1. Up for grabs is my LMIII head.Top is scuffed, hence price. Otherwise excellent condition, and includes the proper Markbass soft case. TRADE: straight swap for Traveler 121H cab is the only trade I'd consider. Specs: http://markbass.it/p...etail.php?id=99 Add £12.00 for postage. 3.
I watched this with my other half, who sings in my band & is very supportive of my GAS habit. She says: "What's that he's playing". Me: "Quite possibly the most disgusting bass I've ever seen". Not a whole lot of help, I know... Jon.
But very true...
  4.
I`ve now got the basses I both want and need. Sure there are many other basses I`d like, but I know I wouldn`t play them much, so it would be pointless having them.
I've reached this point also. 5 for me!
  5.
You know a new bass is good when. . . you look up and realise you've been playing for an hour and a half.
This.
  6. Bought this rather incredible piece of kit from KK Jale of this parish a while back, but things change, and the project is no more... Basically a kit to convert a B or C nut width Precision into a narrow-spaced 5-string. Everything is included, even a B string! Although that's VERY old, so only included for the completeness of the kit! Works by having a new bridge with a tuner on it for the D, which is anchored up top by a modified string tree. A nut blank is included also. This is, effectively, NOS. It's never been installed. Everything is there, including instructions. It's not a totally reversible mod in that if fully installed, it needs two holes at the FRONT of the bridge. You could risk a 3-hole install, or drill the bridge to achieve the standard 5-hole mount. Any questions...I haven't a clue! But try anyway!

  9.
On the subject of expensive v cheap, I'd just add that the cheapest instruments tend to have equally low budget electronics (whether passive or more so in active) and signal to noise ratio is 'generally' less of a problem on better quality instruments.
On a correctly wired Precision, for example, the quality of the components will have zero effect on s/n ratio. Components just aren't that bad. Actives, maybe. Anither reason not to bother with actives. Cheap components might affect the tone, however. But these days? Less likely than in the past. I no longer bother to swap out Squier wiring unless I manage to break something. I can't hear any difference. If others can, fine, but no audience ever will. We really do obsess way too much about this stuff. Some of these designs really are just about unimprovable. They're too simple to need complex thinking! Just play it...
  10. My main bass has been a MIM P for most of the past 11 years. It was always good. However, the wonderful neck went bad. Now it wears an American Special Jazz neck, and is as playable as anything I've ever picked up. It has a USA pickup, but it never sounded any different with it, so I never bothered to swap it back.
  11. Run To You. Nobody ever seemed to realise how inappropriate it was...
