Telebass

Like any acoustic bass guitar, it depends what you want to hear. They are very nice basses, all, even the top of the range, now made in China. The very earliest were actually handbuilt by Lakewood for Warwick, and were apparently very loud, utterly amazing, and humongously expensive. The current version will, like almost an other ABG, hold its own with a quiet acoustic guitar or two, but beyond that will need an amp. Mine was The Alien fretted four and was very nice ( and free, too!), but for my ABG needs was outclassed in every way by a £300 Fender Kingman. Not that the Kingman was necessarily better, it just suited ME better...

Remember winning an expensive Warwick Alien a while back, when the email arrived saying,"Congratulations, you have won...", it got deleted...then I went back and checked it out and it was real! Nice feeling!

Having gone through a fair bit of gear, I simply sat down a few months back and thought, what do I NEED? And do I actually WANT anything more? As the gloop inside my head was being honest with itself ( for once...), I simply decided to strip back to basics. The Markbass kit isn't cheap, but that's as exotic as it gets. One bass is a good Fender bitsa, the other a Squier P5. That's it. Given that this kit dies all that I need, I won't be buying more. Unless loads of dosh suddenly appears. Then I'll get something from the Fender Custom Shop or Limelight!

[/quote] Buy a Squier VM Fretless Precision and a VM 70s Jazz. Swap the necks. Tada! Sell off the remaining bits to fund the active eq. Not 7/8 size, but will weigh 8lb or less. Job done!

Used Lemonrock.com for the whole life span of RRO (nearly 8 years), to great effect. Will certainly be using it again. Does seem to have greater effect in some areas, eg the far south west (the South West Gig Guide was a large piece of what became Lemonrock), and Hertfordshire.

I've found that both Chromes and TIs still keep some bite, even after years, so maybe there's eq in there somewhere also. Th TIs are about two years old - barely run in.
