1. Don't have anything now above the 500 squids mark...
2. I use root-octave doublle stops all the time in a three-piece, to help fill up the space during guitar solos...
3. The two Allparts Jazz necks I've just acquired are quite different. The black blocks is shallower (although still deeper than my now-deceased P neck), but although the pearl bloks is chunkier, it is still a surprisingly fast player!
4. Despite only recently getting this from Shockwave, I'm moving this on. It inspired me to go down the Jazz and A neck route, and I've acquired so much in so little space of time that this now has to go! it plays really well, and sounds really good, too - classic Jazz, in fact. The neck profile is deep, definitely not in Geddy territory, but a very comfortable handful that works well with the 1.5" nut width. Shockwave's original build thread is here:- http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1662085 So, a really nice Jazz that, in the space of two weeks or so, I have replaced withan even nicer one. The only change from purchase to sale is the pickguard, whichis now single-py white. Price is as before: £135 FIRM, plus postage. Of course, collection is entirely pssible if you fancy a trip to West Devon! Paypal (gift payment) or bank transfer is fine. Or cash if you're turning up in Tavistock! Cheers, Den
5. Freshly replaced by a Mexican BBOT, I have a Badass II in chrome for sale. Excellent condition. No screws included. Adjustment key required is 0.05", again not included. Has been slotted once per saddle. £55 delivered, Paypal (gift payment) or bank transfer.
6. Bought a MIM bridge - all good! Thanks, Den
7.
I'm a big fan of having scruffies fixed up. Don't worry too much about the value if the guitar has once been someone's DIY attempt. Restore as far as funds and common sense allow and then play the hell out of it.
+ the one.
8.
I've had it for the best part of 30 years and as far as I'm concerned there is no fix so I just ignore it and get on with things. Most of the time I hardly notice that I have it.
Sounds familiar! I'm going down the in-ears route (and paying handsomely for it) in order to drastically reduce exposure, as I've found that omnce you have it, earplugs alone don't help much in that I can't hear anything!
9. Playing it gives me that feeling too!
10. Another trade with Lee - my 51RI for his Jazz. Top guy! Den
11. Yumminess! I put the black blocks neck on my MIM P due to the neck being weak. I've kept it going for around three years using TI Jazz flats, but still the truss rod won't hold it. So, the standard neck retires to a hook on the wall, and the neck from Higgie takes its place! Plays better than ever, possibly the nicest action I've ever played, in fact. The Jazz came from fellow BCer Rasta, and the neck on this (they are both Allparts necks) is a little more of a handful, but still plays beuatifully. And the Lindy Fralins sound huge!
12. This is what the 60th anniversary Precision should have been! Utterly droolworthy...
13. Just had Higgie's Jazz neck, it's all good! Cheers, Den
14. And another endorsement for these great wiring kits! Thanks, John!
15. One nice set of Vintage Reverse Tuners. These are, if you like, less 'vintage-correct', because they have a perfectly flat cast plate instead of the stamped plate with lugs through it. They are tension-adjustable also. Great condition, with bushes and screws. £25 deliverd, Paypal (gift payment please) of bank transfer acceptable. Cheers, Den
16.
Actually, a new spine would be of interest. I've had two lots of surgery on mine, the second of which involved some removal, and replacement with what can best be described as scaffolding, so I'll take your vertebrae as p/x if thats agreeable??
Been there, done that, got the scaffolding! Four ops. Not nice. Have a bump for quite possibly the nicest pair I've seen for a while!
