    So here it is... Number 23 of 72 - A Ball Family Reserve USA Music Man Bongo 6. It is ridiculously good. I was VERY sceptical as to whether I'd made a good or bad choice buying this, but DANG, it's a monster. The tone is like nothing I've played before, (and I've owned a Bongo 6 before!) it cuts like a hot knife through the mix, the pallette of tones is exceptionally good and really easy to dial in. The neck is probably the nicest neck I've felt, and it's not half bad to look at! It's on another level this beast... I totally agree the aesthetics are very much Marmite, but I think I might just be on the 'love' side of that arguement! I'm very pleasantly surprised by this bass. I was expecting it to be a great bass, as well it should be for the RRP, but I wasn't quite expecting it to be a phenomenal bass...

    Selling my Fender Jazz Elite V 5 String Bass. Glorious colour! I've owned it a few years, probably since 2017/2018. Very well cared for. Really don't see this finish anymore! And in my opinion, it's one of the best (if not the best ☺️ Very versatile basses. This one comes complete with everything as when it was new. Condition is a solid 9 out of 10. Case has some marks from use, bass has couple of tiny blemishes, but really nothing! Looking for £1700. Based near Yeovil in Somerset. Happy to ship the bass at cost of courier.

    I lost my Spector cherry a short while ago with this used Bantam I picked up for a good price. I thought that the combination of the body shape and where the strap pin sat on the top horn combined with the shorter scale would make the bass feel familiar to my usual Fenders and it worked a treat. The light weight (just over 7.5lbs) together with the shorter scale made gigging with it an absolute pleasure and the build quality is superb too.

    Longer term Baschat members may have seen this on the site back in 2018 at £1100. Today its on at an inflation busting £900 850 800!!! Potentially trade for a 5 string PJ bass? A beautifully made bass with rock solid build quality and high quality parts and plating. I'm only selling as it covers similar territory to a twin humbucker Shuker I had made and I allegedly own too many basses. The following details are copied verbatim from the 2018 ad when it was in the posession of a proper pro musician. I'm trusting that the precision of the weight given means he had access to much better scales than I have in my bathroom. Neck: Bolt-on Canadian hardrock maple Fretboard: 24 frets Scale: 864 mm/34" Body: mahogany and rarewood imbuia top Finish: matt Pickups: 2 Sandberg powerhumbucker - switched split coil on bridge pickup Preamp: Sandberg 3-band, active/passive Neck width at nut: 1 ¾”/45mm String spacing at nut: 8mm String width at bridge: 2 ⅞”/73mm String spacing at bridge: 18mm Weight: 4.11kg/9.06lb Comes with a Sandberg gig bag It has a small number of very minor blemishes as shown in the photos for full dislosure; they aren't very noticeable against the grain of the bass. I'll ship boxed and in the gig bag within the UK at buyer's expense and risk, or could meet up within a reasonable distance of Tunbridge Wells or in London. Of all the basses I've sold this is the one I'm most reluctant to let go of so there's a slight chance I might withdraw it if my herd thinning resolve weakens....

    I've owned this bass 33 years now. I did hundreds and hundres of gigs with it. Literally 100 a year for nearly 20 years. My wife named it 'Old Faithfull' because I was playing it when we first met (and she plays bass too, so recognised it when we eventually got together 16 years ago) any excuse to post a picture

    To me its quite a normal thing, is known as anthropomorphizing and is part of human psychology. We do it all the time with religion and the belief in a divine being called Elohim, Buddha, Allah etc. mythology like Zeus the Greek god, animals in certain cultures, films, TV and literature for example car characters in the film Cars having names and a certain teddy bear called Winnie, mascots as well as objects like ships and planes. We even give names to weather like storms, hurricanes etc. So if someone wants to name a bass 'Dave', a dog 'Butch' or a car 'Trevor' then they are just anthropomorphizing and no different to praying to Shiva whilst wearing a T-Shirt with a duck on it called Donald, whilst escaping from a hurricane called Barry on a plane called Mary-Ellen.

    This 100%, recognise the extraordinary privilege that far from being the result of talent - lots of people are far more talented - or hard work - lots of people work harder - or 'sacrifice" (you're flucking joking me) - is simply the result in 99% of cases of luck, and get out there, be a pro, and give the audience what they've paid for. If they don't like you, grow some and win them over rather than resorting to the standard 2020s model of whinge. I did a single gig with a semi pro band (whatever the fukc that actually means), the singer of which threw a major hissy fit mid-gig because people in the 'crowd' (about 40 people in a stinky poo pub in Surrey) were talking during the set and still see it as my musical low point, the guilt of association etc (BTW this 'semi-pro singer had arrived at the gig without his mic case so had to borrow the SM-58 that i carry in my kit bag just to make it through the gig in the first place, and had the lyrics on a printed sheet in his hand. Complete prick). The sense of entitlement that oozes from so many musicians today amazes me.

    Anyone requiring help with Session amps can contact us at: [email protected]. Please try to keep it short if you can. The fading signal is a common problem for ANY amp with an FX LOOP. It's usually the FX RETURN jack that causes the it (FX SEND jack on Carlsbro amps). It's our environment that causes the 'sterling silver' jack switching contacts to oxidise. It not a design fault, but it does suggest that the amps that suffer this have not really seen much effort in servicing to keep them in tip-top condition. It takes about 10 minutes to clean them up... dead simple! SG100-112, 115 and 410 were quiet due to a number of problems caused by our brains!     IME 99% of the factory presets are useless for any real-world band situation and at best simply starting points for a sound that actually works with the rest of your gear and the overall sound of your band. When I get a new multi-effects unit the first thing I do is to wipe the first patch location and load it up with my default effects selection - usually EQ, drive, chorus and delay. I'll adjust each of those until I have sound I like, and then take the device to the next rehearsal where the sounds are further adjusted to suit the general band mix. This is then my "default" patch for that particular band and all other sounds that I need will use this patch as a starting point. All final adjustments are made when we are rehearsing the songs when they can be appreciated within the overall band sound. This is why technical rehearsals are important if your sound is any more complicated than simply plugging your instruments into you amps.

