Stunning original USA Peavey 'Rudy Sarzo' Signature bass guitar from early 1990's for sale... 34" scale neck, 24 fret active monster! All maple neck thru with purple heart stringers. Ebony fret board with Snake Eye dot markers. Dual Peavey passive soapbar pickups made by Bartolini. Peavey "Dyna Bass" preamp. Volume, blend w detent, bass, mid, treble boost / cut w detent. Active / Passive toggle switch. In passive mode the treble pot acts as a regular tone control would on a passive bass. Comes with original Peavey hard shell case. Excellent used condition with amazing quality craftsmanship and construction. The story goes that years ago, Rudy Sarzo was in a recording studio and fell in love with an Alembic bass that belonged to the engineer there. After trying several times unsuccessfully to get the engineer to sell him the bass, Sarzo went to Peavey and had them recreate the features he liked on the Alembic. The result of Peavey's efforts was the Sarzo model bass and although it was only produced from the late 80's - until the early 90's, it remained the flagship bass from Peavey until the introduction of the Cirrus line of basses. One flick of a toggle switch and you're in passive mode, where the bass rumbles like an old P-bass or Stingray. The next, you're in active, punchy heaven! These are now extremely rare basses and infrequently come up for sale, and this example is about as good as they get. Similar to classic Aria SB basses in feel and construction. This is an extremely cool classic late eighties, early nineties bass. Would be perfect for any bassist in a classic rock band! if you're not a fan of 'signature' basses don't fret... his signature is very small and the average punter won't see it or know 😉 Collection from Sandhurst/Camberley area or will ship securely at cost with courier of your choice. Payment by bank transfer or Paypal (you pay fees). Please see my extensive postive feedback thread for assurance of a clean, honest transaction.17 points

The Police, Action Fraud etc. clearly aren't interested as he's savvy enough to make the frauds small enough not to be worth investigating, and his excuses loaded with just enough credibility to be believable. He also relies on his victims not bothering to expend effort over fairly small amounts. I doubt Suella Braverman's new approach to policing will improve matters, either. He made the mistake of attempting to scam me around 18 months ago, turned nasty (as he does), and I decided then that the easiest way to get back at him was twofold: Just follow him and jump on any misdemeanours using means that will jeopardise his "business", such as the above (he has already been reported to the Fraud line at Companies House and also the Investigations and Enforcement Department of the Insolvency Service), and "The Death Of A Thousand Paper Cuts". This is a technique which is far more enjoyable, allows you to indulge the limits of your creativity, causes him extreme annoyance over a long and sustained period of time, costs next to nothing and is limited only by your imagination.* [* I would like to share more just for sh1ts and giggles, but it would probably be best if I didn't. Let's just say I've successfully made his life a little less comfortable in many, many untraceable ways.]11 points

Up for sale is my beautiful Fender Precision Sean Hurley Custom Shop. It's a fantastic bass, but I have to raise funds for some other projects I have in mind. The bass comes with its case and the case candy that is seen on the picture. Shipping is possible at buyers risk and costs. But I prefer local pickup. The bass is located in Wiesbaden, Germany. Maybe we can meet up somewhere as I am willing to drive up to 200 km. Please feel free to ask questions you have. Sorry but no trades unless for Ken Smith Basses. The actual price for a new one is 5250 Euro and a waiting time over a year.10 points

Looks like Mason is attempting to wind up his company "UK Tribute Shows Ltd" and it's getting interesting for him. He applied to strike off the company in June. Two weeks later, an objection was received (probably from someone to whom he owes money), so the strike-off was suspended. This is where it gets even more interesting. In July, the same day on which his partner and co-director of the company was either sacked or resigned as a Director, he also changed the registered address of his company from 1 Kensington Close in Glen Parva (the place they've failed to sell since last September) to another address altogether... ...which just happens to be an abandoned and derelict office building down the road from him in South Wigston. The attached photo was taken from Google maps this month. So, either he's lying to Companies House about his address to avoid any litigants from tracing him, or he's roughing it in a sleeping bag. Under the Companies Act, "Knowingly or recklessly delivering information or making a statement to the Registrar of Companies that is misleading, false or deceptive is a criminal offence under section 1112 of the Companies Act and can lead to imprisonment and/or a fine." The appropriate email address to report such activities is [email protected] The following information is already in the public domain and readily available, so hope I'm not breaking any rules.... if I am, well [shrugs].10 points

