1. The middle one is pure Squier, with some minor upgrades. .
2. Used one of these for years - bought it new in 1980. Good amp.
3. Done my own SQUIER custom p already. Sunburst with all maple white/pearl blocks/binding. And the black one also, but that's a Fender bitsa rather than Squier. The Squier wins, though. That's my go to bass.
4. My home bass shop. And I live in Devon!
5. Cut-down TI Jazz Flats on the Alien, Fender 9050s (?) 55-105 on the Kingman.
6. Regret: '69 Telecaster bass. It just worked, on every level. Glad to be rid of: '68 Jazz Bass. It just didn't work, on any level.
7. Will check that out immediately!
8. Wedding gig at Tavistock Town Hall. Extraordinarily hot! Definitely lost a few pounds!
9. Jeezus, even my plexiglass one wasn't that heavy!
10.
Your bitsa P is literally half the weight of the last one I played
It really is almost toy-like. I can wear it for hours and not notice. If I did the Hipshot Ultralites mod, it would not only be better balanced, but half a pound lighter still! The only fly in that ointment, if you like, is that the tuners would almost be more expensive than the rest of the bass!
11. The scales back up results I've had before. Thwe Squier Bitsa is my main gigging bass because it weighs nothing. The perfectly normal weight Fender now seems MUCH too heavy! Try a current VM Precision. the6y weigh nothing at all! In fact, I may have to go the route of Hipshot Ultalite tuners eventually, because it's not as well balanced as it could be.
12. For no particular reason other than curiosity...and a new set of scales! Cheapie off ebay, but seems pretty good. If you looked for similar, they're the ones with a smiley face! Fender Kingman acoustic ---- 6.5lb Squier Bitsa Precision -------- 6.8lb Warwick 'The Alien' 4 --------- 7.1lb Squier VM P TB --------------- 8.7lb Fender MIM P Bitsa ---------- 8.8lb
13.
Kiogon wiring loom, look no further Spb-1 is good, antiquity 2 is also lovely
The SPB-2 is good also, a little hotter.
14. Great! Mary Tavy Inn, Devon. Home crowd, wonderful evening!
15. Trios rock! My band 'upgraded' to a second guitarist (very good he is, too), and I've not enjoyed it nearly so much. Ah well, that band ceases come December. ..
16. Back home bump! Remember, courier is now an option - found the box!
17. Heads up: from now until Friday, I'm in a tent near Newquay. Will still venture in to check every so often!
18. Great night at the White Hart in Chilsworthy, hard against the Devon border. Totally rammed! Always good to have a crowd that really enjoy it!
19. Muchas gracias, amigo! Your Super 12 was pretty damn good, too!
20. That quite literally could have been my old one...should have kept a record of the serial! Identical mods, everything...
21. Think I played through one of those rigs at the Truro version of Live Aid in 1985!
