  2. My current board after downsizing and sticking with bare necessities. I offloaded alot of pedals recently due to an emergency back home in the Philippines. I'm just glad that got sorted and I still have a board to work with.

  3. Picked up this 2013 recently. It's not a Fender so I think it's just staying with me temporarily, but nevertheless it's a stunner.

  4. Wilcock Mullarkey in the classic vintage white/maple combination (as played by Tim Lefebvre, Me'Shell etc) with Dunlop flats. Still in very good 9+/10 condition. I have gigged it several times but amazingly not managed to put any scratches or dings in it that I can see. Weighs 7.4 pounds. New these are £2650, I believe. I will let it go for £1900 delivered within UK (sorry UK sale only), or £1875 collected from a public space in SW13 London (Barnes). Will come in Fender padded short scale gig bag but will also be well wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard. Why sell if its so great? Simply put, I am going back to long scale now that my damaged left-hand has largely recovered from horse accident in 2023. I have a substantially less valuable Mustang bass as backup should the need arise for a short scale. Oh and the money would be useful! So no trades, thanks More pics from previous seller's ad below

  6. I really wanted to give a big shout out to GuitarGuitar for putting on a free Sandberg/Yolanda masterclass and showcase last night. I mean, it was a big old marketing event with the founder Holger Stonjek on the Cajon, but the four-piece they had was very listenable and it was really good fun to hear from the guy who started the company. Yolanda though, what a talent and such a communicator. Really enjoyed hearing about her work touring with Hans Zimmer. One person in the audience even won a Sandberg California bass!!!! Anyway. I'm not on the socials so this is the best way I can think to let people know that it was a really good event, well organised, huge fun to be at, and I am proud to support an employee-owned company that seems to be doing well selling guitars on high streets around the country in a very tough market.

  8. Looking back over this thread we should be able to meet quite a few people. I think the BC members on exhibitor stands are, in no particular order: @Goliath_FX - GoliathFX @Vishyyy - Focusrite on Saturday @skelf - ACG @Manton Customs - Manton Customs @Machines , @Bass Direct - Bass Direct @AndyTravis, @walshy - Vintage Bass Room Anyone I've missed? Those intending to go: @jazzyvee, @Kev, @Rich, @ped, @AlexDelores, @Stub Mandrel, @Jackroadkill, @Wombat, @FJ1200, @Bilbothebassplayer, @tauzero, @Beedster, @tonyf, @Richard R For those visiting on Saturday I suggest meeting up by the stage when Steve Lawson is on at about 2pm. Those on Sunday - sort yourselves out by the GoliathFX stand. 😁 Hope to see some of you there.

  9. I have to declare a tier 1 fail. I'd always envisaged that when I failed, it would be for a significant and worthy cause e.g. a vintage p-bass. However, it's ended up being for an entirely frivolous and low-level reason. When I put together my bitsa p-bass over 3 years ago, I ended up with a hand-fashioned acrylic control plate as a temporary solution because I couldn't source a steel/chrome one. I always said I'd address that later if and when the right part came available. Well last week, a chap in the Netherlands posted on another thread saying he was making them and I couldn't let the opportunity pass. So, I bought one and it arrived this morning. I'm happy that I've managed to go well over 2 1/2 years without any significant purchases, so I've proved to myself that I'm reasonably GAS resistant. I'm sure I'll be back on the wagon next year and I'm hoping I win the lottery this year so I can get a vintage p-bass during this outage. 😉

  14. Ah, I remember playing that place.... the door behind the drums leads to the dressing room, which is a static caravan! Full on Alan Partridge and much laughs with our own 'Music For Chameleons' fretless bass shenanigans....

  16. Been thinking about this for a while and then this appears on eBay 28 miles away. Landed it for £599. Sounds HUGE!! I was using an AI Clarus and Ten2ex cab but it wasn't working for me so I added a Phil Jones cab but it still wasn't strong enough for the electric gigs I was doing. Now I am ready for Wembley!!

  17. Hi all, Up for sale here is my Vintage V900 bass (pretty sure it's a V900!) It's an active bass, small body, nice and lightweight too. I've just put some 'nearly new' strings on it as the ones that were on it probably hadn't been changed in a decade! I've given it a bit of a set up and a battery change as it has sat unused for some years so now the action is nice and low (probably could go lower if you wanted) and it sounds and feels great! I'd say condition wise it's a very solid 8/10 with a few minor zings here and there but all very minor! It'll come with a Voyager branded semi-hard case as seen in the photos. Collection from Essex for £90 or posted (uninsured and at your risk!) for £100. Any questions, please ask.

