1. Welcome! Enjoy your new gig also!
2.
Ammo boxes are the way forward. Cheap-ish, and indestructable.
+1
3. On MB reliability: My CMD121H has been going for 4 years now. I did replace the fan when it started to rattle a bit, but that's it so far...

Howdy, and welcome!
5. Greetings, from another knackered oldie using Markbass gear! Has definitely helped my back to get no worse than it is!

Hello

Howdy Derek! Vocalists...

Hi all

Howdy, from another dad!
8. Change nothing except strings to taste. The American Standards most certainly DO NOT need a Badass. Or any other bridge. It would have to be a Badass III anyway, and at the moment, it would be easier to get a free ticket to the World Cup Final than to find a new BAIII... Great bass, you'll love it!
9. Nothing I've read has changed my mind. Even at festivals where b/l is provided, I will normally use my own. Haven't got a rig or can't get it to a gig? You're not in a band...
10. Howdy! Good weather, good food, good wine...I could live with that! cheers, Den
11. Howdy! Good to get back in, no? I lost bass playing for 17 years...boy, was it good to pick it up again!
12.
Tell them to shove it. No Gear - No Band. Simple.
+1 "They may have to travel a distance without the room for gear.....there's many reasons why they wouldn't have an amp"" There are no reasons AT ALL for a band to turn up without the proper kit, barring accidents on the way. Even then, they should call ahead and say that they cannot play. I wouldn't lend my gear to anyone I didn't know well, and I've only done that twice.
