Hello!

Welcome! Nice rig, but too heavy for me... MIM Precision? Unbeatable VFM.
7. I've had one, with black lining, for around two years. It's been to a lot of gigs, and is certainly showing many signs of wear and tear, but it's a good case, and I have no complaints for the money. Mine is badged Westfield, but they are produced under many or no names. It will be replaced with either a Hiscox LiteFlite or Fender moulded case.
8. I've not broken a bass string, ever, in 40 years. (OK, that's the kiss of death for Saturday's gig! ) Stringing? The only difference I can see that it would make, from a physics point of view are these: 1) Very slightly greater tension, as more string is being stretched. 2) No need whatever for a massive bridge of any sort; whatever bridge is there, as long as it is basically rigid, is being clamped to the body by the strings, as opposed to the strings trying to tear the bridge form the bass. End result? Apart from that small tension increase, no difference that I've ever noticed.

Festival gigs

Now, I've only played the Tavistock Summer Solstice fest so far, for the past 3 years. This weekend, we're doing the Summit Festival on top of Kitt Hill, near Callington, Cornwall. While it's certainly no Download or V, it has some years of history, and is certainly the biggest outdoor event I've played so far. Which is not that many, even after all these years! So tell me, what are your good and bad festival gig stories, pointers, dos and don'ts etc? Any pointers gratefully received! Den
10. Welcome! "Play various Fenders Jazz & P Basses." Now, that I can relate too...
11. Welcome! You know you want a Fender Precision...!
12. The machines look like Grover Titans, not a good look on a Fender-style. IMHO, natch! Otherwise, rather spiffy, I think, red tort and all!
13. Welcome! Good way to chill! But better still on a stage!
14. Welcome! 51RI - now, that's a BASS! And chrome and stuff! Yum! Just like mine, in fact!
