1. He's posted another thread here. Some lovely looking stuff!
2. You need to come up with an objective definition of what's tasteful first. There's loads of stuff that gets posted here that I think is sh*t and not particularly tasteful. YMMV.
3. So it's an OLP by another name?
4. Maybe try palm muting gently, while popping the note hard? If your pop technique is anything like mine, the side of your hand should come to rest quite naturally on the strings.
5.
I've recently had the pleasure of gigging with all my fellow Licklibrary tutor guitarists, Andy James, Jamie Humphries, Mike Casswell, Danny Gill and Stuart Bull. Add to the mix, Pin (ex-Sikth) who i worked with in a band for a cuppla years, Steve Smyth (Forbidden/Nevermore/Testament) from a recent project and Jamie Hunt (ex-biomechanical) and the superb Leah Woodward who plays with Pin in the band Aliases, i reckon they are amongst my fave guitarists and friends. They all have their own styles and feel, even if some are in to brutal tech metal!
Andy James
6. Oh my. That headless Finn is a little bit special.
7. Ooh, the Iron Gears do look nice.
8. I could be interested, what kind of music is he looking at? Originals or covers? Would he object to me bringing the 7 string?
9.
Cool! What seven string is it?
It's a Conklin Groove Tools Bill Dickens sig model.
10. Having a massive neck inlay that continues on the headstock would generally suggest a Chinese eBay special to me, e.g something like this. There used to be a bunch of sellers who sold similar things, basically Chinese factory guitars with insane inlays added.
11. Read the f***ing manual
12. I had one a while ago- worked fine on bass, could do a great Cliff Burton imitation with the built in fuzzes. Unfortunately that was all I knew how to do with it Didn't notice any [unintended] low end loss. I would definitely consider it if I was after a wah. You really do need to RTFM though, it can be a bit fiddly to set up.
13. Indeed!
14.
Moffat is a great run on the bike so no excuses there. I like the idea of a Perth bash. Great city and very friendly. Its also pretty central and fairly easy to get to from just about any direction unless you stay in the Hebrides or Orkney. I vote for Perth. Now who is gonna organise it then ??? Dave
I'm in Dundee for uni so could be up for this, work allowing. Only have one bass with me but it does have 75% more strings so should be OK.
15. From the site: "YES is the first “acoustic hearted” professional electronic drum kit. A living, beating, intensely yellow-colored Italian heart." *checks date* has their April fool's joke gone live a bit early?
16. Ha, I enjoyed that very much. Nice shades!
17. Sold a strap to Chris. Super quick payment, no problem at all. Recommended
18. I would just file the one you have done a bit. You can pick up a small file from a hardware shop for a couple of quid.
19. Yeah, I think so. Knew I recognised that headstock.
20. Heh, I was actually meaning the one with the humbucker in the bridge and the red/blue colours
21. Is the funny coloured strat some sort of "relic" finish or is that the actual paint job?
22. Some lovely stuff there! Rather drawn to the Fender super-strat for some reason.
23. Looks like a Chinese eBay special. They get sold under various names with varying degrees of insane inlaying, usually with unusual (but not original) body styles- they had one that looked kind of like a Ritter. Antoniotsai was the brand I remember, I think. Not seen any in a while (although I haven't really looked).
24. Could you not just put a battery clip on a long wire and tape it to your strap?