Played at the big tribute festy on Saturday. We were on first in the afternoon, but there was a good appreciative crowd. Still kicking myself misreading the set list and launching into the wrong song on the second number. Should have been playing on Bb instead of F# so really didn't fit10 points

Hope it’s okay to share this - no idea if it’s of any interest to anyone here, but I thought it might be worth sharing anyway. The reason I filmed this - and the reason I’m posting this here (mainly for the topic in the first half of the video), is because I think it’s an interesting discussion about using many effects with bass This is just my two cents and thoughts on that, and a few other things. (Thought it was better to just post the video rather than write it out). Feel free to remove if it’s against the rules!8 points

Just with regards to the bit where you talk about being challenged about being too good for a woman... Years ago I was in a pub pool team, one of our very best players was a young woman, on her day she could beat anyone. There were at least 3 occaisions I personally witnessed during league games against other pub teams when after she'd beaten a male opponent the blokes actually stormed out of the pub and didn't come back. It was like on some level they actually couldn't cope with the concept that a 20 year old woman was a better player than them. Anyhoo the moral of the story is that some people are d1cks and their opinions on what women or anyone else should/shouldn't be capable of can be soundly ridiculed then ignored.8 points

I like that middle pickup setting too but the only one of the 7 settings I don't use in our classic rock covers set is bridge only. The switching versatility is what I love most about the Fender Rascal. This is how my re-bodied Rascal looks now.5 points

Thought I was done buying basses, but something on here has caught my eye. This is only up for sale whilst that one is available. I’ve had this bass since new. In excellent condition - only light surface hard to see scratches. Lovely playable neck which is more a C profile even though on a Jazz body. Delano pickups & 2 band preamp. Comes with the more robust Maruszczyk branded GBBS nylon gigbag, & a Maruszczyk leather strap. Has Schaller straplocks fitted. No postage. Collection or will meet up to an hour away from Swindon.4 points

That is what I prefer to do. Sadly there are many people who don’t let my bass do the talking (many of those reasons are mentioned in the video), so my voice has to - so I made this video as it’s something that is barely spoken about, but deserves to be.4 points

Hi all It's time to move this behemoth on: I've gone digital to save my glass back! This is a Fender Bassman 100T, a 100 watt tube amp that looks as good as it sounds. I bought this before lockdown in 2020, and have used it on approximately 20 gigs since. It's got oodles of volume and warm bass tones, and when I've played it through my Barefaced cab, it can drown out a small jet plane. I've predominantly used the vintage tone stack for classic Fender bassman tones, however the modern overdrive tone stack is notoriously excellent and can give you various different types of crunch or clean (just ask the Nothing but Thieves or Royal Blood bassists!) Switchable to 25 watts or even "silent recording mode", it makes an excellent addition to the studio also. The silent recording mode means that you don't need a speaker load whilst playing- very useful. There is also a switch to change between 2, 4, or 8 ohms as required. Also on the back panel is the Fender automatic bias, which does exactly what it says on the tin, and warns you when there are valves that aren't playing ball. Each time you turn the amp on, this bias checks each valve, balances them as required, and informs you if there's any valve problems. It's even possible to make the valves run warmer or cooler in order to perfect that tone you're after. This amp comes with a big beefy flight case which could withstand a small atomic blast (as if the amp wasn't heavy enough on its own...) This flight case has lived in the garage for three years and is showing the beginnings of rust on the outside. I usually opt for the lighter bump cover which is also included. *EDIT* Previously, here, I explained that I'd had issues with the amp, involving a slight distortion in the modern tone stack. These have since been fixed by Pro Audio Services who were near Swadlincote. In the last quarter of 2023 so far, the amp had absolutely smashed three gigs and a few hours of home practice, at both 25 watt and 100 watt mode, with no issues whatsoever. It is CRYSTAL clear. It's an absolute powerhouse, which is sadly getting retired now for something lighter. The amp comes with a foot switch also, which allows you to change between the vintage channel and the overdrive channel. Oh, and did I mention its just passed a PAT test? Oooohh. Anyway, this is pick-up only if you're interested. I'm not keen on shipping it as, including the cases, it weighs just shy of five metric tons. I'm based right in the middle of the country, and can even drive to meet up somewhere if required. Cheers for looking- I hope this interests someone3 points

I get this message when I log on: Well, I don't want that to happen. I don't want this website to share any information about my use of this site with your partners. But I'm only offered a button called "Got it!", so I can't deny permission. I'm not sure this is legal in the UK?3 points

