1. Not really THAT odd, but I did briefly play for a Cornish punk band. With the lyrics actually in Cornish!
2. Welcome, O Wibbly One! I'm sure you'll enjoy this forum a lot!
3. Really enjoyed it! The spacious stage allowed us plenty of room to rock out. The 51 is, and will likely remain, my go-to bass. It's even becoming something of a personal trademark around here!
4. Hey, I restarted this at 53, and even after all those years, you probably already know more theory than I'm ever likely to learn. Go for it as soon as you're amp'd up. See my post in this section to see what happened to me after 17 years off!
5. However, the button on THIS bass was a mod... That's Freddie Tavares, and no SCPB ever had a HS strap button fitted...
6. And it went down an absolute storm! The venue were plainly not expecting the numbers that turned up (neither were we!); around 80 tickets sold in advance, which surely should have given them a clue... Chaos reigned in the bar, where one bar person was valiantly trying to serve nearly 200 people. The lighting guy was serving at one point! Anyhoo, here's a shot from the night. The venue's lighting guy and soundman were outstanding. On a bass-related note, the soundman eventually dropped my rig right out of the FOH system (a 16kW Court Acoustics Ramjet system, powered by the ubiquitous Crowns) - it was doing fine on its own, and due to having enough space to really breathe, was at a lower setting than I've ever used before. Not bad for a 400 bod venue!
7. Welcome, from another gigging (almost) pensioner!
8. I decided to use what I knew, and got a Megger PAT3 manual tester.
9. Not a chance unless the cab is split.
10. Bit of a puzzle, this one. I thought I had just about every key I would ever need, but a 3/32 is too small, and a 7/64 is too big. Likewise, 2.5mm is too small, 3mm too big. Very irritating! White, rosewood board, made on March 28 1997 according to the neck. Can't find any reference to the brand anywhere... Any help much appreciated!

I'm off to NZ.

Jeez, how did I miss this? All the best, CK hope it works, and see you on here again soon! Den
12. Welcome! I like Precisions...probably unhealthily!
13. Welcome! I'm almost as not in Scotland as it's possible to be, and still be in the UK!

G'day

Welcome! I think you're right about Zoe, and who better?
15.
And at this point I feel you are perhaps in a slightly different sort of venue...... Out of interest (and this is genuine interest) what sort of venuess/gigs are you taking this sort of money from ? Dave
+1... As a three-piece, we do better at the money game than some, lowest we go out for is £150, normal is £180 (pubs), by negotiation for functions, etc. Even so, no-one's making a living at it!
16. OK, if you lot can, there has to be one for Cornwall! Welcome!