  19. Up for sale is this sweet Atelier Z Beta 6 string bass. Top of the line flagship bass from the Atelier Z Shop in Tokyo. If you want a six string JB type look no further. Fretwork, attention to detail, playability and sound is as good as it gets and can stand its ground to any other boutique brand out there. I am the original owner and this bass is in mint condition, like new. Atelier Z have raised their prices so importing a new one with these specs will set you back 4000 Euros and that’s with a weak yen. Need to raise some cash for another project at the moment so I reserve myself to pull this ad down the line. If you have any questions, need more pics etc. just shoot me a pm. Price is 2650 Euros. Shipping within Europe is no problem. Neck: Maple Fingerboard:Maple24F Scale: 34inch Body:Ash 2pc Finish: Transparent sonic blue + matching headstock Bridge: ATELIER Z BB619 Pickups: ATELIER Z JBZ-6 Preamp: Bartolini XTCT Spectrum boost Control: Master Vol, Balance, Master Tone (Pull -> Passive mode), Treble/Bass Weight: 4,57 Kilogramms Original Atelier Z Gigbag + Tools included

  20. Following Peter's posts above (@WabiSabi), I went ahead and ordered one of his P-Base control plates, which arrived this morning. Peter was extremely responsive and helpful and there were no difficulties with any of that Brexit nonsense that might be associated with ordering stuff from the EU. It's a really nice quality part and it provides the finishing touch to my earlier bitsa project. 🙂

  21. Oh my, some real gems there. Unfortunately I have an inverse relationship between my GAS for COG and my CASH for COG. GLWTS 🤘
    3 points
  22. Agreed, that’s why my main two precisions are an American Original series and a 2003 AVRI. For me, the extra expense in some areas (like quarter sawn necks and better quality wood matching) and the labour/expertise needed to get the additional level of detail (relicing etc) of a Custom Shop model is a ‘nice to have’ but not my thing. My point originally was more pointed at the people who try and convince themselves that a Mexican standard P is ‘basically the same’ as a CS, which is far from true.

  23. Mine is a double reverse P. The pickups- dimarzio blades- are not original but they sound phenomenal. The bass was black when I boought it, so I stripped and oiled it and put the new circuit in. Really great bass. I

  26. Ok, so, getting this thread back on track… although the bass is a proper gift in itself - I’m not desperate for a sale and wanting to vex the taxman.