It's a funny old do, this bass lark. You search for ages for a bass that you think is "the one" and it's love at first sight, or so it seems. The initial rush of blood subsides and things just don't work out. I bought this in March on this forum but we just haven't gelled. I'm sure we all know about Sandberg basses, impeccable quality, great sound and feel. This is basically a five string Jazz with John East J-Retro Deluxe electronics. It's as light as a feather, 3.1Kg according to my scales, so it'll put a few chiropractors out of work. Condition wise, apart from a couple of small dents to the body, it's pretty much mint. The neck is clean and free of dings and scratches. Comes with it's original Sandberg gig bag. Pick up in Loughborough or meet at a reasonable distance. I'm in Brum next week if that's any use to anybody.3 points

I am selling SUB 4 with all of the right mods on it to make it rather special. Firstly as a first run model this has a rosewood fretboard, not available on a the current new ones to my knowledge. Secondly i have swapped out the bridge for the smaller and more visually pleasing ray3x style bridge. Thirdly I have uprated the pre amp to the excellent retrovibe stinger '77 circuit. I have also vinyl wrapped the scratchplate and control plate in black carbon fibre. ( i can remove either on request) Finally I am selling this with a hipshot detuner. Very light plectrum wear on the front (couldnt photograph its that light. Other than that perfect.3 points

It’ll be incredibly heavy, and IMO there are much better modern cabs out there. With that in mind, the amp may be worth it with lighter cabs but personally I’d not go for it…3 points

Maybe I should give a bit more info on this, so here goes. Admins, please feel free to delete if this is too much but I'm very confident this is how he operates, having studied him for quite some time (with input from several others). I've seen Mason described here and elsewhere as a sociopath. He's not, he doesn't fit the pattern. He's simply an addict (gambling addiction) and they can get a bit complex. Also a very scared little boy. Bear with me. He's so absolutely desperate to hide his gambling addiction, because exposing that would reveal him for the weak, powerless individual he actually is. It would also end his relationship and main source of income (he and his partner still tour as The Carpenters Experience, although it's a fragile relationship). If she found him gambling (again) it would be "Finished With Engines". Instead, it's very common for addicts to admit to offences they deem to be lesser - in his case, that's his fraudulent activities, which he can get away with, with impunity (mostly), because they ultimately fund his gambling, and the gambling is something he does in absolute secret, his ultimate goal, away from anyone he knows, once he has the funds. There's a hierarchy at work here - he's blasé about covering up his "minor" pedal frauds, as long as no-one finds out about his gambling. That's why he was so keen to "out" Prowla as a paedophile, because that accusation (and its association) means nothing to him as long as his first line of defence is protected, and it diverted anyone away from his real aim - getting money to gamble, hoping Prowla would shut up, taking attention away from his ultimate goal, one step removed. It goes something like this... "Yes, darling, of course I sent that pedal to that bloke, they're just idiots and messed up the delivery, no, of course I haven't been gambling." And so it goes on. She turns a blind eye as a result, as long as he isn't gambling. They're in a hugely co-dependent relationship, which is another aspect of addiction. Neither does she know about the money he owes to various "private loan organisations". Oh boy. I've seen this because I've met them both. Neither would recognise me from either of the occasions on which I met them, but it was pretty obvious from certain "tells" that Mason was being very, very obfuscatory and his partner was regarding him in a "WTF is going on with you now?" manner. She's basically a decent woman, a lost soul, and he's an expert in charming people, which explains why she has never spoken out against him - love is blind, and he's an expert in gaslighting her. Mason lives in her house, and none of his bass gear is held there - probably because she doesn't want the debt collectors kicking her doors in. Some of those guys don't use warrants. Mason cannot maintain eye contact for more than maybe a fraction of a second, and is always scanning to see who's around, especially who's saying what to his partner. He's tame, almost demure, maybe playing himself down but not anyone capable of standing up to a fight, or even starting one. You could blow on him and he'd fall over looking for his phone because it has the William Hill and Ladbrokes apps he really needs. So, why am I dropping this now? A few of us have been trying to sort this pillock for quite some time via other groups, and realised he's really no longer worth the effort. He'll finish himself off, probably very soon. This is his End Game. I'm also 100% certain he's reading this, yet too dumb to figure out who I am. I'll post a couple of pics of my current basses and amps soon to prove I do actually still play the damn things.3 points

