1. Howdy! My break was 17 years...and I was better at playing when I restarted, after the initial rusty period!
2. Ouch! Only ever use Hercules stands myself. Bombproof, don't fall over, and if they do have problems and are under 5 years old, the distributors will do their level best to sort it out. Three cheers for Strings and Things!
3. Hi Liam, and welcome! Playing in Exeter tonight - Whipton & Pinhoe Labour Club. New venue for us.
4. Ah, the toll bridge at Eynsham! Many trips 'twixt Oxford and Cheltenham have taken me over it.
5. Howdy from a former Essex lad. I say that, because I was born in Ilford, Essex, but Ilford is so totally London these days!
6. I'm a recent convert to TI Jazz Flats. Theyre on both my main basses, and I don't see them being changed out anytime soon!
7. I don't need it, but it's certainly a valid thing, not a gimmick. I'll add one to the arsenal at some point, for sure. A Fender American Standard P5, probably!
8. It will arrive eventually! Welcome from an even more south-westerly direction!

Hi

Greetings! Is a nice amp, isn't it?
10. Hi from someone very close indeed to Cornwall!
11.
For me the truth of this situation is more about how tolerant one is. I find that I can enjoy playing stuff that I wouldn't listen to. It feels different actually performing it and stuff that I would otherwise consider cheesy might seem like quite a lot of fun to perform. I wouldn't refer specifically to people I have worked with but I have played with some people who I felt were not so good until I playing with them gave me a bit more insight... I have had some disappointing ones too. The one exception to naming names is Bruce Forsyth, I felt Bruce was the epitome of finger down the throat cheese, throwaway saturday night tv guff, then I did a show with him and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the guy. He sang, danced, joked and even played in a piano trio setting with me and the drummer. I left the stage humbled. I do realise there is a bit of a difference playing a show like I described and some sh*te arse norbert in a local boozer for 30 squids
There probably isn't a better example of the right answer to this question...
12.
+1 for the tascam, I practice with mine all the time. MP3 player and headphone amp in one!
+ another 1 for the MP-BT1. I'd be lost without mine now, and I still have my CD-BT1 MkII, because it has a line in socket, which means you can input your pc or any other line level from iPods or whatever. Very useful.
13. Hmm, back in 1975/6, I had a Ned Callan guitar - a sort of single-cut SG. Quite good, too. No memory of what became of it...
14. Happy Birthday for Monday! Great cake! I am particularly biased, of course!
15. According to Alex Claber, Barefaced builder, his cabs are built and braced to within an inch of their lives, light or not. I'm considering one, or maybe the 2x12...
16. I lost it for 17 years!