  27. I’ve had a few sales threads on here recently but have been put off adding more by the file-size limitations. Throwing caution to the wind (or at least compromising with the breeze), I thought I’d put up a single consolidated thread instead. All of the pedals are in good condition and I’d be happy to supply further details to those interested. I’ll post using Royal Mail Special Delivery. Broughton Calamity (boxed) - £175 £160 – One of the top three muff pedals I’ve played. Like the Utility Knife, I had this on the same two boards and I’m selling the spare. COG Custom Solid Snake Blender (boxed) - £90 – bought it because I love COG pedals and because I love Metal Gear Solid. Unusually, it works left to right but I forgive it because it looks cool. It works similarly to an LS-2 and is configured so that the pedal can either run the A Loop, B Loop or A+B Loops. It also has phase switches. Lone Wolf Audio Left Hand Wrath 2.5 (boxed) - £140 £125 – Similar to the Throne Torcher, also bought for a shoot-out. Wrought Iron Leather & Effects Kaiburr (boxed) - £325 – This was a custom run of one by Wrought Iron (and cost a princely £400 or thereabouts after taxes). It sat as the centrepiece of my sci-fi board but has been replaced by something more sith lordy. This has been recently checked over by Michael Aitken at Aitken Audio and is on top form. ON HOLD Barefaced Machinist (boxed) - £185 £160 ON HOLD– Bought on here and listing it for what I paid. Bought on the strength of Tim Commerford using it on his demo for his StingRay signature bass and Tom George at COG being involved in its design. COG Custom CMM00 - £250 £220 SOLD – Exceptional dual-amp monster aimed at assisting with obtaining a Royal Blood tone through two fuzzes and a re-housed POG. Outputs for bass, guitar and a combination for those running a single channel. Recently given the once over by Michael Aitken of Aitken Audio (and neighbour of Tom at COG) to replace a scratchy switch so it can purr for a new owner. Works thunderously. Source Audio C4 (£170) SOLD and Disaster Area Micro Pro (£90) SOLD (both boxed) - (or £250 for both) SOLD – A Basschat classic. Includes a USB cable and the Disaster Area Ghost Adapter. Idiotbox WTF (boxed) - £75 SOLD – Easily the maddest pedal I’ve ever played. A more or less uncontrollable noise box that used to sit at the front of the chain on my sci-fi themed board before a rejig. Southampton Utility Knife - £275 SOLD – One of my favourite pedals. A chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo in one small unit. Josh Broughton had a hand in designing the algorithms. They are extremely difficult to find and I’ve had to import both I own. I had one on two boards, one of which I recently disassembled, so I’m selling the spare. Sushibox Slampegg Bee Pre X - £150 SOLD – A familiar pedal on this sales forum. I’ve sold it a few times. It self-oscillates at certain settings (apparently this is inherent in the design) although I use it behind a buffer and at 12v and it behaves itself for me. I recently sold it on here but the tube became faulty on arrival. It’s visited Michael Aitken and is sporting a new tube. COG Custom F-2 HPF – £90 £80 SOLD – Lovely dual 30 Hz HPF. The static frequency is well chosen and my basses sound great. Having two is a cool and interesting feature. COG TK-421 Mini (boxed) - £348 £250 SOLD – Tom's take on the RAT distortion in mini format. The T-16 and Tarkin are, for me, the best octave and fuzz pedals of this size and I think the same of this distortion. I bought this for £348 in an eBay auction so hopefully someone else will get more of a bargain. Abominable Electronics Throne Torcher - £120 £105 SOLD – A nice HM-2 clone I bought for a shoot-out. I’ve gone with an HM-2 variant I waited over a year for, partly on the strength of the wait, so I’m selling the others. Thanks for reading!

  32. Very nice, I really like P-Basses with a metal control plate aesthetically but also functionally as the circuit can be tweaked/fixed without removing the whole plate. Lovely work Peter @WabiSabi, I might be getting in contact soon 👍

  33. I use the DCX as mid to high gain overdrive now, then the Fliptop is more for the B15 saturation. I like how it drives the Neptunium(creamy saturation from the Fliptop and a hefty cleans from the Nep sounds amazing to me). I set the eq flat on the Fliptop now and tweak from the Neptunium. Neptunium for XLR out access since we do ampless setup. Here’s a quick noodling https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Gp8h2MM0Qzp-3TxGU1JbdBMsJ0euKgZ_/view?usp=drivesdk

  34. A few of you may have seen the Billy Corgan interviews that are dropping onto You Tube, have watched a couple (Gene Simmons/Wolfgang Van Halen), both thoroughly enjoyable. Where Billy Corgan wins is that he's got shared experiences and is a fanboy/man of the people he's interviewing, even by association. While he says he's never met Wolfie, he knew Eddie and loved Van Halen. Recommended!

  35. Despite WvH's upbringing and exposure (and having lost my dad when I about his age), I really feel empathy with the guy. He comes across as a fairly nice, humble bloke that's experienced more exposure to the rock lifestyle that we'll ever see. Despite having released two very decent albums, where he's played everything, he has to find it somewhat exasperating having to live in his father's shadow with so many hardened Van Halen fans/whackos feeling it's necessary for [him] to somehow continue his father's legacy by going out and playing his dad's material or giving them a tribute show as some kind of closure. Nobody pressed Sean Lennon to do this. We live in odd times.

  36. I think I may have posted about this before, but if you need ideas for a band name pop into B&Q and go to the Valspar paint counter. They have colour cards covering the full spectrum of shades (there's a name for you!) with all sorts of creative names. Our bathroom is painted "Harp Strings"!

  45. I've had a Zephyr 5er (which I still have), a T40 and any number of Peavey amps & cabs. A drummer mate has a JJ Milestone which is such a nice, playable little bass that I stopped bothering taking any of my own basses over for a jam. I suppose the T40's the only 'proper' US-made Peavey I've played - aside from the legendary weight I found it a really good, quality-feeling bass, and incredibly versatile. However - that was an issue in itself in that unless you're making notes and/or drawing lines on the scratchplate & knobs, I found finding the same tone twice to be nigh-on impossible. It may have been a frustrating boat-anchor but I do kind of regret parting with that one.
