Played our first gig with a new singer at Ringwood Meeting House, an old Methodist chapel. Last photo from upstairs, ‘the Gods’. Pulled about 50 on a rainy night. £10 admission (gulp!) shared with venue. Glad to have it under our belt really - not quite rehearsed enough, flying by the seat of our pants! Band - Otis Jay Blues Band Gear - Sandberg VM4, Barefaced One10, Elf. Great acoustics so minimal rig.19 points

Just played a gig for my guitarist’s 50th birthday party at the Donkey in Leicester. Plenty of family and friends seemed to have braved the biblical rain and thunder to come along. Gig included various guest slots etc from other local musicians and friends etc. I took my usual Yamaha BB604, pair of Markbass traveller cabs and took along the Ashdown ABM500 I picked up on here a few months ago. I’ve realised the Ashdown isn’t for me after all. Its textured, deep, pillowy sound doesn’t suit my playing style or my onstage sound as well as my Markbass head. It sounded good, but just not my thing (so expect to see it back up for sale on here in due course!) Oh yes and there was birthday cake too, obviously. So all good.17 points

Hot, sweaty pub rock covers last night in Dorking. Load in and out was potentially painful due to the road being closed (burst water main) but we found a work around. Found the first half of the evening stressful with the stage area being chaos - everything had just been dumped on it without any thought as to the most sensible approach to setting up a band. Once that was sorted the singer was getting tetchy about her IEMs, and then we started noticing an odd high pitched noise coming from my bass rig. Turns out the Handbox is super susceptible to noisy power, whether that was the fault of the pub or the LED lights we had running off the same ring main I’m not sure. A power conditioner is clearly in my future… So I switched to my Elf back up, cursing the fact that I’d *almost* put my TE1200 in the car but decided against it. But the Elf was fine, did a sterling job. The band was under rehearsed in all honesty- our second guitarist had switched to drums after the drummer moved north, and our first guitarist is currently unable to play due to a hand injury. We found a cool dep who learnt all the songs in 3 weeks, but two full band rehearsals for this weird new version of the band wasn’t quite enough for us all to bed in. We all played pretty well to be fair but we also all made some heinous mistakes! (Hopefully there isn’t any video of No One Knows 😂) All in all a fun night in the end, now to drop the PA back to its home and check my Handbox isn’t suddenly noisy at home as well… can’t decide if I’d prefer to buy a power conditioner or new valve set 😆16 points

Did two in a day (while since I’ve done that!) Played Wootton Blues Festival which was brilliant. Absolutely fantastically organised, great crowd and some lovely people there. Met a couple of bass players and had a delightful pint and burger. Will return (and recommend you apply to play there, too, if you play blues music). Next, a bar called Gin & Juice in Bristol full of very attractive, well dressed and actually very appreciative young people who danced and clapped along to a set of Chess-era blues classics. (Quite possibly in an ironic way, but the venue liked us and paid so can’t complain!) Ended up with damn near £200 for the night (minus taxi home), 3 free pints and a burger.16 points

I don't like boxing. The baying crowd, the violence, it appeals to our most base instincts. The dep gig I did in a pub in Swindon yesterday had to finish early so that the patrons could enjoy watching a 'big' fight. I was in my car and heading to the M4 at a quarter past ten. Home in bed before midnight. I was a big fan of boxing last night.15 points

Saturday night with the covers band Top Deck. One of our regular haunts, The Holly Bush, Marehay, Derbyshire. The crowd was smaller than normal but given the thunder, lightning and torrential rain, fair dooz.15 points

A day trip to the seaside for Glam Fever yesterday. Skeg Vegas…..well Chapel St. Leonards, what a lovely sunny day too. A great club, afternoon gig so an early finish. The wife and hound made the trip also but no dogs allowed in the venue so Megdog got a nice lie on the beach. Not my best performance as compromised by a tooth abscess (don’t get me started on dentists….), but the venue was well chuffed and more bookings for next year hopefully. Also met Dean Andrews of ‘Life on Mars’ and Emmerdale fame while we was there.14 points

40th birthday party at Red Barn just outside Hereford. Lots of families with lots of children running round, and whilst the venue is stunning in an amazing location a) it sounds like a barn, all boomy and chaotic and b) everyone sits outside as it’s so pleasant. Was hoping it would shed it down again. We had sections of the crowd dancing all night but it didn’t turn into a properly mad night. On the plus side- free Beefy Boys burgers for all (I had the blue cheese, delicious if messy) and the easiest ape sticks set up- just stick ‘em to the wall. Was doing the obligatory shot of my first wife under said lights when my second wife photo bombed it.14 points

