1. Got this at Wunjos yesterday. Tom had ordered it in on spec as I was returning to the shop. Plus points: Sounds great! Mind, played through an SVT, most Precisions sound good! The ebanol board gives serious mwah! Looks great! Sunburst/tort is the only colour option, but what an option! Plays really nicely! Needed a tweak of the truss rod and it really plays well. Was able to A/B it with a '78 maple board P and the Squier was nicer, as in it has a much less chunky neck. Will feel better still with some TI Jazz Flats on. Weighs nothing. This was particularly evident compared to the '78, which was nice, but probably over 10lb. The Squier is noticeably lighter than my working basses, which are both 8.7lb. Overall fit and finish: very good. A slight wrinkle is that the board is presented as a defretted board, with side dots where you'd expect to find them on a fretted instrument. Verdict: the only change I will make is to change the knobs. This is a Squier I will happily gig and not suffer headstock-name-itis! Very impressed.
2. And another visit to Wunjos was entirely positive. Bought a Squier fretless P. Great service.
3. I once owned a fretless Precision. As happens, I stupidly got rid of it, ooh, aeons ago. So I'm gassing for another. And Wunjos have a Squier ready for me tomorrow! Already have the tools and a new set of TI Jazz Flats waiting...
4. Sorry, was a bit of a hijack, but done tongue in cheek!
5. My two Precisions:
6.
Win. I've wanted an acoustic bass for ages, but haven't bought one - the only one that's grabbed my attention is a Kinal - too expensive for playing at home!
Nice Warwick Alien going here!
7. Good nick, single notches, previously on a Fender bass. Price includes delivery.
8. SkinnyJazz necks. Although I fit them to Precisions - still don't like the Jazz body/pickups.
9. Excellent transcation with Chris re some Markbass spares. Cheers, Den Edited for ridiculous typo!
10. I recently bought a set of 4 Sanyo Eneloop AAs. These are hybrid batteries. They seem to last really well in a digital camera, and I will be trying them in ny in-ears body pack also. Not cheap, but quality never is!
11. On channel E1. Whatever that is. I did think it was outside the licence range... Edit: nope, in the small window above ch69!
12. I've used a Samson Airline system since 2005/6. No issues whatever.
13. I too like to use my own mike (a '58!), but I have used and like those D5s. If I need to replace the 58, that's what I will buy.
14. Also use LD ME100s, but with a set of ACS T3 custom phones. Only single driver but pretty good . I'd upgrade them to T1 Lives if I had the dosh, though.
15. No school I went to did any music at all. No, tell a lie, we did one term on recorder.
16. Right, as soon as possible after returning home from London, I'll be on Amazon buying this! Promise!
17.
Surely the answer to "I already have 4 Jazz Basses so..." is: I need to buy 4 Precisions.
This.
18. If you or any of the band are MU members, get any contracts run past them. Consider joining for this reason alone.
