    What works is what works, even if that's completely different for every bassist. there is no right or wrong way to be prescribed. Basic knowledge says to warm your hands up a bit in some way, especially in cold weather. How you do it? However you like.

    Howdy! I won't recommend anything, because I'd only recommend one thing - Precisions! I am somewhat biased on these things...However, a good Precision is a thing of amazing versatility, one pickup or not. There, I did it anyway!

    That's really nice! But how is it less muddy than a Telcaster MKii? I suppose the active can tame it a bit...

    Only 10lbs? Lightweight for a 70s. Although my 75 was lighter than 10, so who knows? Sub 9lb Precisions aren't that common even now!

    It's a Precision. It doesn't need anyone's pre-amp. John's a nice, helpful guy who does great electronics though, no doubt about it.