Last night, Nine Lives played at O'Donoghues - first time we've played there. What a cracking night! Decent crowd, I could get used to these late starts (11pm) if this is the result. Lots of dancers, singalongs and memorable characters and incidents. Early on in the set, this big guy decided to take a breather and have a seat on the end of the "stage" (it's like a foot high, maybe) and promptly sat his big arse down on my pedalboard. Thankfully he was soft and squidgy enough that he didn't mute me or change any settings - I had to give him a few pokes in the back and he got up. Moved my pedalboard back a bit after that. Then some guy came up and tried to talk to me mid song, I mean like how? Anyway I glared at him and he bogged off but it put me off my stride for a couple of songs because it pi$$ed me off. But the winner was this guy who was very enthusiastic in his appreciation of us. He was trying to high five us/fist bump a heap of times (I acquiesced when I could) then he asked to borrow my hat a couple of times - I allowed him to take it off my head and wear it for a song and he was fine, it was returned to me unscathed. But there's more! I didn't see this, but apparently he got so into what the guitarist was doing that he undid his fly and proceeded to play air guitar with his penis being the guitar from what I can gather. I mean, like WTF? I think the air guitar/penis incident happened after he borrowed my hat. At least, I bloody well hope so. Still, was a busy and fun night all in all, and it looks like we passed the audition - venue has already been in touch asking us for our availability for next year. Gear was a shiny new Sire Z7 then my black and gold Les Paul into the usual Markbass tone cubes.12 points

Played with blues band ‘The Alligators’ last night at a seaside boozer in East Yorkshire. I say ‘seaside’ as the venue in question ( The Sellwood Arms ) is getting closer to the sea at a perilously alarming rate due to coastal erosion. Talking to the landlady, she says it probably has another 20 years left, which they knew when taking it on. Last night the waves sounded quite near though! Anyway, the gig went well although first impressions were a bit doubtful - small playing area in one large room, one mains socket for the band and some err… colourful locals already well oiled. Quite a few ‘Satan’s Slaves’ members in ( a motorcycle club ) and turned out the landlord is a member too. We did two sets of around 50 minutes, and got some dancers up which helped us out a bit. Played two encores , one of which was me doing ‘You never can tell’ which got some interesting shapes being thrown by the punters. Used my Precision Lyte into a Rumble 500 combo, perfect for the job. The landlord asked if we would do New Years Eve , but I’m already booked - for a gig in Scarborough with my acoustic duo playing dinner / lounge music, which despite only being up the coast in Scarborough couldn’t be musically much further away. 😅12 points

This week I welcomed this absolute stunner to the stable! A 2016 PDN StingRay, key features of this one being the stunning Starry Night finish, roasted Birdseye Maple neck and an unmarked Ebony fingerboard, apparently the first run of 'Rays to not have inlays! I've wanted one of these since they were released, I grabbed a Charcoal Sparkle a couple of years ago but it just wasn't the same. It's a beauty, and transforms depending on what light is on it! HUGE thanks to Mick (@MM Stingray 62) for his patience with me over this, kept him waiting for two months whilst I scrambled the cash, all without a grumble. Cheers buddy!11 points

LAST NIGHT! The Cantina band at the Cameo Suite in Coleshill (Brum) for a 60th birthday party. I've played here before with the big band, tonight was a very different vibe. We'd invested in (and were all wearing) some 'Mos Eisley Cantina' T-shirts ('No droids! Live music!'), which made us look like we'd put some thought into a cohesive onstage appearance and would project an air of professionalism. (We hadn't. It didn't.) Load in during a biblical rainstorm was fun, setup fairly standard, (I got to tell my 'Ernie Ball gave me this Bass for nothing' story), the audience didn't look like your typical heavy rock fans, we thought we'd be about as popular as a double-sided sandpaper condom but to be fair a few of them got up and had a boogie, so that was nice. The second set was tons better, loads of people up and dancing (apart from Helter Skelter, which absolutely cleared the dancefloor), the 80s section of the set went down a storm, my hiphop joke got a laugh (just the one) and they were loving it by the end - even the too-cool-for-school youngsters were up dancing. I spent the last three songs on the dancefloor (apart from going to the bar to order a round of drinks mid-song as it was last orders) which was ace and got a lot of bemused looks. Sterling -> small board -> MB CMD121P. I played a couple of songs with a pleccy for the first time in about twenty years, which was very gratifying, the drummer played a blinder (he's an absolute machine, he deps with Edwin Starr (!), no idea why he's playing with a bunch of half-arsed charlatans like us), we even got the riff in the Sweet child of mine solo right, birthday boy loved it, Mrs birthday boy (who'd booked us) loved it and it was a pretty decent payer. Pack up, load out (rain had stopped, thankfully), Marvin Gaye on the way home, back about 1 for a Henry Westons vintage (8.2% ABV - the Hereford Heroin) and leftover Jambalaya.11 points

