Bought a keyboard from John, arrived as described, well packed, not much more you can ask for really. Cheers!

Somewhat surprised that Line 6 seem to have moved away from this approach in recent years.

Price drop: £300 I believe this is a 2014 model, in sapphire blue burst quilted maple finish. 9.5/10 condition, the only mark I can see is some tarnishing on the 24th fret. Never been gigged, rarely been played -- turns out I don't have that much use for that 8th string. I like the 27" scale a lot though, and it has the typical Ibanez slim, fast neck. Possibly open to trades/PX for 7 string guitars or 5/6 string basses - open to trading up for the right instrument. I don't have a case so collection preferred, but if you're interested postage can probably be arranged.

Pair of Dunlop strap buttons (not locking) with screws and felt washers. Pack opened but they're unused -- the guitar they were bought for has the top button position slightly countersunk and these are about 1.5mm too wide to fit. Still have the £4.99 GuitarGuitar price tag on. £4 posted, or swap for some chrome strap buttons that are <10mm at the base 😩

Absolutely this. Computers are dreadful, really.

MIDI foot controllers with expression pedal
velvetkevorkian replied to velvetkevorkian's topic in Effects
You'd think there would be something in between the Roland and the Morningstar, with a few switches and one expression pedal. Back to plan A (plugging a regular expression pedal into the Stomp direcly) I guess. -
Toying with picking up a MIDI foot controller to use with my HX Stomp, but the only ones with an expression pedal I've seen are the big ol' Roland FC-300 and the venerable Behringer clone of the Roland FC-300. Are there any others? Maybe not quite as expansively huge? Or should I just save up for the ridiculous Helix-specific expression pedal?

Minor gripe -- the orange-on-orange tag design isn't very legible.

Fully wound 7 string sets
velvetkevorkian replied to velvetkevorkian's topic in Accessories and Misc
I've never seen a plain C but the plain F is pretty common, relatively speaking. Cheers for the heads-up on the Pyramids @Hellzero, finally got round to putting them on and they seem nice, albeit I had a bit of a nightmare getting the low B to sit properly. -

Bit of a weird one, this. I think I was given this as "not working" and have never gotten around to trying it. Just plugged it in to the FX loop on my HX Stomp and it does seem to work, albeit I'm not really sure what it should sound like -- the pitch knob was drifting a bit but some switch cleaner seems to have sorted that, although it doesn't seem to turn through its full range (goes from -1800 to +1020 or so). Anyway, if you want some very 80s effects this might work -- I really just want it gone so feel free to make offers on that basis. It retailed at £3-400 in the early 80s according to Home Studio Recording and Electronics & Music Maker magazines, so ~£1200 now! Can arrange postage or collect from Glasgow G51.

This has sat in my setup since about 2005 or so and mainly been used as a preamp for running guitar/bass into my PC, and headphone amp. I've just been over it with a can of switch cleaner and all the audio paths seem good. However, the LED meters have faded over time and no longer light up at all. Original power supply (with an incredibly long wire) included. Only moving on as I've (finally) upgraded to a USB interface. - switchable 48v phantom power on the two mic/instrument inputs - switchable HPF on channel 1 and high-z switch on channel 2 - channels 3 and 4 can be used for turntable input Say £20 + shipping or may be able to arrange delivery/collection if you're in the Glasgow area. Payment by paypal or bank transfer is fine. Open to offers given the LEDs issue. You can check my previous BC feedback here.

Paid for some strings late on Friday afternoon and they arrived at my door on Saturday morning -- thanks Simon!

Fully wound 7 string sets
velvetkevorkian replied to velvetkevorkian's topic in Accessories and Misc
Yeah I've actually been using a guitar D string based on that logic but the tension has never felt quite right at 34" - but it was very much a niche use case last time I looked into it. -
Are there any string sets for 7 string BEADGBE or BEADGCF tuning that have a wound top string? Last time I looked I couldn't find any but that was a while ago. Or should I suck it up and get a plain top string?

Huh, I had no idea Jimmy Egypt built instruments (although I did suspect that wasn't his real name...) He has a well known and long established repair service in Glasgow and I think his own shop now. Couldn't speak to its value though, sorry.

Some of the Mission ones have an extra toeswitch that gets picked up automatically as an extra switch by the Helix, so it can behave the same as a standalone wah pedal. https://missionengineering.com/shop-2/products/expression/specific-use-exp/sp1-l6h/
