  1. Status series 1. Plays very niceley indeed, its got a very thin neck front to back and it's super stable, The bass is 9/10 condition with no dings or scratches to note, The pickup covers have a small crack in them, it's barely noticable and it certainly doesn't affect the sound, but I like to be transparent about these things. You're welcome to come and try it, but I'm a bit far north, so not practical for everybody. I can do whatsaap video calls if that helps, can demo anything or provide more pictures. It really is a lovely instrument, but I just bought something else, so could do with moving some stuff on before the missus kicks me in the balls. Thanks for looking, any questions, just fire away.

  2. Made in Japan non export, just sold to the Japanese market 32” scale Jazz bass. I imported this myself from Japan. Thinking of selling as I already have the Aerodyne medium scale and have been looking at some mustangs. Extremely hard to find JB62M, the body and headstock are also reduced in size by 6-8% I believe so much better for short people like Myself where a full sized bass looks a bit silly. I can post or you can collect from PE27 3FW

  4. Too good to be true? I'll find out when it comes next week! https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_squier_40th_anni._p_bass_dr.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw6eWnBhAKEiwADpnw9mDPt0TJAStbmdoXvxKbou7PoAnBDjS7cEBXw03oGhl0wPt_U0zNkBoCYqAQAvD_BwE It's been a couple of years since I moved on my last bass, a Sire V7. I stupidly sold my USA Fender P about 10 years ago and have regretted it to this day! Hopefully this will ease the pain somewhat. My order is confirmed, can't believe they're selling at this price! No mention of B stock on the website. Can't wait to get playing again 👍

  5. I have just added a CEB-3 to my (almost) all-Boss pedal board and the first thing I had to do after taking it out of the box was to remove the bottom plate and heat up the rubber foot with the wife's hairdryer so I can peel it off and replace it with velcro. I think boss could make it easier for people to fix their pedals to a pedalboard. Self-adhesive velcro doesn't stick well to the rubber foot of Boss pedals. If they wanted to make me happy, they could either supply a second plain bottom plate or supply the self-adhesive rubber foot unattached, along with a similarly shaped piece of self-adhesive velcro so you have the choice of which to fit.

  9. I bought this recently off Ander87 and it's a great instrument, but I've decided P basses are not my thing. It's in very nice condition overall, there are a few minor dents in the paint which i've captured in the photos, but they're not really noticeable, and reflected in the pricing. It's got some very tasty upgrades including EMG Geezer Butler pickups, Gotoh lollipop tuners, Fender high mass bridge, and a new mint pickguard that still has the protective cover on it, strings are NYXL 45-105 It's got a very nice neck, and it sounds like a good P bass should. Any questions just ask.

  11. Here's my new (almost) All Boss board I have replaced my Pedaltrain nano plus with a Harley Benton Spaceship Power 50C. This has the PSU with isolated 9v outputs built into the board and it connects to the mains via a kettle lead. Some of the outputs can be switched to 12 or 18V, and it has USB-A & USB-C outputs on the back for charging your phone etc. The bag it comes with is absolutely perfect and it also comes with every power adaptor cable you could imagine. I fitted a Harley Benton SpaceShip Pedalboard Blue LED strip to the bottom front of the board as I think it looks rather good. My boss pedals are TU-3 tuner SY-1 Synth - for doubling bass with cool 60s organ LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer - always on ODB-3 Bass Overdrive with Monte Allums mod - for when I want to add a bit more dirt to what I already get from my Ashdown ABM600 Evo iv CEB-3 Bass Chorus - arrived today, I'm sure I'll find a job for it in the setlist Then half on/half falling off the end the board is my trusty thumpinator. Not sure whether I still need this with the ABM600 though.

  12. I'm more than happy to step into his shows for $1M. I'll even supply my own strings. In fact, he can have my job and we'll swap roles, I'm sure he loves looking at contracts, trying to work out the best way to deliver IT projects. I'll train him up in MS Teams (just in case he doesn't know), I'll introduce hime to all the people in the team, he can make a weekly contribution to the coffee and biscuit club, if he wants he can even join the lottery club, where we all split the winnings, Tracy from HR runs that. Compared to, what, stepping out on stage with a couple of setptugarians, this role is far more exciting and has a career path and possibly even a pension. Rob

  13. It's the Stones. . . . what do you expect? You can't beat long blond hair, 4" heels and a good cleavage when you're selling rock and roll. It's not going to challenge Honky Tonk Women in the sets of most covers bands. You can hear the big hole left by Charlie but I like it and you know who it is as soon as you hear the first chord. In their 7th decade. . . . good on them.