Played at The Gryphon in Bristol last night as a part of Gryphest. After battling Bristol traffic to get to the other side and being a bit late, it actually went very well. Sound checked quickly, but it sounded great. I was running my Combustion and pedalboard into my new Digbeth and an old Trace 410 that is the venues and I'm really confident that my new head was the right move. Just looks and sounds the part a bit more. We've also finally managed to convince the guitarist/singer to use an amp instead of going direct with his Valeton unit. It just sounds better like this. We have a more cohesive sound. Also, it's doom. Amps are expected. We (Hora) opened up the evening. Godless Suns were after us, telling tales of how the gods have betrayed us with crushing riffs. Battalions then tore the house down. Wasn't entirely keen on the vocals, but they were tight AF. Witchsorrow then finished the night with a very polished set of face melters.10 points

Yet another 'tweak' to the board. Meris back on, h9 off, but plans to use the h9 on a second smaller board that I'm hoping to build over the next 4 weeks or so.... I love the Meris. It's beautiful.8 points

I trust everyone but expect to be disappointed occasionally. Re the OP, and as happened to me, the fact that an amp is apparently knackered is not proof of or even an indication that the seller was dishonest or even aware of the problem. I’ve seen a trend in almost 20-years of selling here towards the buyer expecting immaculate condition and Amazon delivery/return speeds and terms. We’re mostly* musicians with busy lives moving on gear we no longer use and not looking to make a profit in doing so. We could all be a bit more understanding of this at times. * There are exceptions sadly8 points

I snapped this up as it is one of my favourite ever basses these and I used to use one of these as my main! An Ibanez Premium bass so top of their range at the time. This one it is "tatty" but it plays great and sounds incredibly good. Lots of mojo and lots of grunt. It is also very versatile, as being a great rock machine. It has a fitted functional case to keep it safe. Someone will love it and I'm passing it at the price originally advertised on here:7 points

Depends how seriously you take playing in a band. Do you mind letting your band mates down, screwing up a gig, disappointing an audience, pissing off a promoter? I do, so I bring 2 of everything. The last time I had a cab fail was in the 70's, the last time I had an amp fail was in the 90's and I've never had a bass fail, but I still bring 2 of everything.7 points

I must admit my preference in selling is people collect so I can demonstrate the item is working, likewise with buying I prefer a demo if at all possible. I’m not fussed with driving a few hours, makes for a day out and peace of mind.7 points

There's a real, tangible gender inequality in the music industry (speaking as someone who works in it) and the more positive role models there from all demographics and backgrounds who can actively and visibly use their presence to show young people who might not otherwise see the creative industries as a viable career route that it's actually possible to follow your dreams and make a living out there, the better. If a bunch of young girls see Blu amongst the sea of typical blokes with guitars and think "maybe there's a space for me here after all?", then that's a positive thing. Doesn't sound like nonsense to me. As a dad of two daughters, and having given work and experience opportunities to many of my wife's students when she spent 10 years teaching in another male-dominated creative industry, I'm acutely aware how important it is for people to have role models they can relate to, and the difference that can make in how they perceive their ambitions and their chances of success. Honestly, it's sad to see such a negative reaction to someone trying to put positivity out in what they do.6 points

I've made very few alterations to my board since getting the Quad Cortex. I made a few alterations last night and pretty happy. I'm really enjoying this layout, though. Got my Model feT and Cali76 as pretty much always on and a couple of dirt flavours the QC doesn't really cover. I'm really happy with the bass and guitar tones I'm getting out of this.6 points

