1. Where's the 'Like' button?
2. Good machines, Schaller BMFLs.
3. They're good enough for American Specials also. They work well, and they're reversible, so good for lefties also.
4. ^^ Handy that, isn't it?
5.
Hearing permanently damaged and it's hearing aids now for the rest of my life. Younger BCers please take heed.
This.
6. There's simply no place like it!
7. ALL of these things grate on me, every single one... I'm cool with groovy, though!
8. The single biggest difference between the two methods: one clamps the bridge on, the other tries to tear it off. Having said that, I'm rather fond of the Yamaha angled thru-body idea - seems logical, and is probably entirely ok for LaBellas.
9. Jeez, 12lbs! The plexiglass one I had wasn't much heavier than that! Looking great otherwise.
10. There's almost no day I miss logging on here. It's changed, inevitably. It went frim a few hundred to in excess of 10,000 members - hardly a static situation. But as someone who was here when BW was new, and then became this forum, I'd have to say it is still one of the nicer internet forums on any subject.
11. My backup was a Samson Q7. I did get it trade at the time, though. These days I use an AKG D5 as my main and only mic. Shop around for these, they are good, tough, and lots cheaper than a 58. If I needed a spare, I'd buy a second D5.
12. He's not worth your discussion about this discussion...
13. Both my Precisions have Jazz necks. It's the way to go.
14.
I'm genuinely saddened by this news. His playing had a major influence on me, he was probably the first bass player I actually sat up to actually listen to. As madshadows said, what a player he was. RIP
Sums it up from me too. Sadness. RIP.
15. Another h/t to GAK from me.
16. West Devon, tatty gig bag, stand, bow, gig bag for stand. Setup is ok, not really low. Going to need new strings, really. Lot of bass for the money!