  16. I have an old war story that kind-of qualifies. Was in the house band for a gig a few years back, where one of the guests was Trevor Horn. He was going to perform (of course) Radio Killed the Video Star, and it was all arranged that he was playing bass on it. I was gutted, but totally understood. As he was only going to turn up on show-day, I was asked to learn the bones of it to help the band through rehearsal in the days beforehand. It was quite a complicated arrangement, but I thought I'd better nail it just in case / just for fun. I'm glad I did... at the last minute he decided he just wanted to sing it, so I got to play it.

  17. I do find it mildly amusing the Sir Brian says it's all too painful and that Freddie's possessions are being sold to the highest bidder. Since Freddie's death, he has sanctioned the use of Queens music for such things as detergent adverts.

  18. The pack down from the #1 gig was hurried to make enough to travel to and set up for the second 50 miles or so away. The musician up next was setting up as we were packing down, but he was injured/on crutches and using helpers to set up (my guess is he knew what boxes were his and what weren't but they didnt). Anywho it got inadvertantly picked up, and not seeing it visible i had assumed that the other guys in the band had loaded it. Anyway the mistake was realised and the chap kindly returned it to the venue about a wek later. Simple mistake, honestly rectified, some faith in (musician based) humanity restored.

  19. I like Robert Trujillo but not Metallica. His talents are completely wasted with that band. I'm also a bit of a Duff fan but can't stand GNR. He played on an Alice In Chains tribute which is when I realised just how good he is. Really like The Cure but can't stand Robert Smith.

  20. There are some pretty stupid posts in this thread. Shame on you. Any musicians who want to gig and make records should do just that. More power to them.

  21. Up for sale is my Elrick platinum single cut 5 string. Its been a brilliant bass... I believe its a 2008 model, but cannot be certain? I've owned it for about three years and never had an issue with it at all. Its gonna be a hard one to let go! Features are... 35" Scale, though having a zero fret feels closer to a 34" scale than any 35"er I've played before.... Aguilar 3 band preamp - Volume and pan and Bass/Mid/Treble - Active/passive and mid scoop switches Lundgren single coil pickups with wooden (Wenge?) pickup covers - I received the bass with these fitted, and am very impressed with the sound. Quite similar character to Bartolini pickups. Having never heard of Lundgren pickups before, I was a little unsure, but these have sounded so good for anything I have needed them for. They are a small Dutch custom company. The main body wings are swamp ash, so the bass is very light weight. Maple neck. I can't really tell you much about the rest of the woods as I am uncertain what they are? I think the top is some sort of spalted maple (or Buckeye Burl has been suggested below), and have no idea with the fretboard (Wenge perhaps?)? Heel tone block could be Walnut and Padauk/Rosewood? Perhaps someone can say if they know? I will try and contact Elrick and see what they have to say? All in all for the age of the bass its in excellent condition... It does have signs of age as any used instrument would, however there is nothing to stand out as problematic? No real scratches or heavy dings... Anything it does have are minor and hard to spot and photograph. Given the cost of this bass, I would ask any interested party to come and play the bass first. I may be able to meet you if its within reasonable driving distance of Sheffield. It will be pickup only also due to the cost. It comes with a Hiscox light flite case. The case itself has a minor crack on the lid corner... The case still serves its function and protects the bass. I wouldn't fly with this particular case in cargo hold (this is where the crack happened with a different bass inside), but for running around day to day from gig to gig it is more than good! I trust these Hiscox cases after 20 years of using them (not endorsed, though could do with being! ). Frets are in great condition. Also has holes for Straplocks (Dunlop I believe?) I don't have the strap parts for then, but can see if I can find them, but they are available online. It doesn't have any traditional strap buttons, so you will need these if you opt for this bass. Price is firm. These go for north of £4000 to £5500 nowadays new. I would consider trades for high end basses, but need some cash to me in the deal as well. Shuker 5, Sei bass Flamboyant 5, Goodfellow/GB Rumour 5, Stingray 5, Lightwave 5, Maruszscyk Sputnik/Joker 5's, etc will be considered as partial trades. Any basses ideally 34" scale 5 strings, but we can see? Message me to discuss any potential trades?

