1. P-bass, Mark bass, Barefaced 2x15. Job done.
2. Just received a 121H cover from Pete. great deal, and quick delivery! Cheers, Den
3. Hmm, no, not 3/8ths. Shaft dia = 13.5mm/0.531 inch, bush needs 18mm hole 0.707 inches...
4. So surprised this is still here! Gave up trying to sell the Alien. Got plans for it now!
5.
To be perfectly honest, I've never found that replacing the stock Fender bridge makes much difference to the tone or sustain. There are other more important factors to consider first IMO. That said, some of the Fender high-mass bridges look better than the BadAss, Gotoh, etc equivalents. I'd keep the money or buy a couple of decent sets of strings!
This. There's nothing wrong with the stock bridge. Basic and workmanlike, yes. Bad bridge, absolutely not.
6. There's also the Squier Vintage Modified Precision Fretless. £250 in Wunjos and weighs just UNDER 7 pounds. That's about as light a bass as you're ever likely to buy.
7. Really good transaction with Howard for my bitsa PJ, highly recommended! Den
8.
The noise was irritating sometimes, but I came away from the show wanting to play more bass. That can only be a good thing.
THIS is what it's all about. I shall try my damndest to be there next year.
9. Great transaction with Pestie for a Slinger Strap. Many thanks! Den
10. True, but some things are 'visual inspection', and you don't want someone telling you that things need checking when they don't.
11. Standard Outlaws gig at Plympton Conservative Club. Except that news of our upcoming demise seems to have bought out everyone locally who'd ever heard of us! Absolutely rammed and a great night! Edit: played fretless on one track. First time on a fretless in public for nearly 30 years!
12. The only things that need testing are the things that plug into the mains supply. So, amps, wall warts (thorough visual check), any detachable cables, extension leads. Your instrument and speaker cables do not need testing. However, you should certainly look after your speaker cables as a duff one just might cause the destruction of your amplifier.