I've got a Bongo and a Stingray Special. They are very different basses both in terms of sound and how they feel to play. It would help to know a bit more about the problems you had with your Bongo and what it is that you are dissatisfied with about the Stingray. Regarding 18 volts, I personally have never noticed much difference between 9 volt active EQ and 18 volts in practical terms, but I don't usually crank it up that much. It just depends on the design of the circuit. For example, back in the 1990's I used to have a Status Empathy with an 18 volt circuit. I remember plugging in an old Wal with a 9 volt circuit and comparing the two. The Wal was literally twice as loud. When people talk about extra "headroom" I'm a bit sceptical about how useful that might be in reality. Manufacturers are quite good at solving problems that folks never realised they had. There's plenty of 9 volt circuits that are perfectly good. I've certainly never come across a Stingray that seemed underpowered, going back all the way to the original pre-EBMM instruments. To my ears, the Stingray Special is a good-sounding example of that design, but it's not radically different to any previous Stingray, except it substantially lighter in weight.6 points

Here's an interesting one for you. I've had a Roland Micro Cube Bass RX mini combo for close to fifteen years. I bought it new from a Roland dealer when I was working in the Middle East. I'm now in the UK. From day one the amp would distort after 10 or 15 minutes of playing. The attack part of the note would distort. I took it back to the dealer twice. First time they said there was nothing wrong with it. Second time, some years later, they told me the same thing. Or at least that's what they said in the shop... They were closing up for the day and as I was leaving the shop the technician followed me out of the door and as he passed me he said, "Its the power supply" then promptly disappeared in his car. Strange behaviour but... its the Middle East, strange things do happen. When he said 'power supply' I assumed he was referring to something on the power supply side inside the amp. I assumed it was something they couldn't or wouldn't fix. So for years I've had this combo lying about gathering dust. Every now and again I'd give it another try but always distortion, even at the lowest of volumes. I wouldn't sell it because I knew it wasn't working right. Then recently I had a beer-fuelled gear chat with my electronics engineer friend and he suggested it could be the external power supply causing the problem. I know almost nothing about electronics but I do trust Roland gear. Its normally bullet proof. My mate had suggested that distortion can happen when there's not enough juice going though the amp. Could the PSU itself be under performing? Its a 9V 2Amp brick and easily replaceable but at Roland prices. And still I continued to wonder why. Its bugged me for years that it doesn't work right. I've even seen YouTube reviews that say "its a great little amp" but there is also at least one review that says "buyer beware, this thing distorts." So what's going on? Then I find myself online buying a PSU for another device and I stumble across a 9V 3Amp PSU for £13. I'd never seen a 3Amp one before and at that price I figured I'd chance it. And... success! It no longer distorts. In fact it sounds fantastic. Its an amazing little unit with amp modelling, rhythm unit, tuner, chorus, flanger, wah, delay, reverb, compressor. Brilliant. So if you happen to have one of these and you've given up with it due to distortion, try a new uprated 3 Amp external PSU. It fixed mine.5 points

I used to quite arrogantly just take one bass to the gig for many years but in the last few years I've taken two. Then I got the bright idea of swapping basses at half time. I don't give a monkeys if they're completely different basses - in a band mix, in a room full of pissed up punters, who cares which bass I use? At my most recent gig I played a Sire Z7 in the first half and my Epiphone Les Paul in the second half. Completely different basses. Why? Well, no-one's given me a credible reason why not, so I'm just going to continue to do my thing. If I take two basses to a gig, I might as well use them!5 points

Gigged my Elf last night for a 2.5 hour hot, sweaty pub gig because the power in the pub was making my Handbox make some weird noises a it’s obviously susceptible to noise sadly so power conditioner is on the cards… The Elf didn’t put a foot wrong. Quiet as a mouse when not playing, plenty of volume and heft with all the different patches on my HX effects. Lots of really nice compliments from the audience including a recent ACM graduate who told me my tone was “perfect”, “crushing” (it was a rock covers band so this is good!) and “exactly what he tries to achieve”. I caught him googling both the Trace and Barefaced options in our break 🤣 So, can’t the Elf hang with a band for a long hot gig? Yes. Was a worried about it at all? No. 😎5 points

There's a bit to unpack here. You picked it up, yet didn't test it? If you collected it, why didn't you take it back? Why wasn't the seller approached to contribute/cover the repair cost? Is the seller from BC? 'never trust anyone'? You're seriously sticking with that?5 points

