1990's. To compensate for costing these issues I am letting the bass go at £5,500. The bass is otherwise all original with no refinishing I don't have the health or the means to make any more pictures but feel free to come to my flat and inspect the instrument. Due to my health and the security risk to me there would be a second person present. To be clear I WILL NOT BE POSTING THIS OUT, THIS IS COLLECTION ONLY from LONDON N18 points

Fantastic condition Elwood 5 that was built for bass direct from which I purchased it. I was so impressed I got one built To my specs and this has been largely unused since. chambered body and lightweight hardware- it’s my lightest bass by far. I'm certain this is the bass in this video; It's the only one with these specs in the video section of the Maruszczyk youtube channel.7 points

This morning's service is one I will remember for some time. We are blessed by having lots of young people in our congregation. They range from babies through all school years to college and university students - plus their parents who are in their twenties through to forties. At 72 I am old enough to be most of our congregation's grandad! We have thriving youth programmes which meet on week nights to cater for the various ages. They attract our own young people who also bring along school friends who do not attend church on Sundays. This morning the church was packed with about 170 people following a youth camp over the Friday and Saturday nights. It was held at a youth centre about 40 miles away and involved silly games coupled with the message of Jesus. The group (including non-church goers) arrived from the camp about 15 minutes before the service started and were fed tea, coffee and hot pastries. Their parents came along to collect them and stayed in the service to find out what had gone on. Our assistant pastor pitched his message just right with plenty of fun but loaded with the Gospel. I was playing bass in the band. We started with "How Great Thou Art" (one of my favourite old hymns) and the singing was terrific. That set the tone for the rest of the service. Further up this thread I posted a video of "Behold Our God" and commented that with a small band I hoped we could do it justice. Boy did it work! Where I was standing I could hear many male voices belting out the song and I don't mind admitting that I choked up a bit. We see many young folk lost in a world that feeds them all kinds of lifestyles and to see a packed hall of teenagers and younger kids praising God and enjoying each other's company was very heart warming. When it is not seen as 'cool' to attend church, having so many young men in our fellowship is encouraging. The fact that we have many young female students may have something to do with it! Playing in church is a privilege I do not take for granted and today was a blessing in more ways than one.6 points

Little revisit - I went and got a Freeway switch and installed it. Took the opportunity to do a bit of copper shielding while I was in there... War volume tests this week at band rehearsal, but through headphones I was enjoying all my series options... IIRC in addition to the standard switching I now have N+M (series), N+B (parallel), N+B (series), N+M+B (parallel), M+B (series)5 points

Recently acquired from this parish, lovely condition and weight but just not doing it for me tonally. 2017 Sandberg VM5 Natural, black hardware. Includes Sandberg gigbag. Excellent condition. Some play marks to pickguard and some slotting to zero fret. Rest of frets show negligible wear. I replaced strings with Ernie Ball 3836 45-130 regular slinky coated nickel rounds which have had at most 2 hours of use. Weight is 8.6lbs on my electronic scales. Original advert here: Have original shipping box. Prefer collection Orpington BR6 or meet up within a reasonable distance (up to an hour). Will ship to mainland UK at buyer's risk/cost.4 points

