1. Otherwise, as above, ask that nice man at Status!
2. In my experience of these, it's wasted effort - whatever you throw at it won't improve it much, because the base bass is basically very good indeed! If you twist my arm....ouch...Hipshot Ultralite tuners for a little weight saving and better balance.
3. If you really need a new neck on this, you got a duff one!
4. Mould. It's got a u. Unless you be American, that is...
5. We've set our first gig in late July. Since the announcement of that, we're already at 3 gigs a month for the rest of the year, 4 in some months. We barely had to mention we were back together, and it all took off by itself. It's a bit nerve-wracking, actually, but in a good way!
6. Never seen one in the flesh, but would like to!
7.
I'm a bit OCD about headstocks being small and symmetrical (headless for bonus points) and bridges being chunk and non-captive e.g. Cool ... Not cool ...
Nope, you got it backward...OCD or not, the top one is ugly.
8. I have a couple of Dunlop Turbo tunes. The bit comes off the handle and fits a power driver. Discontinued, I think, but someone else made knock-offs for a while...
9.
My tinnitus.
+1...
10.
I know it's opening a whole can of worms, but can I use a 12" with a 10"?
Yup, only the impedances matter. For example, I use a combo with a 12 and a 15 extension.
11.
My band mates are a lot more generous than me when comes to letting anyone play my bass at my gig. I have a simple standard response; "No" Works like a charm every time. Blue
Yup.
12. Just two. 1) An all-Fender bitsa that started life as a 2004 MIM Precision. This has done maybe 600 gigs all told. The body shows some signs of wear but is still in pretty good nick. 2) A recently acquired Yamaha BB414. Completely stock. Cracking bass. Fender has had 20 mins playing since I got it. Will be looking to move up the BB market, but will stick now with two, and the bitsa is going nowhere.
13. New Old Band Day! Seems like The Rock n Roll Outlaws will live on, despite a year's gap. Only gigging once or twice a month starting late spring/summer, but glad it's revived nonetheless!
14. I have a MIM Standard Precision with an American Special Jazz neck. Very slim a la Geddy, carbon reinforced as per USA Standard, great bass.
15. Swap the necks, see if the Tokai neck kills the cheapie or the cheapie neck resuscitates the Tokai body...
16. Only relatively recent LMIIIs are class D - the earlier ones are upgraded LMIIs.
17. Gave it three hours on stage last night - it was fabulous!
18. Excellent gig to a sold-out Wharf in Tavistock! Three and a half hours stage time, so thoroughly knackered today. Excellent pay, too! Happy and shattered!
19. Oooh, that's nice! (Yes, another old bassman drooling! )
20. I'll do it if asked because I, if no one else, desperately needs the income. However, we are all still friends, and plainly we have an unsatisfied audience! There's little doubt it would work - assuming we don't completely screw up tonight's reunion bash!
21.
Is the band in an area where 60 gigs is realistic? Blue
The band was killed off at its peak. We spent nearly 8 years doing 60+ gigs a year, and could probably have made it 80 with a little effort. As an indication of what we could do, we've reformed for a New Year's bash tonight and sold out a 400-seater at nearly $20 a ticket. The past year since this happened cost me at least 50% of my income. At least tonight's pay packet will be good!
22. Don't forget Yamaha BBs. Lots of bass for not much dosh.