  22. Open to partial trades and cash offers. This Instrument is an exclusively hand-crafted unique product. Low action and minimal relief. This guitar plays evenly up and down the board with no buzz. The frets and board have almost no wear at all. Electronics are stock and function as intended. There was a small finish chip that was repaired at one point or another between the neck pickup and fretboard extension, which is barely noticeable. --- Luthier: Jens Ritter Serial: 0643 Hardware Color: Gold Body Wood: Swamp Ash Body-Color: Black Piano + Red Champagne Body Finish: Transparent High Gloss Neck-Wood: Maple Neck-Finish: Transparent High Gloss Neck-Color: Red Champagne Fingerboard: Olive Ash Scale 35" (889mm) Pickup Bridge: RITTER Slimbucker Pickup Neck: RITTER Slimbucker Electronics: RITTER MASTER Parametric Tuners: RITTER BT - Custommade by Gotoh Nut: Bone Weight: 3.9kg Case: Original Case front.mov back.mov

  23. In pretty much immaculate condition, just the lightest of marks on the rear if at all, film still on covers, all works as it should and is thunderous. Spector NS contoured body and 2 band active EQ. Lovely roasted maple neck with no wear at all as she's had little use. Comes with heavily padded gig bag. Shipping UK £25. NOW £695

  25. Yes, yes, and yes. This is usually the point where I recommend an RCF 732-A... However... a powered speaker isn't the lightest option. If the lowest weight is the priority, look at Barefaced cabs, GR Bass cabs and combos, and the latest Markbass MB58R combos. (Although none of them is cheap.) A powered speaker also isn't the simplest option. You'll need at least a preamp pedal, and so then you'll probably need a power supply - so now you've got a small pedalboard setup which is an additional thing to be brought and plugged in at each gig. How loud do you need to be at your gigs - what style of music and what type of venues? I think you double on upright, if I recall from your recent posts - do you need separate EQ channels or can you get away with sharing one channel? If minimum weight and maximum simplicity were my criteria (and I didn't want to spend over £1000), the MarkBass MB58R P is only 10.5kg, and around £695. Plug straight in with a cable and that's it - pretty simple. There is no powered speaker at that weight of comparable quality and volume that I know of.

  29. If you are getting both the FoH mix and your individual bass send in your IEMs then you may have phase issues with the bass in your IEMs, but in theory not FoH where it really matters. Personally I think that sometimes we get a little bit too precious about on-stage sound. While it would be brilliant have a perfectly EQ'd and balanced mix for each musician in the band, that tends to cost more money than most bands want to spend. In the mean time I'll settle for being able to tell I'm in tune and in time with the rest of the band and enough of the vocals and other instruments to know where I am in the overall song structure without needing to count bars.

  33. Good luck with your new P bass...true P bass tone and the necks feel so much nicer than the necks of their Vintera counterparts. Pretty much the same sale has been happening here all summer. No wonder Squier's selling more basses than they ever have before, probably moving more P and J basses than similar Fender MIMs. I wanted a Fender Vintera bass, but not for the USA-made prices Fender was asking for them. Good thing I wasn't in a rush because I bought both of these on sale last month for less than the price of 𝘰𝘯𝘦 Vintera.

  34. I’m thrilled that it went to someone who actually plays it live. I’m even more thrilled that Kirk having it upsets the sad old blues gatekeepers. I always refer to it as the Greeny/Moore/Hammett guitar now. Kirk gets a lot of abuse, but he’s a proper guitar nerd and unlike his detractors he’s the one playing Hetfield rhythm parts every night. His recent interview with Rick Beato is great. He comes across as a really nice guy who still loves to play.

  39. My action was high and the relief was none, although I still gigged it and it sounded fine. I did the neck releif but there is no way the action is going down without a shim so I need to do that. then I think I will do something about the LEDs, I might replace the bottom LEDs with multicolour ones and have a bit more of a sound to light thing going on. i mean, if we are going for tacky here, might as well go the whole way! The drummer was impressed, but then he has a green acrylic drum kit, so the only dissapointment was that it wasn't green LEDs!

  42. ...don't know if it's possible to upload the mp3 clip of the pickup in action, but here goes... SR-pickup-raw.mp3 (Best heard tbrough headphones, of course) Ok, so this clip is recorded thro' my Palmer preamp, flat EQ, clean drive, no amp sim - masses of gain! Using a Zoom H2 recorder, mp3 file passed thro' Audacity only to Normalize level and reduce recording hiss Listening back to it, I'd probably want slightly more bass (maybe some mid and a touch of top?)

  43. Let’s be honest here, would anyone buy them if they did? People would just moan it wasn’t a P or J variant! I had a Dimension 5 and that was a great bass but, I rarely saw anyone else use one. Same for the pawnshop reverse Jaguar, Meteora and Rascal etc…