There is one for sale in the Classifieds here: Otherwise plenty of options out there. Some have an optional footswitch operated distortion circuit built in. Some have option of plugging in earphones for silent practice / aux in for playing along to phone, iPod, etc. Some have sweepable mids if that matters to you. Here are a few to start you off: MXR M81 (very transparent preamp/DI) MXR M80 (more colour to this, and optional distortion) Ampeg SCR-DI (distortion circuit and headphone input) Aguilar Tone Hammer (a popular one, has higher power needs than some, overdrive switch) TC Spectradrive EBS Microbass / 2 / 3 GK Plex DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim - Deluxe & Mini versions 3 Leaf Enabler (discontinued) DSM & Humboldt Simplifier NUX Melvin Lee Davis NBP-5 Broughton Messenger Radial Bassbone OD Tech 21 BDDI (& version 2 with more mid options) Tech 21 BDDI Programmable Tech 21 BDDI Deluxe Tech 21 Para Driver (think this has a V2 as well) Tech 21 VTDI Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe Tech 21 Fly Rig Tech 21 Steve Harris Tech 21 Dug Pinnick Tech 21 Q Strip (more transparent than their other options I believe, with low & high pass filter controls) Orange Bass Butler Caline Wine Cellar Behringer BDI V-Tone Bass Driver Lehle RMI Basswitch IQ DI Walrus Audio Badwater Laney Digbeth Eden World Tour DI Darkglass B7K Darkglass Vintage Ultra Darkglass Microtubes X7 Two Notes Le Bass tube (dual channel) Sushi Box Finally Tube DI box Then there are the more expensive tube DI boxes such as: Shift Line Olympic Noble preamp REDDI My list certainly isn't exhaustive. It's somewhat of a minefield, depending on budget and what exactly you think you need. I'll get back with my thoughts soon based on the few I've tried.4 points

Hi folks, I'm offering this gorgeous 5 string USA Lakland 55-64 up for sale again. I had this up for sale some time ago but kept it. Up on well know auction site but I thought I'd see if I get any better interest on here. This bass was known as the Bob Glaub model and now 55-64 "Vintage P". I think this is a 2016 model. Here are the specs; 35" scale Alder body Fiesta Red finish Tort pickguard 1 piece maple neck satin finish Rosewood board Birdseye maple dot inlays Hipshot ultralight tuners Passive tone controls Lindy pickup Strung with TI Flats Weight 4.4kg Condition is excellent. One tiny dink on the headstock. One tiny check in the lacquer near the jack as pictured. Plays and sounds like butter. This is the best bass I've ever owned but my priorities in life are elsewhere at the moment. I'm sure i will regret selling this for sure. Long waiting list and about £4000 to buy a new one of these. Comes with its plush lined Lakland hardcase. Sale will include a pretty much brand new Neotech Megastrap. Price is £1950 ono. We can discuss me delivering to you in person/half way if I'm anywhere near your location at the time. I'd much prefer collection if possible. I live very close to Silverstone. Any questions or comments welcome. No trades so please don't ask! Thanks alot, Pete3 points

Well, in the seller's defence, had they put it in the right place they would have really struggled to access the strings at all given the size of that bridge cover3 points

I would put the Laney digbeth preamp in. It has clean and overdrive channel that are mixable, di and and effects loop as well as a 4band eq. Cheaper than most Di boxes aside from Chinese clones. Only issue I would mention (as rediculous as this sounds) you need to like the sound of your bass. It doesn't colour the tone the same way a sansamp or the like does. I had some issues with that for a while until I got a new bass and realised why I wasn't getting on with it😐. Something like a second hand sansamp has the advantage of sounding more or less the same regardless of what amp/sound system you plug it into. That's something that can be very valuable if your not using your own amp.3 points

Here's a 2009 Stingray in excellent condition. Rash purchase of another unnecesary and expensive motorcycle forces sale. It's in Cabernet Pearl - a very rare limited colour. In low light it looks like copper and in full daylight it has a wine pearl sparkle to its finish. Includes strap locks, original hardcase, case candy, Hipshot D tuner and original tuner Truss rod works and frets in very good condition. Weight is 4.50kg. Collection preferred as I have no shipping box, no trades, I can travel a bit from South Northants but it can also be collected from Maidenhead. Payment in cash, Paypal or cleared bank transfer.3 points

Update on this. I bought a Fusion 800s off Mr Dinsdale and paired it with a barefaced retro 6x10. Only played it in the house so far so yet to use it in anger but the tone is absolutely superb. I love the Gallien Kruger growl and paired with the barefaced it just sounds so gritty and crisp, tried it with a fender jazz, music man sub and Spector rebop and they all sound amazing. I was a bit concerned about the tone controls etc on the head after reading various opinions online but it only takes 10 minutes of playing or so to feel your way through them. Will update on here after I’ve used it for rehearsal and gigs in the next few weeks but it’s looking like a very solid purchase!3 points

