Seems that most of them are based in the USA. Be good if I didn't have to wait a couple of weeks for one, but if I can't get one over here, then I'll import it.

Hello, apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask in. I'm looking for a Gotoh 201 bridge for my Precision bass. Axesrus don't have them in stock, is there any other UK seller that has them at around the same price? I've searched high and low with no luck. I tried all the link in the sticky at the top of this forum as well.

Hello, I'm getting more and more into playing my basses these days. I've got an SX Precision that I've done some mods to (Jazz neck/new bridge/Fender pickup) and I really like it. I also have a Fender Jazz that I had the BassDoc rout out for a Precision pickup. I put Seymour Duncans in it, Badass bridge, rewired it. But I think in all honesty, I prefer the shape of the Precision. I'm not that keen on what the Jazz bridge pickup brings to the sound, on any Jazz bass for that matter. So I'm thinking of selling the Jazz bass so I can assemble a new bass. I've done this a few times with guitars. I got a body from www.guitarbuild.co.uk a couple of years ago and built a nice Telecaster (pictured below) I did everything but the setup myself. I was considering getting one of their two piece ash bodies. Has anyone bought a Bass body from them before? I knew the guitar template was good as a mate of mine bought one before me. If not, any recommendations as to where I can get a good quality unfinished Precision bass in the UK? Cheers Sorry if this is the wrong section. Here's a potato

PJ pickup balance question. Also help me choose ;-)

Just to report in, I got a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 in place of the SPB-3 and I'm much happier. The balance with the STK-J2B is much better and the tone when I've just got the neck pickup on is much more to my liking. Cheers! -

Sorry to hijack, any idea if the STK-J2B would work well with a Fender Original P-Bass pickup? -
Yup, your analysis is good. THe SPB-3 is way too hot to balance with the STK-J2B. tHe SPB-1 is, however, a pretty decent match if you want to stick with DUncans.
Yeah, that's my plan. I was playing my SX Precision last night which has the Fender US Standard pickup in it and it was much more to my liking. So I was thinking of getting one of them or the SPB-1 as you say. I'll figure it out after Christmas, the bank balance has already taken quite a hit this month. -

Nothing to really add, but thanks for the great info, I was about to ask a similar question to the OP as I've been trying to decide if the problem I'm having with my JP was the SPB3 and the STK-J2B. I think the SPB3 might be a bit hot for me so I'm going to look at swapping it with something else. Cheers! -

Hello, looking to make some pedal board changes so punting these pedals on. I love the MXR Carbon Copy, but I'm needing a tap tempo delay. It's in great condition and I've even got the original box it came in. £90 to your door. Also selling my Korg DT10 tuner as I'm looking to make space on the board, I'm going for something smaller. £30 to your door.

I think it really depends. I think most mix engineers will cry if you turn up with rusted old strings. It's easier to dull down a sound than it is to add sparkle. I always ask bands to turn up with new strings on their instruments no sooner than a day before recording so they can play with them a bit and settle on their instrument.
Okay, I'll admit that I'm a little biased but check these out.
I'm looking for pickups for a bass just now.. I loved all of those tones!

You think it'll mix well with the Quarter Pound Precision pickup? Thanks again for the help

Wonder how this will compare to the RBI? I've got an RBI and I'm a little bit underwhelmed by it.