    For sale is my Musicman 25th Anniversary 4 string bass with dual humbuckers. It’s in excellent condition with just a few very minor wear marks in the usual playing areas. Ash body with mahogany tone block, quilted maple top in Venetian redburst, cream binding, maple neck with satin finish, rosewood fretboard, matching headstock. Frets are in excellent condition and have been finished flawlessly. The preamp and pickup switching options give this bass a huge palette of tones. Neck is a C shape with a 41mm compensated nut. Weight is 4.4kg and the bass comes in its original Musicman 25th Anniversary case, with cleaning cloth and warranty card. Collection preferred from my home in South London, but can post at cost.     Only owned for a couple of months, bought from Bass Bros. Has a new set of Daddario EXL-170 on. Bass Bros sold it as “immaculate”. It isn’t. It’s in very good condition, but there is some swirling to the finish, though it is nothing that could be picked up in a photo. The neck and headstock are immaculate, however with no chips or dents. Reason for sale is, I’m calling it a day on gigging… again. Circumstances mean I just don’t have the time for a regular gig. I’ll still dep here and there, but don’t want the BB sat about unnecessarily. This is the 2nd I’ve owned. Truthfully, they’re my favourite workhorse basses. They fit me and sound great for all styles. My first was only sold because it was too heavy at 10.5+lbs. This one is 9.5lbs and balances superbly. I’ll upload more pics over the weekend, below are the ones from Bass Bros. Located on the Isle of Wight, could do a Southsea meet up. Otherwise, collection and postage can be arranged. The Yamaha case is luxurious, but with that comes added weight, so postage could be costly. Any q’s please shout. Not looking for trades at this point. Cheers!

    My interpretation would be... Live vid, a straight recording of the band playing thru a song.. .. A video shoot would be a film version with lots of shots and angles cut in and edited etc, along to a backing track, not a live recording..

    This! Also as far as I am concerned Royal Blood is a pretty mediocre off the mill generic boring rock band, though with an interesting concept, that Death From Above 1979 however executes way way better. What an absolute conceited bloated **** head!

    The parallel output is hard wired to the input by design. This parallel output is the dry signal from your instrument. When the Bass Driver DI is bypassed your signal is un-effected and goes through a high quality buffer. When the pedal is engaged with the Blend off and the tone controls at noon, the signal is un-effected. It is a clean DI with no amp or speaker emulation but the EQ can be used if desired. The Drive and Presence controls will not work with the Blend off. When the Blend is turned up it starts to add the SansAmp circuit to your signal. Think of the Blend control like a pan pot that can sweep from un-effected to the full SansAmp signal. (On the Bass Driver DI the speaker sim cannot be turned off when the SansAmp circuit is engaged.)

    I haven't owned the Seymour but have owned a Cali and it is very good. No matter what people tell you though - there is only one cure for this sort of GAS though and it involves trying a Cali 76 yourself. Personally, I've abused the 30 day return policy of many internet orders and 'bought' stuff I pretty much had no intention on keeping beyond testing/comparing them.

    Hi Jake from the GK Legacy manual Theoretically the power should double as the impedance halves but like most amps this one won't quite double the power into 4 ohms. I would imagine the limit is the power supply current. If the power supply is limited to 800W then ultimately so is the amp so you'll get roughly 800W into anything lower than 4 ohms.

    No, don't confuse the things - that shows them running 4 speakers - if they were all 4Ω and in parallel then yes that would be 1Ω, but they aren't, they are 4 separate 4Ω speakers being driven by 4 separate amps, driven from the same source. And note this is perfectly possible with 4 separate ABMs (or even 2 separate ABM1200s) just that it has a mod to make this easier.

    Fits tightly in the GruvGear Guitar Kapsulite I couldn’t find the Kapsulite Plus which has wheels, the website shows that would be too small. But I’ve got a Kapsule waiting for me in the US which I’m hoping will be my 1 bag travel solution for long trips. I’ll be doing several flights with this in the hold over the next few months. The Thomann Beatle Bass bag was great and super light but it’s a nightmare carrying on on each flight. Even when you’ve got it on, finding space for it and then people dumping suitcases on top of it. Much much easier just to check and this was the only thing I could get in Colombia (Mono was more expensive and bigger). This is shorter but wider, obviously heavier but looks really sleek so overall looks more compact. Will see how it stands up to my next several flights. Not sure what I’m going to do when I buy a full scale bass again 😬 (Currently have a Gruv Gear Edge, Kapsulite, Kapsule. All guitar models and each with a Mustang in them)

    Right, so I have this neoprene Lekato strap that also was slightly too long for me. I ordered a thimble, black nylon sewing thread, upholstery needles on Amazon for a total of 18 pounds. I googled "how to sew" then folded the strap at the extremity that does not touch anything when I adjust length, and stitched everything together. My stitches do not look beautiful up close but that's all hiding inside when I play and the nilon thread is extremely robust. The strap now is perfect length, and still adjustable

    I've got a few 31.5" ACG 6ers, and a 26.5"... . I have tuned the 26.5"er B to C, and it works, but I find it cool to have something tuned a little differently around too.