Hi. Final Price £450 but No Offers as this is a great price for such a bass in prime condition and no play wear . I’ll move this on if no interest during October. A stonking performer that will cover a vast range of tones and this one’s a real looker ( + Matching Headstock, so difficult to find ). USA version acquired this year so I can’t justify keeping this beaut. I have another gorgeous bass for sale here because I couldn’t resist buying the USA made equivalent. An extravagance because the Tribute Series electronics and hardware are the same spec as the US made basses. Anyway, I’ve done it now so this beauty can be yours. I bought it new from Andertons in 2020. S/No 181122060 Made in 2018. Weight 4.36kg 9lbs 8oz. 43mm nut 19mm string spacing at the saddles ( D’Addario nickel plated rounds) These with the matching headstock were only made for a short while and seem a rarity preowned so here’s your chance! There are loads of Youtube demos of G&Ls L2000 so if you are not familiar, check those out. Volume Treble Bass and Leo Fender’s unique electronics means the Bass and Treble work when it’s in Passive mode. 3 switches Passive/Active/Active with high end treble Series/Parallel Pickups selector Bridge,Both, Neck. With all these controls it really is helpful to have the pickup selector. Flipping marvellous! 🤓 Not used a great deal as I have quite a few basses so no signs of wear and all works perfectly. Luscious creamy paint with gloss. Two tiny specks on the body front which simply look like dust. See if you can spot them in the photos. They’ll be joined by the usual dust in the air and really aren’t noticeable. I only spotted them yesterday by being OCD during my inspection! I’ve added two more pics showing the specks location. In the close up, for comparison, there are 3 specks of actual dust above the knob and switches happened to settle as I faffed before taking the shot. The body on this production run was Basswood but feels as solid and sounds like an Alder body. The fingerboards were Brazilian Cherry. Too light for me so I’ve darkened it with Fiebing’s Pro Dye liquid stain ( Dark Brown ) after consulting my usual Pro technician. Fret dot markers protected the pearl dots. I applied some matching cream Jockomo markers which can be removed but I love them. I’ve checked typical preowned prices to pitch mine but this is a rarer finish and in top condition. Upgraded knobs with indicators and upgraded string tree with slots. Having said that. Make me a near offer and we’ll see. I have other basses up for sale only. 3 others. Gave the fretboard an little oil clean today ( it didn’t need it but my paw marks are not on it now). Frets needed their annual polish so the end two photos show that. I’ll double box this to you using the original coffin box inside a large box. Cheers and please ask away if you wish. Quent4 points

Sharing a little love for Canva.com, a free graphics creation site. It has loads of templates and editable designs for everything from A3 posters to Instagram posts and facebook banners. If you work in a school (like I do) you can get a free upgrade to the pro account, which adds features like social media post scheduler, animations, premium content etc etc. As an example, I have zero artistic ability and I used it to make my new band's logo and this instagram animated/audio promo in about 15 minutes. #Edit Apologies, I can't make the promo any smaller! Selling my Gibson ES-335 bass. It's all in perfect working order, but does show signs of wear and tear. No major scratches or dings, but the bodywork has lost that lustre. Certainly not mint, and the case also shows signs of plenty of use. As most will know, Gibson only made 400 in each of the three colours (cherry red, black and tobacco sunburst), so they're reasonably rare. Has a beautiful heavy sound. I simply don't play it much, and would rather move it on to someone who will. I do travel around a bit so may be able to deliver. The previous owner replaced the black knobs and pickup surrounds with light/cream colour Gibson replacements, but the originals will come with the bass so can be turned back to original. Comes with the Gibson certificate.4 points

Thank you everyone very much for taking your time out to help. Yesterday I took my bass to a music shop in Dursley to get it looked at and within 10 minutes he straightened it out and it feels like new ( only for £10 as well) So I can now keep my neck and mother of pearl without risking anything or spending far more than is necessary. But still thank you all very much for the help4 points

To play devil's advocate, and this doesn't seem to be the case with this particular experience, but I have bought things from trusted people where there ends up being an issue with the item totally unknown to the seller, so long as everyone is on the same page about coming to a positive resolve, then no worries.4 points