Folks, some sad news today. I visited our very own @ash this afternoon for our annual P bass exchange and to my horror it would appear that ash is down to his last 3 P basses. This is very worrying indeed and I have offered a much emotional support as I can. In order not to aggravate ash's condition could I ask for a short moratorium on posting any pics of P basses or indeed any listing of P basses for sale. It's a difficult time for ash and I'm sure the BC community will support. Thank you.2 points

Really nice playing 2009 SG bass in faded/worn black. Versatile rock bass which only weighs around 7.5 pounds. Amazing condition (only sign of use I can see is a small indentation on side of fretboard, pictured). Basically looks like it sat in its hard case unused for all of its life while small rodents chewed at the outside of the case (which still functions perfectly). Without the glossy nitro finish of the SG Standard bass the neck is much easier and slicker to play, in my view. I am cutting my bass collection down as my band's one and only festival gig in diary has been cancelled and there is nothing planned for the foreseeable. Hence no trades. £825 including UK post, or £800 collected from SW13 London.2 points

We should do a poll in this thread on how many of us with bad backs use Barefaced cabs! Two One 10's here. They're just the ticket. Rob2 points

I don't think you'd have any problem with this jack socket needing to be replaced. It's a well-know weak point of Warwick basses, and I think most people would be surprised that it has lasted this long!2 points

TC Electronic Spectradrive. DI, drive, comp and 4 band eq. Plus the toneprints give you access to tons of drive types, and comps, so it's very flexible.2 points

Good choice. Barefaced do their x10 cabs with one side doing only lows so don't suffer the beaming of highs and lumpy mids off axis.2 points

Just picked this mark rig up today after months weeks and days contemplating what to get. This came up and it also involved a day out by the seaside. I’m hopeful going to be gigging a lot more after I threw my toys out of the pram a few years ago and quite the gigs I was doing. I’ve had mark gear before so happy as can be.2 points

Guitar player's Marshall went west during the first song. We trooped off again while his mate went and got his from home a few mins away but it ended up costing us our break as we had to be done by a certain time. Pity because I took my newly purchased Ampeg PF350 along - intention was to use it 2nd set but because we went straight through I stuck with my TC. I took my stack knob Jap Jazz. The sound cuts through two Gibson/Marshall set ups better than my Precisions do but it does seem low output compared to them. I have Duncan 1/4 pounders on both Precisions so maybe that's why although I know a lot of folk seem to think Jazz basses are low in output. I do like it but it showed another of the reasons I always preferred a Precision which is because of the shape of the Jazz body it wouldn't sit on the larger of my stands at all and was a bit wobbly on the small one. Guitar player said to get a hanging stand but it's no lightweight and not sure i'd trust it.2 points

For sale is this beautiful Spector Euro 4LX. I seriously love this bass but it's too heavy now. Although it's only 4Kg my back starts playing up around about 3/4 of an hours playing. My lightweight Roscoe is much more back friendly so that's getting all the use at the moment. I'd more than happily keep it but I've just bought a lightweight ACG and I need to pay off the credit card! I bought the bass here late last year. Original listing below. Same great used condition. It's a bass that's been played but well looked after, I think it looks fantastic. Neck, frets and trussrod are all good. No issues at all. I replaced the input socket with a Switchcraft not long ago and everything electronic wise is spot on. It's the older TonePump without the gain trim and EMG's. Bass come with a case and good leather strap with the strap locks fitted. I don't have a suitable box so its collection only. I'd be happy to drive up to 70miles from Merseyside to meet/deliver. The price is firm, lees than what I paid and I'n not interested in any trades as I really do need to pay for my latest purchase.2 points

Had a good gig on friday. Someone dexcribed the crowd as 'muso night' so no pressure... in the end we probably played one of our best performances. Even did a bit of call and response with Alex and took an insanely fast solo for Bullfrog Blues. A fair few new songs too which was nice. Great prep for the Earl Haig next weekend😁2 points