Thanks so much for the feedback, and for taking the time to check out my other stuff too! Are you meaning I should’ve scripted out the video in this thread? If so, I did have set questions which I then answered in sequence, all following the same subject (common misconceptions I, and other people, face, and the answers to those misconceptions), but anything beyond that would’ve gone against what I’m talking about in the video (I.e being genuine and expressing freely). Sorry if there was anything I missed and could’ve done better, I appreciate the feedback! Also for what it’s worth, personally I’m not a fan of scripted videos, I find them distracting (and occasionally disingenuous), even to watch, and there are so many out there. This video (and much of my channel) is more of a flow of consciousness, and showing myself as I am rather than anything scripted for the internet. I like seeing people show themselves in this way, as I think it’s quite a rare (or at least difficult to find) thing these days. But I can also absolutely see the value in scripted videos if it’s fitting for the subject matter (like a teaching video for example) I can completely understand why you would feel that way though, and that’s completely fine. I just wanted to offer a bit more context to the video, my channel, and the foundation it’s been built on. Hope I explained that ok! Thanks so much for the feedback as well!3 points

I had it all sanded and was looking forward to posting some pics - but I made a stupid mistake. I didn't have it clean enough and went to add a coat of oil, and basically ended up washing a load of padauk dust into the poplar, leaving ugly pink stains on it!. So, I'm sanding it back as best I can. Hopefully it will end up being an improvement - I don't think I'd done a good enough sanding job to begin with, so I'm going to try and do it better this time. Using poplar was a mistake, I think, but I had it there so went with it. It's not a good wood for oiling, while the neck woods absolutely love it. So in the coming days I'll do the best I can to get it looking as nice as possible. I really don't want to be messing with wipe-on poly or anything like that with a through neck build, because I wouldn't want it on the back of the neck. Hey-ho, I'm learning as I go. I'm either too stubborn or too blinded by the barrage of information online to do anything other than trying things out and then getting annoyed with myself when they don't work! Sorry - not a particularly exciting update for you all. Next one will hopefully be more colourful!3 points

Nothing constructive in your comment and you sound very defensive. There is a wealth of information out there for you to take or leave. What you decide to do really doesn’t matter to me, it’s your choice. But perhaps if you did learn music theory, you’d be in a better position to discuss whether you need it or not. There’s nothing to gain by this line of communication so let’s leave it here.3 points

Agh, you're both right. Sorry to be a pain but I've withdrawn the two remaining IE pedals for now - I sold the FMeron and Arcing Prisms but I can't let the FrantaBit and XD go at the moment. I've sold two pedals recently I immediately regretted, the Pladask Draume and the Triungulo Barbanera and I can see these being the same. I'm already on the list again for a Barbanera and I can't put myself through another IE drop and the crazy courier and customs fees. I also had a good hard look at the Subterrograph and couldn't justify spending that much on what is effectively two pedals I already have in one enclosure. It does look fantastic though...3 points

I have the MIM Fender FSR 70's Precision and it is absolutely amazing. It's my favourite look for a bass, so when I saw Fender had released them, I found a shop that had them, drove straight there, played it and had bought it within half an hour. The quality, finish, playability and tone is the best I've had from a Fender including the two US AV75RI Jazz basses I've had and the US Standard Jazz and Precision I've had. It comes as standard with 62 Custom Shop Pickups and US hardware and I've had Jon Shuker make a maple gloss fretless neck so it's now my Sting replica. It's also my go to bass for recording as it so is so good.3 points

Any bass rig that leans towards clean/hi-fi, rather than characterful, should do the job. The frequency range it needs to reproduce is pretty well the same, after all. A SVT would probably not be ideal, although I have heard excellent results on electric DB from a big Trace rig. PJB kit works well on DB (other brands are available). I use mine for both electric and acoustic bass. The most important thing is the pickup/transducer system you use. Garbage in, garbage out and all that.2 points

Well, I guess it all depends on personal skills, regardless of practice time. And also confidence and interests. I guess stakes at a jam night in a pub are not high but I am not sure why would I spend my limited free time putting myself in a situation I do not want to be in - such as the one you have described. That being said, I get the point many have made that some jam nights may not be as intimidating as I expected. Maybe in the right situation I could manage to put some roots and fifths in a simple chord progression or do something more if i know/learn a few songs. A friendly BC member suggested a couple of jams here in Bromley that I will check out as soon as I get myself to do it2 points

I built a 75L shelf ported cab for one of my SM212's (i'm a bit of a fan) as a mini sub for PA duties Now that's a beast! Maybe I should try that under a BC112T I can't believe Beyma discontinued the good old SM212. Such a great piece of kit. 😌2 points