Here’s a beautiful Cort A5 Artisan Open Pore Black Cherry five string in perfect condition. No Offers thank you. Already great value for a top bass in mint condition. I’ve owned this from new in April 2015 , from Richards Guitars. Absolutely love the bass and the Bartolini MK 1 pickups and MK 1 preamp with EQ off/ on switch - not that I switch it off ! Vol Blend Treb Mid Bass. Through neck 5 piece maple and Panga Panga laminate. Very light and comfortable at 3.95kg , 8lbs 12oz. I replaced the rubber O rings on the control knobs ( they get perished after several years even when kept at home like my bass) I added adhesive fret markers to the lower side of the board which I will remove easily if you wish. The inset abalone ones are top side but I need more guidance on the board. No dinks or dents or scuffs etc. This is totally mint. Superb Hipshot bridge and tuners. I managed to get hold of a flamed maple FMMH one that’s even lighter ! Hence the sale. I like flames. The only difference between this and the Cort variant A5 Plus Flame Maple Mahogany model ( FMMH) is that you get a flamed maple figured body top to the mahogany body. With this one you get an already beautifully characterful maple top to it’s mahogany body. Apart from that they’re the same - except the mahogany on the FMMH is finished in a dark stain compared to mine, which has a more natural colour to the back. 34” scale and the B string plays very well. My newer one has Flats on it vs the D’Addario 45-130 on this one. Both sound wonderful to me. Nut width 45mm String spacing at saddles 18mm Lovely satin finish to the body and neck, satin type finish to the knobs and bridge. Please ask if you need more information. I’ll double box this for UK delivery. Cort Coffin box inside larger box, well protected or if you’d prefer, I have an old road worn hard case I could use instead. It came from California with a bass I bought , so it’s had a right old life I imagine. Cheers. Quent4 points

Hi, I am looking to pass on this great bass. Condition is A1 and it comes with the soft case pictured. It has great upgrades and plays really well. I bought this from Rayman, and reckon it was a real bargain but will accept the same price. Reason for sale is that I want some money to put towards studio time. I never really had a use for it and was just curios 😎 Here is the original post.3 points

Only time I ever needed a backup was at a gig when I hadn’t taken one. It was a fault in the electrical parts. Fortunately the headliners lent me their spare, otherwise I would have been sat around like a spare. To make life easier I have a Mono M80 Dual which is only a bit bigger than the single, makes it a doddle to take 2 basses to gigs.3 points

I can't count the number of items I've bought here and on FB and eBay. Only twice have I come home with a piece of absolute crap. Both times my fault. First time for believing the seller and the second for not having the balls to pull out if the deal and demand my money back. And once I sold a perfectly good, working bit of gear in great condition and ended up having to buy it back because it was apparently not working. It works perfectly and always did. Why do I remember these three so clearly? Because they are exceptional. I'll go on trusting people.3 points

The last couple of videos I've done I've used a square aspect ratio... seems a very backward step to 1920s TV but works well for social media. But back on topic, last night's gig was playing at the Equinox Boat Burn at Butser Ancient Farm. An awesome experience - still coming down from it!3 points

*Edited to add photos* First proper bass I owned was a Hohner 'The Jack' headless back when I started to identify as a bassist rather than guitarist. At the time I was a bit self conscious that regular basses (i.e. long scale with large headstocks) looked a bit silly hung around my 5'7" frame, so headless made sense to me. I soon overcame that and a couple of headed basses came and went. I sold the Hohner during a lull in my playing career but recently purchased a different one from this parish which has recently seen a lot of action in the build up to a couple of gigs I'll be playing in the next few months. The next milestone bass was another headless, my Spirit XZ2. Milestone because it's been with me the longest and will probably be the last bass to go should I have to sell up. It has a drop D bridge and I've fitted a GK3B pickup to drive a Rioland V Bass. Its played or been sat as a back up for probably half the gigs I've played. Next milestone was my Sterling Stingray 34HH. Still the most expensive instrument I've owned (even with the discount my mate got for being in the trade). One of my influences is Tony Levin and that got me interested in the Stingray. It has a range of tones on tap and for the main band I play in that's ideal as the repertoire of songs is many and varied. It's heavy The last one (for now) is my Fender Player Precision. Simply because it was the first Precision style bass I'd played and I was immediately smitten by the sound and the way it fits in with any band I've played with. I was a Precision sceptic until I was persuaded to try one.3 points

First pass at redoing my second board onto a PT Nano rather than a Nano+, tighter spacing, but I wanted the smaller footprint. The trickier 3 switches in the middle of the board (Tuner/Drive/Chorus) should be much more accessible with he addition of some Barefoot Button ‘Tallboy’ switch toppers (yet to arrive, the standard Mooer ones pictured). Corona Chorus and the 66 are getting swapped out in the next month or so, watch this space. All powered with a Cioks Sol smartly fixed in place with their clamp, very neat setup that! We played an intimate acoustic set, mostly on two mandocellos last night in Old Town, Swindon. We supported Canute's Plastic Army who were both talented and very personable. Lots of peop!e came who had seen us before at Swindon Shuffle last year. I am 5 1/2 months alcohol free now and I think it was a strong contender for my personal favourite show of 2024.3 points
