Reluctant sale of one of the best basses I've ever owned. Purchased new by me from Spain. It's in very good condition overall with a couple of very small nicks and some light surface marks. The frets are barely worn and the neck is straight. This limited run of USA 60th anniversary basses were created to show off all the best attributes of all the classic P basses over the years. Very light at 3.6kg. Did I mention it's a reluctant sale?

As I need space and money for "the double-bass love of my life" I sell some real special stuff. Selling something very rare and special: Millenia TD-1 Studio preamp. Pretty much "as good as it gets" when it comes to state-of-the-art recording. Anthony Jackson used Millenia Preamps for years in his live rig. I used the preamp in my studio for bass recordings. But it is also excellent for almost any other instrument or vocals. Very flexable and versatile with the tube preamp and transistor preamp. Price drop: £600. I can't quite believe I'm selling this bass, as it has been my favourite ever Pbass, and I've owned quite a few. These have been discontinued a few years now. They are amazing basses. This one sounds absolutely immense, and the neck feels lovely to play - really smooth. It has great sustain. These were made alongside the superb Roadworn series, and they were amazing build quality too. Wish I could have justified keeping my Roadworn Jazz, and Roadworn P - but i can't justify keeping too many! So why are you selling it? I hear you ask. Well, it's mainly because I'm mostly gigging with Upright, and short scale bass guitars. Age has started to dictate that I need less weight on the left shoulder, as I'm playing some long gigs. Also, I'm tending to prefer less stretching for my left hand fingers too.... sadly. It weighs just a shade under 4kg, if memory serves me, and the nut is 44mm wide - and it's not overly deep, front-to-back, so doesn't feel too chunky. I did try a couple of slimmer necks on this bass, inc a US Jazz maple boarded neck, and an MIJ neck which was slightly slimmer. However, nothing really sounded as resonant, as punchy, or as snappy as when this original neck is on the bass. I guess they get the matching just right in the factory? EDIT: also, maybe the wider neck gives the bass more punch, or low end? Both maple board necks had more snappiness than the rosewood, and it the low end really was more defined with this neck than the US Jazz neck.... Currently strung with my favourite TI flats, which are about 2.5 years old, and nicely bedded in. I could put a set of rounds on it, if you prefer - but I would urge the buyer to try the bass with these flats... they really are superb. This bass originally had an anodised gold scratchplate, but I just preferred Tort. I don't have the original plate, but you can get them easily enough on eBay. There is a small scratch / ding on the upper edge, near the back of the body. This is from the previous owner. I gently sanded the edges of this, to stop it catching on my shirt. No trades thanks. I need to thin the herd. Collection from Cardiff, or I might be able to meet. I much prefer to hand a bass over, and give the buyer chance to try.

****UPDATE - REDUCTION TO £2800.00***** Final reduction before I withdraw from sale and put away under the bed! Hey guys, this is the second of my basses to go - I'm not gigging regularly and have weighed up for 2 years now which 2 I would let go. With a heavy heart, I'm putting up for sale my beautiful 1974 Fender Jazz Bass in sunburst with RW board, block and bound neck and black scratchplate. It's in beautiful condition, with literally about 2 or 3 'dings' on the body, which you can see in the photos. When I bought it, it hadn't been played in years - my guess is that it had laid under someones bed or something as it hasn't had a hard life at all. I mainly used it for recording and 'bigger' type gigs - not for weddings and pubs etc! I dated the pots off the codes - week 5 of 1974. Red ink on the bottom of the pickups appear to show 1974 and the serial number can obvs be checked also. I've owned it once 2015. The neck pickup wasn't working at all when I got it, so Matt at ://www.houseoftonepickups.com gave it a full set up and rewound the neck pick up back to period correct specs and wax potted - all hand wound. I have the paperwork from Matt somewhere. She sounds absolutely mint and is a decent, comfortable weight!! Test drives welcome with a brew provided in Wrexham. Comes in a modern, used, Fender hard case. I'd rather not post this due to value - at your risk!! Surely something of this vintage needs picking up! Sale only, no trades. 14-10-2024 - added a photo of underside of pots - can see codes 1377405 - week 5 Jan 1974. It all seems to add up to being a late 1973 / early 1974 4 bolt neck Jazz Bass. Cort Space 5 Bought new from Bass Direct about 6 months ago (I have the receipt), still in very good condition - just a few little light cosmetic marks. Plays well, sounds good, well balanced while being lightweight and comfortable. 3.56kg. (slightly less than 8lbs) With Cort gig bag. £560 £490 Collection preferred: I live in Chichester, or am in West London on Mondays, or Worthing Wednesdays. If posting: It will be well protected in gig bag & cort box & wrapping & outside box. No Trades for Basses or Amps or Cabs etc. The only thing I'm after is a decent compressor pedal (Cali 76, Empress, Becos, BC-1X).
